Common challenges faced in the Transport Industry :

Problem Why It Exists SaaS Solution

1. Emergency Support - No structured SOP for - In-app SOS trigger for

During Breakdown or emergencies on emergencies with issue type
Accidents highways selector

- Driver dependency on - GPS + vehicle metadata

local knowledge or pushed to backend
unverified vendors microservice

- Delays due to lack of - Nearby verified garages

support
- Option to call, assign help,
- Poor coordination share location
between fleet managers
and on-ground drivers

2. Inaccurate & Delayed - No integration - GPS-based mapping of

Expense and Fuel between fuel payment fuel receipt to route point
Tracking methods and trip
planning softwares. - Driver wallet(Something
similar to phonepe : which
- Manual entries and would only work at the
cash-based driver agreed petrol
operations stations)expense upload
module
- Lack of visibility into
trip-wise fuel - OCR-based receipt
consumption or fraud scanning for faster approvals

- No process for - Fuel efficiency dashboard

Problem Statement Chosen:

A vehicle transporting furniture from Bangalore to Mumbai via NH 48 is scheduled
to complete its journey within 24 hours, including rest stops. Midway through the
trip, the truck breaks down near Pune, approximately 160 kilometers from Mumbai.

Upon receiving an instant alert through the Smart Emergency Assist feature, the fleet
owner is presented with two immediate in-app options:

1. Coordinate Truck Transfer-

Use TransportSimple’s internal fleet network to identify a return vehicle
headed from Mumbai to Bangalore, ensuring minimal delay in cargo delivery.
The fleet owner is shown:

○ ETA for delivery to Mumbai

○ Transfer time required

○ Additional costs (if any)

2. Connect with Emergency Garages -

Access a verified vendor map showing nearby 24/7 emergency garages and
on-road service providers with real-time availability and ETA.

This feature minimizes operational disruption, protects time-sensitive cargo, and

provides critical driver support — all with zero manual intervention.

Rough Outline of the Feature Proposed :

System Design & User Flow :

1. Emergency Triggered by the Driver

When a driver or helper faces a breakdown or any urgent issue on the road, they can
raise an SOS directly through the TransportSimple app. They just select the problem
type:

● Mechanical breakdown | Accident

● Flat tyre or battery issue

● Fuel shortage

Once submitted, the system captures all the context: their location, truck details,
what they’re carrying, and their current route.

2. Instant Location & Vehicle Details Captured

As soon as the SOS is raised, the app:

● Picks up the exact GPS location

● Collects key info like truck ID, driver info, cargo value, and ETA

● Sends everything to the emergency response team instantly

This ensures the fleet owner and our backend team have all the right information
to take action — without wasting time on phone calls.

3. Fleet Owner Gets Alert + Two Smart Options

The fleet owner (or ops manager) receives an instant alert on their dashboard +
phone.

They can choose between two actionable solutions right there:

Option A: Nearby Verified Garages

● The system shows a ranked list of emergency garages nearby.

● These are filtered based on distance, whether they’re open 24/7, their service
quality, and pricing.

● The fleet owner can call the garage, share the truck's location, or even get
real-time directions — all in one click.

Option B: Truck Transfer to Another Vehicle

● If the breakdown is serious, they can transfer the cargo to another truck
nearby.
● The platform automatically suggests other trucks in the area that have free
space and high driver ratings.

● Fleet owners can chat or call each other directly from the app to coordinate.

● Cargo handover is digitally logged and insured — so there’s zero confusion

and full accountability.

4. Incident Is Fully Tracked Until Resolution

Every emergency creates a ticket in the system. It’s tracked across stages like:

● SOS Triggered

● Help Assigned

● On the Way

● Problem Resolved

Everything is recorded in one place — so fleet owners, transport heads, and our
internal teams can review incidents, measure response time, and improve future
handling.

Gamification – Incentives for Vendors

To grow the trusted vendor ecosystem, TransportSimple uses:

● Performance-based incentives:

○ Complete 10+ breakdowns/month = Extra 12% payout

○ Top-rated vendors get priority listings

○ Quick responders (within 10 mins) get gold status

● Badges & visibility to help vendors grow

This builds a healthy competitive environment and improves service quality.

Business Model Explained

TransportSimple can earn money through:

● Subscription Model for fleets (₹ per truck/month)

● Pay-per-use Model for emergency resolution

○ ₹99 per SOS trigger

○ ₹199 per successful garage assignment

○ ₹349 per truck transfer coordination

Example Calculation:

Scenario Revenue

50 breakdowns/month 50 x ₹99 = ₹4,950

30 garage assignments 30 x ₹199 = ₹5,970

10 truck transfers 10 x ₹349 = ₹3,490

Monthly Revenue ₹14,410 (per fleet)

With 100 fleets onboard, monthly platform revenue = ₹14.4 Lakhs

Prioritization – RICE Framework :

Criteria Score Reason

Reach High Applicable to 60%+ of highway trips; all

asset-heavy clients

Impact High Reduces SLA violations and improves safety

Confidence Medium-High High need, medium complexity in vendor

Risk Mitigation

Risk Why It’s a Problem Mitigation Strategy

1. Poor quality Subpar repairs can lead to - Only onboard verified and
garage work further breakdowns, delays, rated vendors with service
and poor customer history
experience
- Monthly performance reviews
with feedback from fleet owners

- Blacklisting of
underperforming garages

2. Delayed Time-sensitive cargo can - Enforce a 15-minute SLA for

response from miss delivery SLAs if vendor vendor acknowledgment
vendor takes too long to respond
- Tiered vendor levels: Gold,
Silver, Bronze based on
average response

- Frequent delays =
auto-demotion and reduced
visibility
3. Liability for Handing over goods to - In-app digital transfer form
transferred cargo another truck can lead to signed by both parties with
theft, damage, or disputes timestamp, weight, cargo type

- Pre-linked insurance policies

to cover mid-route transfer
damages

4. No vendor In rural areas, breakdowns - Tie-ups with emergency

nearby (remote may not have verified response partners for
locations) vendors around PAN-India support

- Fallback mode: Show nearby

local listings with community
ratings

- 24x7 transport command

center support

5. Driver misuse Drivers may misuse or - App logs location + issue +

of SOS button trigger help requests image (optional) before
unnecessarily confirming SOS

- Random audits of SOS events

by ops team

- False triggers = warning to

driver; repeated misuse =
penalty deducted from wallet
