Synopsis Of The Film Rosebud
Summary of the Film 1. The contributors to the film are Orson Welles and Herman J.
Mankiewicz. Welles is the director and writer, and Mankiewicz is also one of the writers. 2. The
main characters are Orson Welles (Charles Kane), Joseph Cotten (Jedediah Leland), and Dorothy
Comingore (Susan Alexander Kane). 3. The main source of conflict is Kane trying to hide his
affair with Susan from the print media. He does not want the scandal to ruin his chances of
becoming governor of New York. Another conflict is a reporter trying to discover what the meaning
of Kane s last word, Rosebud, is. 4. A reporter has been assigned to discover the significance of
Charles Kane s last word, Rosebud. The reporter takes a look back at Kane s life to dissect his
political career and love affair to find the answer.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main symbol that reoccurs in the film is a sled. The first sled is shown at the beginning of
the film when Kane, as a child, is playing on it in the snow. This sled is a major part of Kane s
childhood because this specific sled made him feel joyous and lighthearted. The fuss about his last
murmured word, Rosebud, is the name of Kane s sled; it was meaningful to his life and is an
important aspect of the film. The sled was later shown when Kane s belongings were burned soon
after he died. The sled represented Kane s happiness and innocence. The film s sound effects and
instrumental music range from soft to loud, depending on the scenario. The music used is consistent
with the situations that occur. For example, the music playing while young Charles Kane is being
told that he has to go away with his mother s banker is smooth and then becomes intense. During this
scene, the viewer can hear a combination of instruments such as flutes, violins, and tubas. The
powerful instrumental music lasts for a couple of minutes to emphasize how upsetting the news is
for Kane. In general, the sound effects and music accentuate the emotions the characters are
expressing or trying to
Comparing The Sword Swallower And A Weaving Kid
The Sword Swallower and a Chico Kid is written about two men in contrast with one another as
far as, being from two very different society status/walks of life but despite their different up
brings/background both men have one thing in common and that is an addiction to drugs and
alcohol. The book begins telling the story of Duke Reynolds (The Sword Swallower) whom at
the age of 15 ran away from home joining the circus living the life of a sideshow freak . The next
part of the book is about Gary (Chico Kid) who went from a straight A high school student and
how he began drinking and drugging partying after going to college. The last part of The Sword
Swallower and a Chico Kid is the transformation of in the lives of both of the men. There are a
couple of things that I like about this book. First, I like the thoroughness of detail in some parts
of the book. For example when reading about the circus acts it is like being there seeing it with
my own eyes. I also, like how it gives you an off the stage or behind the scene view of some of the
circus characters and how the interact with each other being more like a big family rather than just
some random people that came together just to put on a show. I believe this sheds a new light on
the fact that just because someone or something may appear different it s so easy just to look at a
person and cast judgement without actually knowing the person for whom he or she is inside.... Show

Along with some chapters or placing in the book I could did not understand what was really going
on or how some characters actually fit into the story line until way later it seemed. In those cases I
would have like to have had more knowledge at the beginning so that I could get a better
understanding of what was going on or were it was the author was trying to take me at that
The Problem Of Juvenile Justice System
Abstract
Every process has room for improvement, but the juvenile justice system can be altered by adding
in possible solutions of what can be done to help this problem in American society. About 100 years
ago, juveniles were always tried as adults. Now, that the government has altered the system for the
better, the government knows that trying juveniles as adults is not always justified. It depends on
the crime, but the majority of the time, juveniles are often always tried as juveniles, based solely
on their age. Not only that has changed; the process of juvenile justice has changed as well to better
help the juveniles in the system. The rights of juveniles in the system have changed so that the
children can improve their lives once they are out of the system. Even though the process has
changed and the rights have improved for the juveniles, there are still many improvements to be
made. Studies show that recidivism rates are in fact going down, but the rate can always be better
so that juveniles do not return to a life of crime.
Juvenile Justice in Contemporary America
Juvenile delinquency has been a problem in the United States ever since it has been able to be
documented. From 100 years ago to now, the process of juvenile delinquency has changed
dramatically; from the way juveniles are tried, to the way that they are released back into society, so
that they do not return back to the justice system (Scott and Steinberg, 2008). Saying this, juveniles
tend to
In Defense of Liberty and Individuality Essay
In Defense of Liberty and Individuality
It is a little known fact that for the past century, every American president has been given a copy of
John Stuart Mill s On Liberty[1] upon entering office. Since its publication in 1859, On Liberty s
discussions of liberty and individuality have been a foundation for modern Western political thought
and for the liberal democracy. Mill brings to light a unique perspective on the relationship between
liberty and individuality, and in the end, on tolerance. According to Mill, individual liberty should be
limited by one, and only one thing: the self preservation of society and other individuals. To that
end, man should be free to act and even more so to think in any form he wishes, ... Show more

The aim, therefore, of patriots, was to set limits to the power which the ruler should be suffered to
exercise over the community; and this limitation was what they meant by liberty (On Liberty, 4).
These reforms were leading to the democratization of culture and government the transition that
Mill sees around him putting power in the hands of the people. This was supposed to remove the
possibility of tyranny, but Mill is not convinced. He sees two types of tyranny unaccounted for:
tyranny of the majority, where the many persecute the few, and tyranny of public opinion, in which
society seeks to impose a set of values on everyone. [T]he tyranny of the majority is now generally
included among the evils against which society requires to be on guard (On Liberty, 6). Mill sees
the need for laws to protect against both types of tyranny.
After noting that many nations have tried and failed at this feat, he offers his own solution.
Society or an individual may interfere with individual rights if and only if it is necessary to
protect itself. [T]he sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or collectively, in
interfering with the liberty of action of any of their members, is self protection...[h]is own good,
either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant (On Liberty, 11). Mill uses a Hobbesian notion of
self preservation as the cornerstone of his
The Hospitality Industry At Wyndham
The US Department of Labor estimates that approximately 15.5 million people work in the
hospitality industry, one that generates around 500 billion dollars a year. The industry is full of
talent but the industry is competitive. With many big names like Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Hyatt
(all on the Top 100 Companies to Work For list) vying for the best talent, hospitality companies must
offer not only good salaries but other benefits to attract talent. Currently, I work in that industry for
Wyndham Worldwide, a fantastic companyin the hospitality industry. Wyndham is one of the
leading companies in the industry for many attributes such as number of properties, customer
services, environmental and social responsibility and employee satisfaction and I am proud to be a
part of such a great company. Wyndham truly cares for its employees and offers them fantastic
benefits and growth opportunities. However, I want to learn more about another company in the
hospitality that has a reputation of being a great place to work. HyattHotels Corporation, based out
of Chicago, Illinois, offers 667 properties, spanning 54 countries, via 12 brands. Hyatt s services
vary and include development, ownership, management, franchising and licensing, and timeshare.
Hyatt s self proclaimed purpose is to care for people so they can be their best. The company
applies this philosophy, not only to its guests, but its employees as well, which are referred to as the
Hyatt family. Leadership

When situations of this sort do arise this can potentially lead fans away from attending the sporting
events. This also can halt the amount of profit. If there are consistent instances that the gymnasium
has been at capacity that means that it is time for expansion. This will make it that the program and
athletic department can make the maximum profit available. Houston Baptist University has an
enrollment size that is steady growing which means that there will be more fans in attendance at
sporting events. The university has also been steady increasing the marketing of the athletic
department which will continue of the fan growth. This means that athletic facility will have to be
expanded to accommodate individuals that will be in attendance to the sporting events. The pro
about having a facility that is slightly smaller is that it creates an electrifying environment for fans.
At games that are very close and having many screaming fans that creates the atmosphere that
athletes love to play in. It also increases the game experience even more making it even more
memorable for the people in attendance. Sharp recently got a new score board. This game the
facility a more modern feel and get look. Fans can appreciate when they see a facility doing things to
make it better for them. One interesting fact about Sharp is that the facility was built before the
American Disabilities Act went into effect. This means that the facility does not have to be in
compliance with this
A Research Study On Health Promotion, Behavior Change
Abstract Workplace wellbeing has been an important aspect of government and employer focused for
the past few years. Considering that people spend such a large amount of the time at work.
Employment is a key element in promoting good health and the World Health Organization
recognises the workplace as a key avenue for health promotion (WHO, 2015). A systematic literature
search was undertaken to establish the importance of workplace for promotion of good health
practices, particularly in a social cultural context of behavioural changes in nursing field when
encountering different situation at work such as stress and bullying, and how does multicultural
workplace affects behaviour of each staff. Keywords Literature review, systematic,... Show more

Different people (nurses) cope with this in different ways some better than others (Chang, et.al.,
2006). Method Literature search This study began with a database search to locate all the current
and relevant articles about workplace based health promotion. A total of nine articles from the last
ten years have been assessed for relevance for the study. Data Analysis To evaluate the studies,
articles were entered into a literature review matrix, identifying the specific aims of the study,
demographic, methods, major findings, limitations and article focus. Data were analysed using
content analysis to produce a descriptive summary of the content. Results were independently
reviewed within each article and data were analysed to identify the causes of behavioural changes.
Results A total of nine articles from the nine original studies using qualitative and quantitative
research methods met the criteria for inclusion in the study (9 articles with different research
objectives with similar participants). Four out of nine stated that the most common cause of changes
in behaviour is job satisfaction, followed by language and different values and beliefs. Four articles
have been critically analysed to conclude that job satisfaction is the most common cause of
behavioural changes in the workplace (Chang, Daly, Hancock, Bidewell, Johnson, Lambert, Lambert,
2006; Chang, Bidewell, W., Huntington, Daly, J., Johnson, Wilson,
How Is Dating A Big Deal
Datings a Big Deal Maya Angelou once said, Love is like a virus it can happen to anybody at
anytime. Dating can negatively affect my teenagers life if they don t have good manners. It can
also affect them by always worrying about there girl/boyfriend. Dating could positively affect my
teenagers because they could help each other out, and hangout if groups. My teenager can not
hangout if the house if no parents are home. First, if my children are gonna date and friends are
coming over. There must be a parent home at the time. If parents are home nothing is more likely to
happen to either of them. They would be able to go into other rooms of the house. No matter what
no staying the night at each other s house. If no parents are home no going
