Theme Parks
Theme Park Investigation for TRC, Inc.
Prepared by Jeorge Vega
Director of Vega Consulting Group
Report Distributed May 7, 2010
Prepared for
TRC, Inc.
INTRODUCTION
This report examines the current state of the theme park industry and how TRC, Inc. can expand into
the state of Florida. Florida already has theme parks that range from Disney World to Busch Gardens,
zoos and aquariums. Vega Consulting group will analyze and investigate future possibilities for
TRC, Inc.
Theme parks and amusement parks are places people to go to have fun, relax and enjoy themselves.

The most well known of the parks in London, was Vauxhall Gardens founded in 1661 and closed
in 1859. These parks consisted of booths, entertainment, fireworks displays and some rides such as
introduction to the modern railroad. The parks grew to accommodate the expectations of their
customers. Rides became a required part of the pleasure garden and by 1896, there were 65 such
pleasure parks in London.
In 1895 Sea Lion Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn opened its doors. It was the first permanent
amusement park in North America. This park was one of the first to charge admission to get into
the park in addition to sell tickets for rides within the park. In 1897, Sea Lion Park was joined by
Steeplechase Park, the first of three major amusement parks that would open in the Coney Island
area, the combination of the nearby population center of New York City and the ease of access to
the area made Coney Island the embodiment of the American amusement park. Theme parks are
considered a modern amusement park.
Current State of Theme Park Industry
The biggest name in the theme park industry without a doubt is Disney. With two locations in the
United States, one in Anaheim, California and one in Orlando, Florida. Disneyland and Disney
World take theme parks to a completely new level. Their theme parks tell a story everywhere you
go. Outside the state of Florida another big name in
The And Of The Metal Ammonia
The rapid decreases in 5V as TMD, FeSc or host material is added to the metal ammonia,
10 suggest that the fraction of solvated electron is radiply decreasing. This means that these free
solvated electrons started to immigrant to host samples valence band or fermi band(see section
2.3.1) after that the guest spicies are nestled in the centers of the crystal structure of host spicies. The
intercalation of metal ammonia (if this clarication is correct) enhances the lattice match, thereby
advancing the intercalation process. To enhance the lattice match, the ions size of guest material and
the d spacing or c0 of host guets should be proportional to each others. Thus, the rst one(ioniserted
guest material) should be smaller than the later one, host material. Ions size may be larger or smaller
than the neutral atom, contin gent upon the ion s charge.
At the point when an atom loses an electron to edge a cation, the lost electron no more contributes to
shielding other electrons from the charge of the core; thus, alternate electrons are all the more rmly
pulled in to the core, and the diameter of the ion decreases. So also, when an electron is added to an
atom, framing an anion, the added electron shields alter nate electrons from the nucleus, with the
outcome that the extent of the atom increments[7].
In this report, the ion s size was estimated by using X ray s data and table 2 in section 2.3 con rms
the values of dierent guest samples.
The second element that is crucial
The Role Of Absenteeism Within Female Staff Essay
This paper is going to focus on the main factors that cause and influence absenteeism within female
staff specifically within Not Well Women ltd and how this compares to male staff. The review of
this literature in this paper leads to two research questions (1) what factors cause the greatest amount
of absenteeism of femaleworkers? (2) What factors seems to cause the decreased amount of
absenteeism for maleworkers?
This review sets out to explore the answer to the question of how we ESTABLISING A
SOLUTION TO REDUCE ABSENTEEEISM RATES FOR FEMALE STAFF WITHIN NOT
WELL WOMEN LTD. Absenteeism is an issue that affects all organisations around the world.
According to Störmer and Fahr (2010) The impact of absenteeism on firms or even a nation s
economy is enormous, taking account of the costs associated with it. For this reason alone a lot of
organisations and governments spend a lot of time investigating the problems and effects of
absenteeism and how it can be reduced. Although when you look into absenteeism you see that
absence is not purely a medical condition (Barmby, Ercolani and Treble 2002).
Whitaker (2001) states that sickness is a complex phenomenon that is influenced strongly by factors
other than health and when looking into absenteeism you cannot only look at the physical sickness
side of things but need to look in depth to many other issues such as stress, work satisfaction, family
deaths, family sickness and children dependency. We see that many of theses
Magic Realism In The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World
At its most basic level, magical realism is the mixture of the supernatural with realistic
characteristics. This genre is known for having specific traits to help classify if a work of art is
in the genre. One work of art that exemplifies almost all of these traits is The Handsomest
Drowned Man in the World by Gabriel García Márquez. After a washed up corpse is found in a
small village, the people of the city fall in love with the man s tallness and his handsomeness. They
quickly decide to worship him and they want to better themselves because of him. On the other
hand, one example of a misconception of magical realism is Big Fish, directed by Tim Burton. The
central character, Edward Bloom, recounts his life with exaggerated stories to his son Will, who
thinks the embellished tales are unnecessary and insulting. As his father is sick, Will travels to be
with him. During his visit, Will gets a more in depth view of his father s real life and the truth of
what his life actually was. This film has some of the traits, but not enough to classify it as part of the
magical realism genre.
One crucial trait needed for magical realism is the idea of irreducible magic. This means magic
that cannot be normalized or reduced throughout the work of art. Big Fish very clearly breaks this
characteristic. In Edward s stories, he magnifies the sense of magic. When Ed passes away, Will
discovers that all the magic Ed encountered throughout his life was relatively normal compared to
Adult Sunday School
Throughout Oscar s time as a leader at Gospel Ministries Church, he has witnessed the Sunday
School program s attendance drop significantly due to there not being a central line of
communication between the information each class provides and the members of the
congregation. Whether if it be due to scheduling conflicts or church emphasis, Oscar feels that
once these two things are fixed, the attendance in each class will increase from what it is now, but
is not sure what steps to take to make his vision a reality. Through the process of discussing
solutions, looking at who will be affected, and looking at the values of each route taken a resolution
can be made to decide how to get the word spread throughout the church. By reaching this goal,...

According to Parr, there are two ways to conclude that Sunday Schools are working correctly and
those are that the lost will be reached and that lives will be changed, in which he states A Sunday

Plane Crash Monologue
Day One: The Plane Crash We did not arrive at our destination. The plane crashed on an island.
There are no signs of adults or teachers, only boys. I am not alone. There are no adults to tell us to
make a shelter, or to find a clean stream of water. I found another boy, his name is Ralph. He is
taller and much thinner than I am. I expected there to be more than two boys alive from the plane
wreck, and surely enough there were more survivors. I found a conch shell to lure the others; of
course I could not blow it myself on account of my asthma. When I told Ralph that he would have
to give the conch a try because Aunty told me that I can t do things like that, he said to me, Sucks
to your ass mar (Golding 141). I told Ralph to not tell the others about the mean nickname I have
from home, but he did anyways. However, I am glad that he was chosen over Jack, who scares me.
Surely the other boys will notice that my brains outweigh their brawn sooner or later. If they do not,
I may be spending more time on this island than I care for. Hubert Johnson

Simon is dead. We were all scared, is all. Honest. One minute we were talking about the beast, and
the next minute a beast like figure emerged from the bushes. We were sure it must have been the
beast, descending from its throne on the mountain. But as we ripped and clawed at the beast s
flesh, the beast looked much smaller than we had originally believed it to be. Ralph is very sorry,
but it was only an accident. We weren t in our right minds, what with the thunder and the lightning

The Shah s Adaptation And Endorsement Of Islam
Throughout the history of present day Iran it has been contested whether the Shi i ulama or the Shah
are the logical leaders of the community. It is true that the ulama have gained control of Iran, and that
Islam changed much in Iran, but in some respects continuity from the past was far stronger than the
new concepts (Frye 36) due to the fact that the power of the Shah remained for hundreds of years
after the introduction of Islam. The Iranian people have a long history of traditions and culture and
even when Islam spread throughout the country it was adapted to include some of the Iranian
traditions. The most significant example of this is the Shah s adaptation and endorsement of Islam.
The long history, tradition, and the decline of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The office of the Shah has had such an impact that one may find in the literature and in the art of Iran
evidence for a powerful and continuing charisma of kingship, even through great upheavals and
changes in the history of the land (Frye 36). The Shahs in pre Islamic Persia established
legitimacy by charisma and by being a religious leader because the people believed Ahura Mazda
confers on the king charisma and special wisdom. The king s duty was to enforce the law, social
order, and righteousness, however if social unrest occurred, it was a sign that the dynasty had lost
divine favor. The Iranian theory of kingship lasted for a long periods of time because the Shahs
who ruled were charismatic and successful at establishing legitimacy, and if not they were able to
be disposed of by the religious priests and nobles. The Shahs in post Islamic Iran needed to learn
to establish legitimacy in a region where the people were disposing of Zoroastrian beliefs and
converting to the Shī a ideology of Islam. The Shah that managed to merge traditional role of a
Shah and the religious aspects of Islam was Shāh Ismāʿil. This Shah needed to establish his
legitimacy and did so in two important and relevant ways. First, Shāh Ismāʿil used the the ancient
Persian concept of kingship which was expressed in the concept of the king being the shadow of
God on Earth because he believed that he was divine and had the right to rule because of
How Does Religion Create Bias
Religion creates bias. Bias controls decisions. Decisions run countries. Ever since there was
Religion, it has been affecting the decisions people make, and ever since there was politics, it has
been affecting the decisions people make in politics. Not only that, but sources indicate that religious
influence in political decision making has been growing recently. Religionhas always been, and will
remain to be a critical factor in politics.
Many of the world s governments, especially those of western societies, are democracies. Webster
dictionary defines a democracy as, a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in
the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system .
Through this, it is extremely apparent that the individual views, morals, biases and ideologies of
citizens within the democracy would build it up to its whole, likely partisan, self. There are many
ways in which someone may develop a bias, such as indoctrination from an early age. Parents will
most likely project their own bias onto their children, this bias was collected by the ... Show more

It is no secret that businesses and labour unions have a huge say in politics. The labour movement
was charged by a group called the Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor; this group was
run by strong followers of the Catholic faith. The views expressed by this group transferred on to
the views of many people involved in the labour movement, and later transferred on to the views of
modern labour unions. Many widespread companies, such as Forever 21, In N Out Burger (and
several other fast food chains for some reason), JetBlue (and several other airlines for some reason),
and Timberland, are run by religious fundamentalists who project their (occasionally bigoted) views
upon their customers and employees. These fundamentalists are almost all Christians, with the

Random Act Of Kindness In Nursing Research Paper
Being a nurse, I perform random acts of kindness everyday. I may not realize it but just one
simple task can brighten up an individuals entire day. I work in long term care in a nursing home.
Many of my residents are at their end of life and do not get many visitors or phone calls from
family. With 27 patients to one nurse it can be hard to give that special bit of attention to my
loving residents, but after a while you learn to make time for these simple things, even if it s going
to get them a fresh cup of ice water or seconds on desert. However, recently, one task will leave a
lasting impression on me. (The names in this essay have been changed for privacy) Mrs. Banks has

Even after ninety years of wear and tear on the body her mind is as sharp as ever. But, eventually
that too has deteriorated. She has become bed bound, unable to speak, and is confined to her
room. Her family visits every single day. Once every couple weeks they also bring fresh flowers
and decorate the room. They always spoke about how much Mrs. Banks enjoyed the outdoors and
how they wished she could go outside if only for a little while. This is when I found the perfect
time to perform my act of kindness. I work every Saturday and Sunday, when management is not
in the facility, so it made it easy to do this with Mrs. Banks. With help from a few of my fellow
nurses we bathed Mrs. Banks, bought her a new sundress, and carefully lifted her into a recliner
chair with wheels that allowed her to be easily manuvured. Then attentively moved her to our patio
area on the rear end of our facility. She could not speak, but they joy in her eyes said it all. When
her daughters and grandson arrived they seemed concerned when Mrs. Banks was not in her room.
Without saying a word I led them out to our patio where their mother was resting quietly. The smile
had not budged from her wrinkled face. The daughters were
The Fuel Of The Diesel Engine
The diesel engine has been the number one choice for power, reliable and high fuel economy
worldwide (Jääskeläinen, 2013). However, as petroleum becomes more and more expensive, the new
challenge that has been presented to todays society has been to find a sustainable way to continue
running these engines without relying on diminishing petrol supplies (Connolly, 2013). The world
has turned to biofuels; the use of biodieselcan produce power, performance and economy, along
with assisting in the reduction of emissions and Greenhouse gases. However, its widespread use
has been halted due to the ethical issues surrounding its production. The use of agricultural land for
the use of bio fuels, detriments the mass food crisis and insecurity that the world faces. Is it really
ethical to be using bio fuels to cut carbon emissions, which in turn could lead to millions of people
in Asia starving to death?
The inventor of the diesel engine, Dr. Rudolf Diesel, first conceptualised Biodiesel fuel in 1895. He
generated and demonstrated a diesel engine that used peanut oil as its main fuel source in 1900 at
the Paris World Exhibition, as he viewed using vegetable oil fuel as a means to provide economic
growth in remote areas of the world due to widely available agricultural crops as the source of the
fuel (Diesel Service and Supply, 2013). In Australia, the use of bio diesel in the transport industry
has been under much debate. Bio diesel is produced through a process knows as
The Leadership Styles of General Robert E. Lee and General...
The leadership styles of General Robert E. Lee and General Grant during the Civil War. Ulysses
S. Grant was not as well known at the start of the Civil War as Robert E. Lee but proved to be just
as valuable during the war. As a soldier, Grant believed, When in doubt, fight. And he did fight. He
won fame for demanding unconditional (complete) surrender from the Southern commanders he
was fighting. In fact, people in the North began saying Grant s initials, U.S., stood for
Unconditional Surrender. In battle, Grant was tough and hard. He was not a retreating man. Soon
Grant was made a general. He became a leading figure of the war in the West. In 1863 he captured
the city of Vicksburg, Mississippi. He starved the city into surrender.... Show more content on

As a rule, West Point trained generals held citizen soldiers and officers in low regard. Not Lee; he
understood those whom he led, he appreciated their sacrifices for what they believed in, and
adapted his leadership to suit them. The Army of Northern Virginia was a collection of citizen
soldiers from the various Confederate states, not a professional army of career soldiers. Southerners
of the nineteenth century, and indeed most Americans at the time, held intensely local sympathies;
loyalties to community and state were usually more important than conceptions of American
patriotism. Grant perceived one strategic imperative: A focus on the enemy s armies through
maneuver and offensive action. Lincoln agreed with Grant in this respect, but he also operated
under a second strategic imperative. Faced with this opposition, Grant used dialogue and
negotiation to get his essential point across where his predecessors had failed. Grant did this by
employing integrative, or collaborative, bargaining, an approach that uses shared interests and
cooperation to arrive at a satisfactory outcome. Grant and Lincoln agreed on the end result they
desired, and they really did agree on the overall approach just not on the specific question of a line
of operation. Grant was able to convince Lincoln of the soundness of his overall plan, and as a
result, he got much of it implemented. Grant was at his best as a strategic leader because he
