The Prison Reform System Is The Main Objectives Of The...
Since the introduction of the prison systems to humanity, people have always tried to think of ways
to improve upon it. Prison, is and has been seen as the primary punishment against criminal acts.
But, prison is no longer seen as just a form of punishment it is also seen as a form of rehabilitation.
Now, seen as the main objectives of the modern penal system. We can still incorporated new methods
to effectively rehabilitate convicts and make the reintegration process for them much easier. One of
these possible solutions is, prisonreform.
The prison reform system is great as it is a practical, effective, and successful alternative to
incarceration. And with that being said, I strongly believe the prison reform system should be

society and the grounds are modeled similarly to that of a village to ease their transition back into
society and insure it goes as smoothly as possible.
They are housed in 112 square foot cells, and receive a private toilet, shower, unbarred windows,
and a flat screen television. The minimum size acceptable in Canada is around 40% smaller.
Inmates are also allowed a weekly visit to the prison supermarket where they use money earned
while working in the prison. They make over $8.31 a day which is equal to 53 Norwegian krones.
Inmates even have access to a kitchen where up to 10 inmates may use at the same time. In Canada
inmates may only have access to the kitchen if they are part of the kitchen staff. Canadian inmates
also average around $3.00 daily. By the way that was an example of a maximum security prison. A
minimum security prison is similar, except everything is noticeably better. Inmates are equipped a
cell key, make $9.30 daily, and may participate in activities like skiing, fishing, running, street
training, tennis, horseback riding, and swimming. Guards don t carry weapons as they believe it
would adjectate inmates. And to continue with the craziness, at times minimum security prison may
have as little as three guard in the 115 inmate facilities.
How is any of this relevant? well in the thirty three years that this system has been used only a
handful of inmates have tried escaping (none of which were

The Characteristics Of The Human Condition
The Human condition is a concept about the characteristics, key events and situations which
compose the essentials of human existence as we know it. Humans today are unique in many
different ways. Each individual today is unique despite being connected through life, death, and
emotional journeys which we all endure. The way individual s express emotions through actions or
words may be different than the rest of society. The different ethics and morals that an individual has
are also expressed differently with each individual.
An example of how humans deal with different emotions, Stephen Paddock, 64 of Mesquite,
Nevada. On October 1st, 2017 Stephen Paddock opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 people, killing
59 and injuring over 500 more. To this date, this is the deadliest shooting in Modern American
history. It was known that Paddock had a horrible gambling problem, spending thousands of
dollars a day at the Vegas Casinos. This problem of gambling may have led to why Paddock
committed such a gruesome and horrific crime. These actions raise a few questions. Are humans
naturally evil or good? Are we selfish or altruistic? Personally I don t believe there is a correct
answer to these, while Paddock is seen as an evil individual by most of society, each individual s
thoughts and reasoning are unique. The answers behind these questions are constructed through your
experiences in this journey of life, and not one person lives the same life with the same experience in
the same social environment.
In the film Fight Club, the narrator and his alter ego help form a place where other people can go
and be someone different. The narrator in the film suffers from insomnia and having a materialistic
mindset. This is different from how humans used to think. In the primitive ages of humans, they
were not focused on having the newest item on the market, they were focused on living and
providing for their family. Different from the minds of humans in todays world, humans now need
the latest and greatest object to feel like there life has any meaning. In the film the narrator s
apartment gets blown up buy his alter ego, know as Tyler Dunden in the film. After this happens the
narrator says It s only after we ve lost
Racial Profiling and Male African Americans
Racial Profiling and Male African Americans

Racial profiling has been and will continue to be a problem in the United States. Many believe
that racial profiling is more prevalent in today s society; however, this issue has been a part of
our society since slavery. Moreover, African American males are mostly the targets of racial
profiling, especially in larger cities like New York City and Los Angeles. Racial profiling is
becoming a huge problem within the police departments. Police officers are conducting more traffic
stops on African Americans males than on any other racial group, for the reason that many police
officers believe African Americans males are most likely to be engaged in some sort of criminal
activity. Thus, racial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The principle of law enforcement and the principle of equality among African American males make
this issue even more difficult to analyze (Persico, 2002).
According to Delores (2007), although, many things in policing have changed as far as policies
goes, many things will remain the same. Changes to the police policy were to improve the image of
police in certain communities, and impact citizens in a positive way through trust and satisfaction.
However, Delores (2007) states, officers perceive African American males as people who are capable
of wrongdoing even though a crime has yet to be committed. In addition, in noncriminal or
minimal criminal activities police view male African Americans as the most dangerous. Police
officers developed ways to recognize certain kind of people, as emblematic assailants, meaning,
police recognize the gesture, attire, language of a person, which is then perceive as a prelude to
violence. However, sometimes officers make mistakes and innocent citizens like African American
males end up paying the ultimate price. In 1998, four African American males name Keyshon
Moore, Rayshawn Brown, LeRoy Jarmaine Grant and Danny Reyes all fell victims to racial
profiling. The four victims were on their way to a
30 Years War Essay
The four stages of the Thirty Years War, which was fought mostly in the Holy Roman Empire
(modern Germany), involved nearly all of the major powers of Europe, and was a war that used
religion as a cover up for politics. The war caused the demise of the Holy Roman Empire, and the
rise of France as the new power in Europe. During the war new technologies also were used. The
Thirty Year s War was ended by the peace of Westphalia in 1648. Before the war, the Holy Roman
Empire already began to have its struggles. In 1555, the Peace of Augsburg was recognized. It
stated that the individual prince of the Holy Roman Empire could determine the religion of his
subjects. The Peace of Augsburg was unraveling as some converted bishops had not... Show more

The Bohemians elected Fredrick V as their new king. Ferdinand then called upon his cousin, King
Philip II of Spain for help. Ferdinand formed an army to oppose the Bohemians. Count Bucquoy,
an Austrian Catholic, won a huge battle against the Protestants at Sablat in June of 1619. The
battle caused the Protestant to loose an ally in Savoy. The Spanish sent an army under the
command of Ambrosio Spinola to aid Ferdinand. In the fall of 1620, the Spanish and Holy Roman
Empire s army advanced on the Protestant forces in Bohemia. On November 8, 1620, the
Protestants were defeated at the Battle of the White Mountain. Fredrick s defeat earned him the
nickname the Winter King . Tilly, commander of a Catholic force caught up with the reminder of
the Bohemian protestant force, and defeated them at the Battle of Stadtlohn in 1623. The Catholics
were victorious in the first phase. This battle was the last major battle of the Bohemian phase of the
Thirty Years War . The second or Danish Phase lasted from 1625 1629. It received its name from
the involvement of the king of Denmark, Christian IV. He was a Lutheran, so he supported the
Protestants. Other reasons also include political rivalries with the Holy Roman Empire . The country
of Denmark had enormous wealth that was unmatched anywhere else in Europe. France, under
Regent Cardinal Richelieu, agreed to subsidize the war. Cardinal Richelieu was indeed a Catholic, but
The Similarities Of Delphi And Olympia
Sanctuaries have been seen throughout ancient Greece. A sanctuary has been defined as a sacred
area for rituals, cultural activities, musical, theatrical, sports, and drama events. These events had a
dual purpose of entertaining and religious activities. Activities could be civic religious based, or
mystery religious based. Two major examples of sanctuaries in ancient Greece consist of Delphiand
Olympia. Delphi and Olympia have specific functions that share similarities, yet simultaneously
differ through buildings, activities performed, and corresponding history of each site. When
focusing on Delphi and Olympia, an important note to make consists of Delphi and Olympia
having broad similarities, but when investigating further, their differences appear specifically in
certain features. Delphi s and Olympia s similarities have been seen through the features at each
site. For a sanctuary to be truly defined as a sanctuary, the site must have an altar and peribolos.
The altar and peribolos are important because the altar allows the people to worship their god
/goddess, and the periobolo distinguishes the sacred area from the non sacred area. The site can
also include propylon, a sacred way, temple, and ancillary building. A propylon is a monumental
gate which has the purpose of highlighting the importance of the area. A sacred way is where the
processions occur. The temples are not sanctuaries, but erected to show off the altar. They altar had a

Theme Between The Great Gatsby And The Truman Dream
The American Dream, a concept of which every American is granted equal opportunity allowing the
highest aspirations to be achieved and every person to live a better, richer and fuller life. Throughout
films The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show directors Baz Luhrman and Peter Weir both depict a
message to society presenting the unfulfilling reality of this pursuit. Both directors present this idea
through the use of stylistic features, film techniques and conventions including setting, costuming,
characterisation, structure, style, camera angles, sound and lighting.

When comparing settings between The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show both films are very
different however both communicate the same idea of the perfect lifestyle of the American
dream. Luhrman uses a wealthy 1920 s lifestyle set in Long Island, New York City, dividing the
island into two areas known as the west egg and the east egg which can also be represented as old
money and new money. In the 1920 s and still to this day Long Island was home of the rich and
famous upper class citizens. Early in the film the audience is presented with an establishing shot
of Gatsby s mansion. Nick describes Gatsby s mansion by saying, The one on my right was a
colossal affair by any standard it was a factual imitation of some Hotel de Ville in Normandy, with
a tower on one side, spanking new under a thin beard of raw ivy, and a marble swimming pool, and
more than forty acres of lawn and garden. Gatsby s mansion
