Abstract
Nausea is a common issue for patients who present in the prehospital environment. Currently in New
Zealand paramedics are only able to Ondansetron, which is the only antiemetic that medical directors
of both of New Zealand ambulance services have approved. Questions remain about the suitability of
Ondansetron in the prehospital field due to the range of causes of nausea and vomiting. Antiemetic
use international is varied however most tend to have at least two or more antiemetics, with
Ondansetron being the common antiemetic used. For this paper the author aims to look at the
different types of antiemetics available and see what type or types of antiemetic s are the best suited
for the prehospital environment ?, and make a recommendation about what antiemetics should be
introduced into paramedic practise in New Zealand.

People often feel that it is impossible to fulfill their dreams. As shown in the Great Depression of
the 1930s, the pressure of achieving goals when faced with economic conflict makes dreams even
harder to reach. If dreams aren t fulfilled one often falls under a melancholy state; or state of

Many of the resources that Rabkin used in the book were also familiar to me from reading them
in this course. There were also many sources that he used that I was unfamiliar with, but most of
the time Rabkin was still able to get his point across by using text straight from the plays and
summarizing plots. This book was very informative in figuring out some of Shakespeare s plays,
