2004 Madrid Bombings
The 2004 Madrid Bombings and The 2005 London Bombings On March 11, 2004 10 bombs
exploded on four trains in Madrid on the rush hour morning. 191 people were killed and 2000 were
injured. The bombs were set off from mobile phones. Madrid s Atocha station seemed to be the
terrorist main target. It was the worst terror attackin Spain s history, the work of a radical Jihadist
cell loosely linked to al Qaida (Murado). 21 people were convicted in the Madrid bombing. The
main people involved in the attack was: Jamal Zougam, Jose Emilio Suarez Trashorras, and Basel
Ghalyoun. Jamal Zougam was the one who ran a mobile shop in Madrid. Jose Emilio Suarez

The Negative Effects Of Office Beliefs In The Workplace
Office gossip is one of the worst problems that can happen in the workforce. When an employee
tries to spread a rumor or something that an employee did, it can have a negative effect in the work
space. There are multiple ways that office gossip can happen and there are ways to remedy the
situation as well. Unfortunately, office gossip is something that cannot be avoided as it is human
nature to bring rumors into the office. There are, however, ways to avoid the situation. Most
workers would choose to avoid talking with others and not sharing their personal life with fellow
coworkers. While it is acceptable to avoid talking about personal lives with other staff, keeping to
themselves do not make an effective team. The first way to avoid office gossip is simple, but not as
easy. It involves not starting the rumorin the first place. By not starting rumors in the first place,
there would be no problems in the first place. Because rumors start from somewhere, then there is a
problem already in the office. For example, if I was an employee looking to get a promotion with
better pay, but was in competition with another coworker, it stands to reason that I would do
anything I can to get the promotion. But when my competition learned that I did something that the
management would frown upon, he starts spreading it across the office space in an attempt to break
my chances of obtaining the promotion. If the bosses found out, not only would I lose the
promotion, there is now a
Aging in America Essay 2
We all will one day face the reality of growing older. There are many aspects of this change that will
affect us in a large way. According to the Merck Manual of Health and Aging, 1.5% of Americans
are 85 or older. This research states that the number of people 100 years or older could rise from 1
out of 5,578 in the year 2000, to 1 out of 472 in the year 2050. It brings out that women have a
longer life expectancy than men, among people aged 65 and older in the year 2000, there were 70
men for every 100 women. For people aged 85 and older the figure was 41 men for every 100
women. The site goes on to say that approximately 11% of Americans aged 65 and older are below
the poverty line. (The Merck Manual of Health and Aging:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Participation in physical activity has been shown to have many health benefits for older adults; this
study does not provide strong support that it protects against cognitive decline. Reports have been
made that physical activity may help guard against stroke and coronary heart disease, both of which
may be associated with the development of dementia. Some studies were either limited in their scope
or had short follow up times. In all they find that for older adults, physical activity alone may not
protect against cognitive decline. (By Charnicia E. Huggins: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus

Persuasive Essay On Dating
Introduction
Individuals date for a variety of reasons. Some date for entertainment and companionship, while
others date for potential partners. Dating is an exciting way to socially interact with others while
learning if they are a compatible match; however, dating can be challenging and frustrating at times.
Before the modern era, dating was viewed as a courtship, in which a couple prepared for marriage.
The acceptance of overlapping relationship without commitment makes dating so different today
(Cohen 2015). The lack of commitment in dating gives individuals a chance to explore the dating
world and their options with no repercussions. Later in life, older people including divorced
couples and unmarried singles are out on the dating scene looking for love. There are multiple
ways to find a partner from speed dating to online dating. Billions of dollars are accumulated each
year with online dating, where people are looking to interact with others and potentially find a
companion. Dating is an important part of life with many benefits including self knowledge and
personal growth. However, dating can be stressful when meeting up for the first time, because of all
the mixed emotions and awkward moments. First dates are important, it can the beginning of a
potential match made in heaven or the date from your worst nightmare. First date Scripts
First date scripts are expectations from a man or woman preparing for a date; such as picking up
your date, going to the movies, taking your date out for dinner, etc. These are some of the things
I am used to doing, when I am on a date. Usually, the male is the person who pays for the date,
although, the female may pay at times. Opening doors and giving your date flowers are something
all women expect on their first date. For younger generations, going on dates is about being
adventurous and having lots of fun. Hooking up on a first date is always a possibility compared to
when women waited until marriage to get intimate with their partner. Hooks up are casual sex
between two consenting adults with no promise of commitment. Young adults want to avoid
relationship problems and the stress of being in a committed relationship. Dating is a way for young
adults to experience

A U.S. TRANSPORT plane touched down at Guantanamo Bay at about 2:15 p.m. ET. Speaking on
condition of anonymity, military officials told NBC that about 15 detainees were aboard the flight,
including some who were unable to walk because of their wounds.
White military trucks drove onto the runway, apparently to help bring the disabled prisoners on
stretchers to secure facilities at the U.S. base, NBC News Mary Murray reported from an
observation point near Guantanamo. The wounded will be evaluated for medical treatment at the
base s hospital, officials said. They said future flights would bring in additional wounded, and an air

forbade the exposing of captives to public curiosity.
I would consider this (the publication) incompatible with the Geneva Convention, he said.
But the Swiss based humanitarian group declined to comment on what the photographs said about
the conditions under which the prisoners were being held.
The Red Cross team had initially intended to spend a week in Guantanamo but the arrival of more

They are going to be open ended because there are more prisoners being flown in, and in any case
there have to be follow up sessions, he said.

The Importance Of The ERA
I believe that we don t need the ERA. During our debate I was part of anti ERA group. As the
intense debate ended my views didn t change. I did learn a lot more by spending time researching
the topic. By doing all of the research it made it more clear to me that we don t need to the ERA.
I think that my side s strongest argument was about equal pay, and the court cases that helped
women by using the ERA. Our argument about equal pay was supported by lots of research and
facts. The two main court cases we picked were Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson in 1986 and Craig
v. Boren. Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson case found that a claim of hostile environment sexual
harassment is a form of sex discrimination that may be brought under Title VII of
Zoot Suit Riots Summary
In the United States, and especially in border states such as California, Mexican immigrants and
Mexican Americans have had to live with constant racism and discrimination throughout the better
part of the twentieth century. Finally, after years of trying to assimilate and live up to the American
standard, tempers finally reached their boiling point. The accumulation of pent up tension over the
years between the Anglo and Mexican communities reached its limit. The end result was the Zoot
SuitRiots. There are several important factors to take into consideration for the cause of the riots. It
is important to understand what Zoot Suits symbolized for the youths who expressed themselves
through it, the events leading up to the riots, and how ultimately, the relationship between the Anglo
and Mexican and Mexican American communities changed, tensions rose, after the riots occurred....

According to the author of The Zoot Suit and Style Warfare, Stuart Cosgrove, the zoot suit style
may have originated in African American neighborhoods, like Harlem, in New York City. Cosgrove
points out, that first the style was a way for African American youth to show how they were not to
be seen as less than. The style is described as extravagant, it is a suit that is normally a bit baggy on
the body, but dressier than what young people, mostly young men, were expected to wear on a daily
basis. Although the style was meant to serve as an empowering statement for African American
youth, for Chicano youth, the style seemed to signify gang activity to the Anglo community. This
already shows how tensions between the two communities were close to erupting even before the
riots. There was major distrust and suspicion from Anglos towards the Chicano community simply
because they felt their style was different and not what patriotic Americans should

The Characters Of Moses In The Old Testament
The Old Testament in the bible is a very outstanding it has different amounts of books that
compromise the Old Testament differences between Christian Churches as well as the names
throughout the bible. It has 39 marvelous books in the bible, that tell different stories about
important people and how they change the world that we live in today. If I had to pick on a
character I would have to pick Moses.Moses, he is a character in the Old Testament and a prophet
that was picked to lead Israel out of Egyptian slavery, and delivered the Ten Commandments. Moses
was born 1400 BC in New Kingdom of Egypt, he is the son of Amram and Yochebed, and had
siblings named Miriam and Aaron. Moses had a lot of strengths in the Old Testament he guided
people to battle against Egypt, he defended slaves, and fought the men who harmed the women.
His weakness would have to be he was a very weak speaker and struggles with anger weakness. In
Exodus 2:11 says One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were
and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own
people. In Hebrews 11:24 says, By faith Moses when he was grown up, refused to be called the
son of Pharaoh s daughter. However, the forty years of Moses s life he had a mother figured that
was a princess for the Egyptians. She took Moses in and made him realize that he was becoming a
man, she had very emotional problems for being his birth mother. Later on, he started to
Sherlock Adler Personality
Irene Adler, a classic femme fatale, is a pivotal character in Holmes` stories. Sherlock defines her as
The Woman , distinguishing her from other female characters towards whom he was totally
indifferent. This how Dr. Watson describes Sherlock`s attitude to Adler:
...In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. It was not that he felt any
emotion akin to love for Irene Adler. All emotions, and that one particularly, were abhorrent to his
cold, precise but admirably balanced mind... Grit in a sensitive instrument, or a crack in one of his
own high power lenses, would not be more disturbing than a strong emotion in a nature such as his.
And yet there was but one woman to him, and that woman was the late Irene Adler, of dubious ...

Frida Kahlo Exposed Her Soul on Canvas

Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico City on July 7, 1907. Though she wanted many to believe that she
was born in 1910, the year of the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. Her father was a photographer
of Hungarian Jewish decent, and her mother was Spanish and Native American. From an early age
Frida s life would be marked by years of physical suffering. At the age of six she was stricken with
polio, this left her right leg to appear much thinner than the other, as well as leaving her with a
limp. Though she suffered dearly as a child, she was fearless and brave. She was also extremely
intelligent.

they would be remarried again in one short year. They both loved each other very much he was

also had many lovers both men and women, such as Leon Trotsky and Georgia O?Keefe, but Diego
was her true lover her comrade and artistic counterpart. Most of Frida?s works depict her personal
saga, her struggle with the disabilities she suffered as a result of her accident and her turbulent
marriage to Diego, her involvement with the Communist party and the Mexican Revolution. Frida?s
art was influenced by a surge of nationalism known as Mexicandad.

This ideology would be prevalent in her paintings by the usage of native imagery, vivid colors and
her sense of self. She herself wore traditional costumes and elaborately braided her hair with

Frida was already a strikingly beautiful woman with long dark hair, striking features, and her

My Favorite Experience In Life
I took a deep breath. I could hear casual laughter and murmurs as friends behind me quoted classic
lines from Billy Madison. How could they be so nonchalant? My cue was coming up. What if I
missed it? What if I tripped? What if I forgot my lines? Worse yet, what if the audience glimpsed
past the façade of my gregarious character? What if they saw (and judged) the real me?

Somehow, through all my anxious chatter, I heard another voice in my head. The voice of my
encouraging father and his cognitive psychology. It s not fear; it s excitement! Fear and excitement
produce the same biochemical, so they re really the same thing. It s just how you choose to view
them. I repeated the thought. It s not fear it s excitement. Slowly the pit in my stomach became an
adrenaline rush. I heard my cue and stepped on stage.

Yes, I am in theater, or I was, but I wouldn t consider myself a theater person. Sure, I enjoy classic
movie nights of Monty Python, Spinal Tap, Mel Brooks and Donnie Darko. I enjoy my theater
friends, and I enjoy theater itself along with all the other humanities, but I m not very dramatic. In
fact, I spend most of my life trying NOT to be reactive or dramatic. And, I don t enjoy being the
center of attention. I hate it.

As a child, I was so crippled by my shyness that whenever an adult (a waiter or a friend s parent)
would ask me a question, I would whisper my reply into my best friend s ear. She served as an
interpreter, or my spokesperson. By upper
