SEC 574 Database Security
Keller Graduate School of Management
Submitted: 22 August 2012

Abstract: SIDPERS Security Plan developed for the Virgin Islands National Guard is procedural
protection of this highly sensitive database holding the personnel records of over 960 active service
members and over 10,000 retirees skeleton military personnel records. It is with great err on caution
that we recommend and enforce the highest level of tiered defense in depth security measure to
maintain the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of this data; because we know its
compromise and/or loss will reap ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other security elements are in reference to data recovery, database administration, handling a breach
in security and administrative security policies such as access procedure, employee transfer and
excessive user access. As I assume the role of the chief security officer, database designer, database
administrator, and chief applications designer this project is very important to the armed services
and the Virgin Islands National Guard as we strive to provide global security. II. Architecture and
Operating System Considerations
SIDPERS Architecture
The database runs on the Oracle 11g platform and the CIO has task me to prepare a responsive
database security plan. If personnel data is compromise identity theft can ensue and millions of
dollars will be lost in repairing the wronged individual and rebuilding soldiers confidence in
Department of Defense commitment to protecting their private information. It is not just the soldier
information stored here but every dependent information and legal responsibility of single soldiers.
The Standard Installation Division Personnel System Version 3 (SIDPERS 3) is a Standard Army

ever before. The system consists of a relational data base, application software written in Ada, and a
hardware suite. The hardware architecture is a host based design with a
It s An App For That Can Make Shopping More Convenient Or...
There s an app for that . I find myself pointing out this somewhat obvious fact on a regular basis.
What is there not an app for? Honestly, every aspect of a person s average day can be assisted in
some way by an app. App for the alarm in the morning, for your Starbucks coffee, an app for the
morning news, apps to track your weight and calorie intake, a pedometer app to count your steps,
GPS to get you to an appointment, banking apps, calendar, grocery list, coupons, Safeway even
has an app. Apps that make shopping more convenient or ordering food. There are fertility
tracking apps, memory training apps, apps for school and reading, apps to look for a job, home,
or new car. Literally you name it, there s an app for it. Not to mention the countless games and
apps geared towards children. According to Statista.com as of July 2015 Android users were able to
choose between 1.6 million apps. Apple s App Storeremained the second largest app store with 1.5
million available apps. In addition there are 400,000 Amazon apps, 340,000 apps available through
the Windows phone store and 130,000 available on Blackberry world.(Statista.com) Totaling over
3.9 million apps available at the touch of a finger tip.
To many this may seem like life just getting more and more convenient. However, has it been
considered how much these apps enable and inevitably handicap our ability to function without
them? Essentially with all of the apps being made available today not only are we chained to

This was me when I was growing up in my little world. This was my feeling of pain, sorrow, and
joy during my childhood. I felt all these emotions and more growing up in the busy Hong Kong

America, even where it was because of its distance. I could not remember the faces of my family

Childhood was a word that I would never forget. My childhood was full of embarrassment. When I
was in elementary school in Hong Kong, there was a 10 minute break everyday. The short breaks
were precious moments for all of the kids there except me. When the bell rang, every child rushed to
the cafeteria. Some bought snacks while some played games. And there were many waiting to make
phone calls.

Mary asked, Dad, can you bring me my math homework? I left it on the desk in the morning.

Sure! Her daddy replied without hesitation.

Peter said, Father, I...I forgot to bring my pencil case, can you...

Peter s father laughed, Ok! Ok! Silly boy!

John cried, Mommy, I am very hungry, but I don t have a cent.

John s mother worried so much about her dear son, Are you okay, my sweetheart? Wait for me, I ll

The Shock Of Teapots And The Seam Of The Snail
I always like to think through the author s essays style of what the author is like. Like Cynthia
Ozick, by reading the shock of teapots and The Seam of the snail I imagine that Cynthia probably
is a very romantic and loved life woman. Even though these two essays are both written by her; both
essays have similarities in using own experiences, beautiful vocabulary and self reflection. However,
they differ from developing sentences structure. The Shock of Teapots maintains the idea that
travelers can discover more beautiful things than local residents. She spends a lot of sentences to
describe beautiful scenery. By means of traveling, people can find out something interesting in a
different view from local residents. The Seam of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Roman And Classical Art Of Greek And Roman Art
Greek and Roman art can be classified as classical art. Romans learned sculpture and painting
largely from the Greeks and helped to transmit Greek art to later ages (Guisepi). Much of Greek
and Roman art was created to reflect the lives and beliefs of the people of the time. Culture,
politics, and religion, primarily portraying gods, were the main focuses of their art. The figure was a
very important component in Greek and Roman art. Both Greeksand Romans developed very a
beautiful and naturally inspired art form. They were able to achieve a sense of life in their
sculptures and paintings. These artists were able to create a sense of motion or action in their work
that was unlike anything seen prior.
Greek and Roman sculptures were made to show honor to their gods and honor those who have
died. The Classical and Hellenistic periods both show a successful manipulation of materials to
create motion. Stone and bronze were both used by Greeks and Romans to create their sculptures.
Even with these very heavy materials, artists were able to achieve a lightness to their pieces and
allude the viewer to motion. Details are a major way that artists were able to communicate the
motion that they wanted. Body positioning also played a major role. A great example of this is the
sculpture of the Discobolus of Myron. This sculpture was created by a man from Athens but gained
popularity through the copies created by the Romans (Tulika). This sculpture depicts a man ready to
throw a
I Agree with the Principal s Decision of Making...
Almost every student, at one point, has participated or will participate in an extracurricular activity,
whether it be athletic, academic, artistic, or altruistic. Through these activities, students learn
valuable life skills and build friendships that last a lifetime. However, a large amount of students do
not receive these numerous benefits as they do not participate in extracurricular activities. For this
reason, the principal has decided to mandate at least one extracurricular activityfor all students. I
strongly agree with this decision because extracurricular activities increase academic performance,
keep students out of trouble and improve social and mental health. First and foremost, extracurricular
activities increase academic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, students are less likely to use drugs and controlled substances, because they realize that
they won t be able to participate in extracurriculars that they enjoy if they were to use drugs.
Especially in athletic competitions, students who use drugs are immediately disqualified, and since
most student athletes want to compete, they will refrain from engaging in such detrimental acts. In
addition, students who participate in extracurricular activities are less likely to join gangs and take
part in gang related actions, because they have made true friends in their after school activities that
actually care about the student s well being. Lastly, extracurricular activities improve the social and
mental health of students. Through these after school endeavors, students are able to make friends
with people who share interests and find the same hobbies interesting, and often, these friendships
are the most long lasting. These friendships are not only beneficial to a students social well being,
but also to their mental health. In addition, kids not in safe environments at home are provided by a
safe environment at school for after school activities. For example, if

Prohibition in the United States, also known as The Noble Experiment, was the period from 1920 to
1933, during which the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcohol for consumption were
banned nationally[1] as mandated in the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Under substantial pressure from the temperance movement, the United States Senate proposed the
Eighteenth Amendment on December 18, 1917. Having been approved by 36 states, the 18th
Amendment was ratified on January 16, 1919 and effected on January 16, 1920. Some state

Prohibition was an important force in state and local politics from the 1840s through the 1930s. The
political forces involved were ethnoreligious in character, as demonstrated by numerous historical
studies.[9] Prohibition was demanded by the dries primarily pietistic Protestant denominations,
especially the Methodists, Northern Baptists, Southern Baptists, Presbyterians, Disciples of Christ,
Congregationalists, Quakers and Scandinavian Lutherans. They identified saloons as politically
corrupt and drinking as a personal sin. They were opposed by the wets primarily liturgical Protestants
(Episcopalians, German Lutherans) and Roman Catholics, who denounced the idea that the
government should define morality.[10] Even in the wet stronghold of New York City there was an
active prohibition movement, led by Norwegian church groups and African American labor activists
who believed that Prohibition would benefit workers, especially African Americans. Tea merchants
and soda fountain manufacturers generally supported Prohibition, thinking a ban on alcohol would
increase sales of their products.[11]

The Primary Factor Of Total Quality In Education
Total quality education. The primary factor of total quality in education is school improvement.
School improvement is a continuous process, which involve strategies that purpose to establish,
develop, and focus on the talents and skills of teachers and students based on the visions of the
educational and personal goals. School improvement involves collaborative leadership, personalizing
the school environment, and assessments to improve leader effectiveness and school performance.
In a system of total quality, there must an atmosphere of supportive and harmonious relationships
between school leaders and staff, and open communication between the school and all its social
agents (Saiti, 2012). In order to have total quality education, proficient leadership and commitment to
effective teaching and learning must exist. Principals and other school leaders must ensure that they
have the necessary skills, tools, and mindsets to stimulate school improvement. Integrating
Principles. School leaders must develop comprehensive systems in an effort to adjust and
accommodate all teachers and students educational requirements; by utilizing experiences and social
exchanges in a context in which, learners have to make decisions and exchange perspectives through
productive interaction and dialogue. In order to enhance learning for project leadership in education
and to apply it effectively in leading projects, interactive learning is used to implicate how students

How Does Morgan Spurlock Use Satire In Supersize Me
Good morning everybody. Welcome to Generation Now. I am Briana and today I will be talking
to you about Super Size Me. Super Size Me is a 2004 documentary of social commentary which
follows Morgan Spurlock, an American independent filmmaker who ate only McDonald s food for
30 days. The film documents this lifestyle s dramatic effect on Spurlock s physical and mental
well being, while exploring the fast food industry s corporate influence and contribution to the
American obesity epidemic. Super Size Me aims to inform its audience about America s obesity
crisis and to convince them that fast food chains should be liable for this epidemic issue. Why are
Americans so overweight? Two words: fast food. So what would happen if you ate nothing but fast
food for an entire month? Concerned about the increasing rate of obesity in America, filmmaker...

An example of this is the repeated use of sarcasm and satire. Sarcasm is used frequently in the
documentary as a way of dismissing opposing views and reinforcing the key issues. One example
of sarcasm in Super Size Me is America has now become the fattest nation in the world.
Congratulations Spurlock uses satire as a way of poking fun and ridiculing the fast food industry,
helping to convince the audience of his claims. An example of satire in Super Size Me is the quote:
McDonalds is everywhere. Walmarts, airports, department stores, amusement parks, even hospitals.
Thats right, hospitals. At least you re close when the coronary kicks in. In this quote Spurlock is
reinforcing the idea that fast food is toxic, while making fun McDonalds and their decisions. Another
example of humour as a persuasive technique in Super Size Me is the use funny, informative
cartoons. The following cartoon shows the process in which McDonalds chicken nuggets are made.

The Media Of The Super Bowl
When most people think of Super Bowl commercials, they think of funny skits about Budweiser,
Cool Ranch Doritos, or big Chevy trucks; all up beat, innocent, and funny commercials, right?
Well not all ads aired during the Super Bowl have been known to be as up beat and sensible. In
2011, the Super Bowl aired a commercial made by an online coupon site many of you are
probably familiar with called Groupon. This controversial ad is titled Save the Money Tibet and
was meant for their buyers to do just that, save money. Although Groupon is all about saving
people money, that s not the only message the ad was supposed to convey to its viewers. Although
controversial, this ad has a bigger story behind it that Groupon later shared after getting a large
amount of hate due to the lack of misunderstanding from their viewers. To sum up the commercial,
it starts off with different clips of people in Tibet with a sort of chilling music playing in the
background. A male voice then comes in and says, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This is timothy Hutton. The people of Tibet are in trouble, their very culture in jeopardy . The
whole dynamic of the commercial then changes when Timothy Hutton says, but they still whip up
an amazing fish curry as a Tibet male proceeds to serve him a fish curry dish in a Chicago
restaurant all thanks to his purchase of an online coupon from Groupon. While the purpose of this
three million dollar ad seemed to be to promote saving money by

impacted the country as a whole immensely. Undergoing changes within Russia s government; do to,
shift in rule and leadership powers, taking on wars Russia is incapable of winning, and going
through the era of change during the Russian Revolution, all showed Russia s strong and weak
points as an empire. The social causes and effects of the Russian Revolution all go back to the
assassination of Alexander II.

demonstrators. 1917 began the leadership of the Bolsheviks autocracy lead by Vladimir Lenin. Lenin
had many ideas and reforms in store for the turn around of Russia during the Russian Revolution.
Although Russia was still in fact in World War I; Lenin was ready to industrialize and make the
country strong again. Going against all traditional ideals of the Czarist autocracy Lenin was able to
get Russia to industrialize in major cities such as St. Petersburg and Moscow. The population and
economy began to increase and look to be strong again; until overcrowding, unhealthy living
conditions, and poverty was starting to show again, due to the underlying changes made by Lenin.
The Bolsheviks had established a liberal program in which rights for freedom of speech, equality
before laws, and rights of unions to organize and strike became controlled and restricted. This
making Russia politically against violence and social revolution; which is not what the people of
Russia wanted. These underlying changes continued on, including the government controlling

This paper will focus on three main styles of leadership including autocratic, democratic and

aspects of leadership that leaders should portray, no matter what style they use. These including
