Author: William Shakespeare
About the Author: William Shakespeare was an English playwright, poet, and actor,
widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. He wrote numerous
plays and sonnets, with themes ranging from romance and tragedy to history and
comedy.

Genre: Tragedy
SETTING
Describe the Time and Place of the Story: The story is set in the Italian city of Verona
during the Renaissance period. The social atmosphere is characterized by family
loyalty, honor, and the consequences of long-standing feuds.
MAIN CHARACTER
Romeo Montague: The son of the Montague family, who falls deeply in love with Juliet
Capulet.
Juliet Capulet: The daughter of the Capulet family, who returns Romeo's love despite
their families' bitter rivalry.
Details: Other notable characters include Mercutio, Romeo's close friend, Tybalt, Juliet's
cousin, and Friar Laurence, who secretly marries the lovers in hopes of ending the
family feud.

4. Romeo is banished from Verona.
5. Friar Laurence devises a plan to reunite the lovers, but it fails.
6. Romeo and Juliet tragically die, leading their families to end their feud.
EVALUATION OF THE BOOK
What did you think about the book? It is a powerful and emotional story with complex
characters and dramatic events.

characters, can be frustrating.
