2 Backing Up Service and System Data
2.1 Overview
The following instructions describe how to back up Service and Patient data on the CD/DVD and USB
memory stick.
2.1.1 Workflow

Blank CD/DVD (as appropriate for system configuration)
USB memory stick

2.2 Backup Service Data
Use the following steps to backup Service data to the CD/DVD or USB drives.
01 Power on the system and wait for it to boot up.
02 Click Presets on the control panel to display the Preset window.
03 Select Service from the left pane.
04 Click Service menu.
05 The Service Authentication window displays. Enter the SAL password or delete the entire password
entry. Click OK.
i If “Set as Default” is checked, the left 14 digits of password are stored for the next
logon.
06 Select Backup & Restore.

07 Select Backup from the drop-down menu.

08 Insert the CD/DVD or USB memory stick into the system.
09 The QuikSet Utility displays the saved Quikset list. Select the desired quiksets for back up and then
click Next.

11 Select the CD/DVD or USB on the Backup List window. If the USB is selected, select the connected drive
from the drop-down list.

12 Click Backup to begin. Wait until the progress bar reaches 100%. When the progress is completed, the
Backup completed successfully message is displayed.

i If the CD/DVD or USB does not have sufficient storage for backing up the data, the
“Backup Failed” message is displayed.
13 Click OK, and then click Home to return to the service software main window.
2.3 Backup Patient Data
Use the following procedure to backup Patient data to the CD/DVD or USB drives.
Backup of patient data is the customer responsibility to protect patient privacy and data
records according to HIPAA. In case of an upgrade, patient data is stored in the D:\ drive,
i so it is not necessary to back up the patient data before beginning software upgrade or
update. If the D:\ drive is full or close to being full, it is recommended that the data be
backed up. It may slow down the system if it is not backed up.
01 Power On the system and wait for the system to boot up completely.
02 Insert the CD/DVD or USB memory stick to the system.
03 Press Patient Browser key to view the Study window.

If the CD/DVD status is "Unknown," make sure that the CD/DVD is inserted, and click
i LOAD to recognize the CD/DVD. Confirm that the CD/DVD status changes from
“Unknown” to “Ready”.
04 Verify that Local Disk is selected in the Archive Source drop-down menu. Select the patient exams to
be copied from the drop-down list.

05 Select between CD/DVD and USB for the export storage from the Export/Import Pane.

06 Click Export and wait for the progress bar to be completed.
