Physical Ability Tests For Industrial And Organizational...
Physical ability tests will commonly use various tasks or exercises requiring physical ability in
order to test performance (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology [SIOP], 2016). An
assessment of physical ability may be necessary for some jobs, and the relation between physical
ability and job performance is of particular interest. For example, a police officer or firefighter that
has limited mobility may find it difficult to perform basic tasks required of the job. Firefighters have
to carry heavy equipment, and sometimes people, in situations that can be quite hazardous, such as a
burning building. Police often are required to actively pursue, defend, and/or apprehend fleeing
suspects (Cohen, Swerdlik, Sturman, 2013).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would also have the added benefit of preventing or minimizing risk of injury to employees
or others, save on medical costs, and workers compensation costs. Another major advantage of
physical ability tests is that they are not influenced by any attempt of the test taker to fake a
response or try to use impression management (SIOP, 2016). Slide 4 Limitations As with most
tests, along with the many advantages, there are also limitations to physical ability tests. These
are important to know since knowledge of them may help to mitigate their impact when testing
for physical ability. Physical ability tests are generally more apt to display different results based
on gender than most other types of tests (SIOP, 2016). This will be discussed in more detail a
little later in the presentations. A possible limitation with physical ability tests is that issues may
occur in employee selection if the test is used to diagnose medical conditions, rather than just
actual ability to perform a job related task (SIOP, 2016). This is true of most tests though, since
how a test is used is usually as important as choosing the right test. Some physical ability tests can
be relatively expensive, depending on the type, and may require certain kinds of equipment or
tools, as well as proper administration of the test (SIOP, 2016). These types of tests can also require

Death Through The Dark By William Stafford, And The Black...
Life is a very special thing given to everyone. Life is something that needs to be treasured,
regardless if it is a human or animal. Just with life, death is a special thing. Death is something
that is shrouded in mystery that humans explore. Since humans know that they are going to die,
they are interested in how others died. They explore their life and the possibility of how they
lived, and then their death. In the poem, Traveling through the Dark by William Stafford, and The
Black Snake by Mary Oliver, both share a common theme of life and death. In the poem,
Traveling Through the Dark, Stafford describes how he was moved by the death of a pregnant
fawn while driving his car on the mountain road at night. Whiling traveling on the road at night,
the narrator found a deer. He thought it would be better if the deer to be moved and stopped his
car to move it back. He found the deer recently killed and her body was almost cold. He pulled the
body over to the side and saw her large belly. He touched the belly and he thought the deer was
pregnant with its baby still alive and never to be born. The narrator could no nothing. The lights of
the car were on and the engine was making a continuous sound, as if it sounded pleased. He felt that
the cry in the wilderness was heard and after thinking he pushed the deer into the river. This poem
shows a contrast between machine and animal. In the first three stanzas, he describes his encounter
with the deer and its unborn baby. Then,
Essay On Tupac
Tupac Shakur was a sensitive, precociously talented yet troubled soul who came to embrace the
1990s gangsta rap aesthetic and paid the ultimate price he was gunned down in Las Vegas on
September 7, 1996 and died six days later. His murder has never been solved. He began his music
career as a rebel with a cause to articulate the travails and injustices endured by many African
Americans, often from a male point of view. His skill in doing so made him a spokesperson not just
for his own generation, but for subsequent ones who continue to face the same struggle for equality.
In death he became an icon symbolizing noble struggle, though in life his biggest battle was
sometimes with himself. As fate drove him towards the nihilism of gangsta... Show more content on

It was from Sekiya s father, another Panther called Mutulu Shakur, that the rapper took his
surname though Mutulu did not stick around either. A single mother of two children, Afeni
struggled for money and they moved homes often, sometimes staying in shelters. They moved to
Baltimore, and Tupac enrolled at the prestigious Baltimore School for the Arts, at which he felt
the freest I ever felt. But their neighborhood was riven by crime, so the family moved again, this
time to Marin City in California, which turned out to be a mean little ghetto according to Robert
Sam Anison s comprehensive posthumous feature on Tupac for Vanity Fair in 1997. It was in
Marin City that Afeni succumbed to crack addiction a drug her son, Tupac, would sell on the
same streets as his mother bought her supply. But Tupac s love for hip hop would steer him away
from a life of crime (for a while at least). At 17, in the spring of 1989, he met an older white
woman, Leila Steinberg, in a park, and they struck up a conversation about Winnie Mandela.
Steinberg would later recall a young man with fan like eyelashes, overflowing charisma, and the
most infectious laugh. By the time they met, Tupac was obsessively writing poetry ( The world
moves fast and it would rather pass u by / than 2 stop and c what makes you cry, is one verse from
around that time and would eventually be published in the 2000 book The Rose that Grew from
Concrete). He convinced Steinberg, who had no
What Led To Patton s Downfall
The famous but also infamous General of the 7th Army General George S. Patton would help
lead the Allies to a victory in Europe on the Western Front. The way General Patton would lead
his army would help him become a good soldier, strike fear into his enemies, and he had ended up
being harsh leader. Patton was a good soldier because he had wanted to always win the battle so
he had strived to be the best he could. Patton was able to strike fear into his enemies because he
and his army were one of the best that went through Europe during WW2. General Patton was also
a harsh leader because he he had slapped two different soldiers at two different times. These
slapping incidents had started to lead to the downfall one of the best Generals who... Show more

Patton had done some things that leaders should not have done and that is what had sent him on
his downfall at the end of the war. One thing Patton had done was she slapped two different
soldiers while in the army, both of which had occurred in 1944. ON August 3rd, 1944 during the
Sicily campaign Patton was visiting the field hospitals to hand out Purple Hearts. While doing so
he saw that one soldier had no physical injuries and ask them why they were there. The soldiers
response was stress and that it was too much for him. For this have being the soldier s response
Patton slapped him for having an excuse not to be fighting while his comrades are being shot
dead. This had caused an uproar among his army and eventually reached Eisenhower who had not
done anything yet. Then seven days later Patton was doing the same thing when he came across
another soldier in the hospital with the same excuse as the first. Patton ended up responding the
same way as he did with the first. This time when the news had reached Eisenhower he had to
punish one of his best commanders for his actions. Because of this Patton had been put on leave
from the service as his punishment. From this Patton was unable to serve in the D Day invasion
and even more traumatizing for him was that he was even going to be the general that was going to
lead the invasion also. Another thing that Patton had done while being in a commanding position
was that he would openly speak about his opinions of the Russians. Patton had predicted that after
the war Russia and America would go into a war against each other to see who was the better power.
This did not help with the unity of the Allies because Patton would just do whatever he had wanted.
The slapping incidents and Patton speaking his mind had help further Patton on his path of eventual

U.S. Drug Policy Versus Drug Reality Essay
If the United States is serious about winning the war on drugs, it will have to face some hard facts
about the failure of its drug policy to date. Since Reagan introduced the war on drugs in the early
1980s, the focus of anti drug legislation has been on incarceration and eradication, not on drug
education and treatment. Drug useis viewed as a crimethe same way that burglary and murder are
viewed as crimeswithout examining the social and economic causes behind drug use. This
categorization of drug use as criminal misrepresents the nature of addiction. Drug addicts do not
abuse drugs because they are deviant or even because they consciously desire to cause harm to
themselves or to those around them, they abuse drugs because they are... Show more content on

Since the war on drugs began, the number of incarcerations on charges of possession or trafficking
has shot up from 50,000 in 1980, to 400,000 in 1997. That means that fully 25% of prison inmates
are in jail on drug related charges. Despite Americas get tough policies, U.S. school children
between the ages of 12 and 15 are nearly twice as likely to have tried marijuana as their Dutch
counterparts (13.5% versus 7.2%), though cannabis possession is legal in the Netherlands.
Such statistics do not point to the futility of all forms of government action to combat drug use, but
they do firmly suggest that a revision of American policies is in order. The currently ineffectual drug
policies stem from a few basic misunderstandings about the nature of Americas drug problem. Firstly,
politicians are overly fixated on the inevitably futile policy of eradication. Regardless of the
number of DEA officers stationed along our southern border, the US will never be able to quell the
importation of illicit drugs into this country. The economic incentives to run drugs across the border
are just too high. The number of people living below the poverty line in Latin America, particularly
the rural poor, is too high for most Americans to fathom. For many, the economic benefits of drug
trafficking will always exceed the
My Escape From Home
It is my first day at Westvalley high, and boy was my heart racing. I silently go over my mother s
words in my head. New school, new start, new friends. As much as I know this is not true, I try and
keep my hopes high. Trying my best to deny the constant feeling of being alone. But the truth is I
am not alone... I am standing in a crowded hallway listening to the sudden groans of students as they
realise they are no longer in the paradise they call home. Unfortunately for me the feelingof
loneliness just won t let go, somehow this school seems even lonelier than the dump I call home.
My mother is never home and maybe that is the reason her words feel so dear to my heart. Almost
every day she slaves away at work barely scraping up enough money to afford the rent only to be
greeted by my ill tempered father. My father is almost never happy and when he gets into one of his
moods it is hard to escape his fury. I guess you could think of school as an escape from home yet
now I feel more like a stranger than ever before.
Bring! Bring! Oh no! Here comes the first day of torture... I slowly stumble into the classroom
making sure my desk is the closest to the back. I couldn t bear the thought of sitting in the front
again, not after my last class. I sit silently as the roll is called only opening my mouth to murmur
the word present before returning back to my quiet self. I suppose when it all comes down to it
most kids seem alright at the least, but there is one girl that seems to
Juvenile Justice In Juveniles
The act of justice is to provide both fairness and equality for both the victim and offender. With the
increase of juvenile offenders, the YOA was enhanced therefore forming the YCJA, which would
ultimately focus on ending the cycle of recidivism among young offenders, and as a result of the
YCJA being introduced, 42% of overall crimeby youths had been declined from the year 2000 to
2014. In doing this the YCJA s main goals were and still are to recuperate the youthful offenders by
focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration, and looking at the underlying cause of the crime.
Although not acknowledging the suffering and constant fear that the victimand community go
through, as the result of the crime.
To achieve the goal of stopping crimes among youths, they have set forth to make reintegrating and
rehabilitating a big part of keeping juveniles out of prison for the remainder of their life. Meaning,
they try to instill positive behaviour and choices upon juvenile offenders by providing ways to try
and migrate them back into the community while maintaining good behaviour. This, of course, does
not happen without the assistance of YCJA counsellors and justice advocacy groups, as these
groups make it their main interest to provide constant equality and stability towards these offenders.
As the young offenders try to step in the right direction with the help of the YCJA, they are often
given a created guideline or a set of rules that try and lead the offender towards
The Pros And Cons Of Frozen Embryo
Frozen embryo are relatively widespread and common technology nowadays, which performed not
only in western countries, but also in Asian including China. It is undeniable that frozen embryo
technology benefits out society, broaden the possibility of reproduction. However, there are
substantial numbers of frozen embryos in storage that will not be used by those who produced them
for their own fertility (Frith Blyth, 2013), raising an ethical concern on the frozen embryo
disposition. For the reason that IVF technology is not advanced in China when comparing to other
countries, the management of frozen embryo disposal is insufficiently planned. Therefore, by
discussing the merits and ethical concerns of frozen embryo technology, some suggestions on frozen
embryo disposal are provided for China s improvement.
Scientific methods of embryo cryopreservation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The development of advanced science and technology to preserve the embryos has made the
cryopreservation of surplus embryos an inevitable part in the procedure of IVF. According to
Fertility Weekly (2014), the length of storage had no noticeable influence on embryos survival rates,
implantation rates, pregnancy rates and live birth rates for embryos being cryopreserved, therefore,
the frozen embryos can be preserved for a long time. As the excessive preservation is serious in
China, the preservation of frozen embryos would be further discussed in China s case.
Family size is one of the major reasons for owners to preserve the embryos. Owing to the desire
on raising more children, biological parents would decide to preserve their embryos in order to
reduce the costs to conduct the IVF procedure again. Moreover, in the case of China, the One child
policy has restricted the numbers of children in a family. Thus, parents tend to preserve the frozen
embryos for the next child if once the restriction of One child policy is being
