Adapting For Graduate School Your Emotional Intelligence...
Adapting to Graduate School Your Emotional Intelligence Journal 1 In the article from idealist.org it
discusses the differences between being an undergraduate student and graduate student. It starts from
saying that you are older, you have the ability to be autonomous and have less structure, the lifestyles
are different, and that in graduate schoolyou poses more of an ability to be structured and organized
as you have more experience. If there is one thing that I have determined just from the first few
weeks of having courses and being an MSW graduate student it is that graduate school is totally
different from undergraduate school, that s for sure! One of the major adaptations that I saw in the
website was the ideaof having... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am used to having the syllabus and starting with the planning in advance. I also don t think that
it helps that I just moved the weekend before class s started and I have not fully unpacked, so my
house is a complete mess. One way that I plan to reconcile this mess , so to speak is by taking the
holiday time off to organize and get my mind set on the fact that this is graduate school, and that
this is real! This is happening weather I want it to or not. Once I get my mind on that set of
tracks, I believe that it will be easier for me to focus my attention on ways that I am able to
complete assignments before the last minute that they are due. I also think that demonstrating some
self awareness is going to be a key factor in gaining the ability to focus my attention to school and
try to balance school, home life, work and field placement at the same time and not burn out. In the
article about emotional intelligence, one key concept that struck me is the idea of being aware of
you. In saying this, I mean the idea that you are able to know what you are feeling, what you are
thinking and know when you should or should not provide self care. I think that another key factor
from this article was when the author talked about relationship and time management. In graduate
school, you are expected to make those initial connections, whether that be with your faculty,
advisors, cohort peers or persons in your field placement. This is one thing
Antecedents in the Life of Bob Ansett
Topic: Personal, sociological and environmental antecedents have been identified in the
entrepreneurial business. You are to find an article on an entrepreneur in a tourism or hospitality
business and discuss your entrepreneur s personal, sociological and environmental antecedents.

Personal, sociological and environmental antecedents experienced by an individual and the

consequences of these antecedents are critical in determining whether that individual has the
capacity to become an entrepreneur or not (Zahra et al. 1999). For the purposes of this essay, the
entrepreneur under discussion is Robert Ansett, an Australian entrepreneur in the transport and
tourism industry. The reason for choosing this individual for this is essay is ... Show more content on

This innate trait of a high need of achievement was one of the sociological antecedents responsible
for the then enormous success of the company.
A third sociological antecedent that relates to this entrepreneur is the ability to lead people to
achieve a vision. Mr. Ansett was a firm believer in employee relations. He applied the philosophy of
taking care of employees to his own leadership style, introducing staff health and fitness programs at
Budget. Keeping his employees inspired was one of Mr. Ansett s main goals at the company and this
resulted in his employees being highly inspired and taking Budget to a strong market position against
competitors (Bob Ansett s Achievements About Bob Ansett n.d.).

The third category of antecedents that have shaped the career of Bob Ansett s entrepreneurial career
are the environmental antecedents. Studies by Petrof (1981) have shown that whether or not an
individual s father has started a company is the key factor that has an impact on the entrepreneurial
process of an individual from an environmental point of view. This ties in with the personal
antecedent as Mr. Ansett was born into a tourism and transport environment with an entrepreneur for
a father. Although he started gaining insights of his father s life only at age 32, this greatly
influenced Mr. Ansett s decision to start his own business and become a
A Study On The Big Data
Abstract Big data is a very important subject in modern times with the rapid advancement of new
technologies for example smartphones, pc/laptops, game consoles, that all in some way gather
information that is stored. Big companies are needing a place to not only store all the data that is
coming in but to also analyze it for specific purposes and at the fastest speed manageable. There are
many different providers out there who provide this service, this paper will talk about one way the
company Googlehandles data using their own special made platform.
1.INTRODUCTION
In modern times, the amount of data being stored is terrifically large. Companies must deal with
such abundance of data on a daily basis in both storing and analyzing as fast as they can. Google
is one such company that not only store data but they analyze data from each user using their
product. The platform used by google for this database management is called BigQuery, which runs
in the cloud and provides real time information. In this survey, the inner working of BigQuery is
glossed over to show how this platform manages to do the job it is supposed to do.
2.WHAT IS BIG DATA
Big data is a vast amount of information, both structured and unstructured, unstructured is
information that is not easy to interpret by traditional databases and structure being the opposite,
which is easy to interpret data made form text or image. Structured or unstructured, the main
business of big data is categorized in to three
Essay on Edgar Allen Poe s Cask of Amontillado
#65279;CASK OF AMONTILLADO Edgar Allen Poe s The Cask of Amontillado is a story of fear
and revenge. The dark side of human nature is exemplified through the character of Montressor and
his victim,
Fortunato. The story begins with Montressor s vow of revenge. This is proven in the first sentence
when Montressor says, The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne best I could; but when he
ventured upon insult, I vowed revenge. Montressor is a manipulative and vengeful person. These
characteristics lead to the death of Fortunato. Through the words, acts, and thoughts of Montressor,
one is able to see him carry out his plan for revenge.

Montressor had to be sure not to raise suspicion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I had told them that I should not return until the morning, and had given explicit orders not to stir
from the house. These orders were sufficient, I well knew, to insure their immediate disappearance,
one and all, as soon as my back was turned. Montressor knew that by telling his servants that he
would be gone until the morning that they would go to the carnival whether he had told them to stay
home or not.

One of the first things that Montressor narrates to the reader is that he ....must not only punish but
punish with impunity. Montressor is manipulative, as he tells Fortunato that he will have someone
else taste the Amontillado, knowing that by doing this Fortunato will feel compelled to taste the
wine himself. As you are engaged, I am on my way to Luchresi. If anyone has a critical turn I is
he. He will tell me... In addition to being manipulative and vengeful, Montressor also displays
condescending traits. Montressor addresses Fortunato in the catacombs by saying, ...your health is
precious. You are rich, respected, admired, beloved; you are happy as once I was. You are a man to
be missed.

Montressor s actions also demonstrate his vengeful and manipulative nature. He lures
Fortunato into the catacombs of his home to carry out his plans. First he caters to
Fortunato s ego by saying that someone else was as good a judge of wine as he. Then

Essay on Downloading Music on the Internet
Who s downloading?

Throughout many years of the computer age there has been much advancement in computer
technology. It first began with the people getting the Internet, then people began to understand the
Internet, and then lastly people learned to overpower the Internet. Within the past several years the
downloading music factor strongly took effect. To the majority of the internet population they tend
to believe there s nothing wrong with getting free tunes, but there is the select few who believe it is
morally wrong. Overall, I truly enjoy having the free access to music; it enables you to try new
music without bother making purchases and having a poor after effect. This is an excellent way to

not a complete loss. The artists believe that having these sites people were going slow down on the

that it was a blow up and the artists should remain calm.
From a recent study it mentioned that a total of 71 % of the people would insist on looking up

that, Why should we spend our hard earned time on music, to just have people get it for free.

When the doctor tells Bruce fear Is why your failing he meant that Bruce needs to accept and
embrace fear as without fear he won t see the point in trying his best to not fall while climbing
instead he just won t care as much about his life. Although the doctor through this dialgoue told
him what he need to do, Bruce misunderstood the meaning behind it and welcomed anger as an
emotion to help him get out. In the beginning of the scene we hear drums being played in the
background which slowly rises up hence building tension until the bit where the doctor says
survival is spirit, the soul. In the exact moment when the doctor says this we hear the sound affect
of gong drum being played once. After sound of the gong drum being played once, the drums being
played in the background returns however this time it get louder and heavier. The director the sound
of the gong drum and the dialogue spoken by the doctor to make the audience know that the doctor
knows exactly what Bruce needs to get out of the pit which makes us as audience know that what he

Essay on Emily Dickinson’s Poem 67, Poem 1036, and Poem 870
Absence and Loss in Emily Dickinson s Poem 67, Poem 1036, and Poem 870

Emily Dickinson often refers to loss and absence in her poetry. It is not often seen as strictly
negative though. It is, however, seen as inevitable. It is not always inevitable in the negative sense
though. It is sometimes seen as necessary in order to understand life. There seems to be an overall
theme of loss being a part of life. This theme can be seen upon examining poems 67, 1036, and 870.

Poem 67 is a good example of Dickinson portraying absence as positive. The lines Success is
counted sweetest / By those who ne er succeed show that success is most wanted by those who have
not succeeded. The absence of success creates a desire for it. The ... Show more content on

For want to be a commissary for infinity would mean that infinity has charged want with a special
duty. This duty is to create want for infinity. It is absence that creates want. The next stanza supports
this by saying that to posses something is past the instant of joy. This means that the instant of joy is
not the goal itself or even when the goal is achieved. The lines Immortality contented / Were
Anomaly. mean that one can never be content. There is always something to want. There is always
something to achieve. On the other hand, if there is always something to want, there is also
always something to lose. In general, this poem seems to be saying that there will always be
want, and that there will always be absence and loss. If there will always be absent and loss, then it
is possible that absence and loss are major parts of life.

Poem 870 demonstrates absence and loss as inevitable. The poem is obviously a reference to the
Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts. The lines Third, Expedition for / The Golden Fleece
demonstrate this. In this myth Pelias agrees to surrender the throne of Iolkos to Jason if he brings
him the Golden Fleece. It is a long dangerous journey, but Jason returns with the fleece. (Haskas) In
the poem however, Dickinson is portraying the journey as a continual loss. After the initial gain
there is loss after loss. The lines Fourth, no Discovery / Fifth, no Crew / Finally, no Golden Fleece
/ Jason sham too.
A Brief Biography of E.B. White
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.
This makes it hard to plan the day. (White). Elwyn was a great and always full of humor and that
came out especially in his writings. All growing up I read a lot of his books because they were
books that were in the family for a long time and every one of my siblings read them growing up.
They were books that we passed down because they were some of the best books for kids to read
when they were old enough to understand what they were about. E.B White always had a sense
of humor in his writings. It was something that could never be copied in the same way that he
would write. E.B White was born July 11, 1899 in Mount Vernon, New York. He lived with his
mother Jessie Hart and his father Samuel Tilly White. His father was a piano manufacturer but it
was never clear as to what his mother had for a job. It could have been that she never a job
considering the time period that White grew up in. He was one of six kids having two brothers
and three sisters. Although having six children would make it pretty close to having a full time
job, so I would find it pretty hard to find a job of caring for the family. His parents named him
Elwyn Brooks White, but he was not the biggest fan of it. He states that, I never liked that Elwyn.
My mother just hung it on me because she d run out of names, he told The New York Times in
1980 ( Elwyn Brooks White ). On White s twelth birthday his

Born: 1712, Geneva, Switzerland

(1762), The Social Contract (1762), Letters Written from the Mount (1764), Confessions (1770)

Major Ideas

Man is by nature good; society is the cause of corruption and vice.

In a state of nature, the individual is characterized by healthy self love; self love is accompanied by
a natural compassion.

In society, natural self love becomes corrupted into a venal pride, which seeks only the good
opinion of others and, in so doing, causes the individual to lose touch with his or her true nature; the
loss of one s true nature ends in a loss of freedom.

While society corrupts human nature, it also represents the possibility of its perfection in morality.

Human interaction requires the transformation of natural freedom into moral freedom; this
transformation is based on reason and provides the foundation for a theory of political right.

A just society replaces the individual s natural freedom of will with the general will; such a society
is based on a social contract by which each individual alienates all of his or her natural rights to
create a new corporate person, the sovereign, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At thirty, he went to Paris, a center of art, philosophy, and science. For Rousseau, the sharp contrast
between the happy, bucolic setting of his youth and the sophisticated, artificial Parisian society was
definitive; it defined him both as a man and as a thinker. For some time it had been common for
philosophers to begin inquiries about morality and politics by asking the question What is the nature
of man? Rousseau s upbringing, together with his sense of estrangement in Paris, gave him a unique
perspective on this question. In his major works, he uses his personal experience to develop a
universal understanding of the individual and
