Answer all questions in this paper

1. Describe the incident in which Jesus had the last supper with his disciples.(8mks)

 Jesus sat at the table with his disciples.

 He told them he desired to have a meal with them before he suffered.

 He told them that,from them he wouldn't take any drink untill the kingdom of God came.

 He took the cup gave thanks and asked the disciples to share amongst themselves

 He took a bread ,gave thanks broke it and gave the disciples

 He explained that the bread was his body and the wine his blood that wouldseal a new
covenant.

 He commanded them to do it in remembrance of Him(Jesus)

 He informed them that one of them would betray him

b) Give six reasons why Jesus used bread and wine during last supper.(6mks)

 Bread and wine were common elements of a meal during that time, making them easily accessible
for the ritual.

 The use of bread and wine symbolized Jesus's body and blood, representing the sacrifice he was
about to make.

 The act of sharing bread and wine created a communal experience among his disciples,
emphasizing unity.

 The tradition of sharing bread and wine had historical and religious significance, linking back to
Jewish Passover rituals.

 Jesus used familiar elements to convey profound spiritual truths to his disciples.

c) Outline the importance of celebrating the holy communion in the church today.(6mks)

 It reminds them death of Jesus as a sacrifice for forgiveness of sin


 Christians thank God for God's love/redemption plan

 It helps christian reaffirm and renew their faith in God

 It gives christians an opportunity to repent and ask God for forgiveness of sin

 It unites the believers as they fellowship and share with one another.

 The partakers experience the presence of Christ through sharing of the bread and wine which
represents his body and his blood.

2. a)Outline the events that took place on Mt olives before the arrest of Jesus.(8mks)

 After celebrating the last supper,Jesus and his disciples went to mount olives pray.

 When he came to the place he told his disciples to pray lest they enter into temptation

 He went on from them about a stone throw

 He knelt down and prayed.

 He prayed and asked God to remover the cup of suffering from him.

 He also prayed for the will of the father to be done not his(Jesus) will.

 When he rose from the prayer he came to his disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow

 He told them to rise and pray that they may not fall into temptation.

b)Outline the lessons that christians learn from the incident when Jesus went to pray with his
disciples on Mt olives.(6mks)

 Christians learn that they should be prayerful.

 Christians learn that they should put God first.

 Prayer helps one to overcome temptations

 They should depend on God for strength

 They should be ready to suffer for God's sake

 They should encourage others in their weaknesses


 They should be alert for the enemy strikes when least expect it.

 To ask God for forgiveness

 To thank God

 To seek for spiritual guidance.

 To present our requests/needs to God/make our requests known to God.

 To avoid falling in temptation/To overcome devil's temptations

3.a)Describe the event that took place during the day of pentecost. Acts 2:1-41(8mks)

 On the day of pentecost all the disciples were in Jerusalem met in one place.

 Suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind and filled the house.

 And there appeared to them tongues of fire which rested upon each one of them

 The apostles were all filled with the holy spirit

 They started talking in tongues

 The multitude in Jerusalem was amazed and wondered what was happening to the apostles

 The multitude mocked them for being drunk

 Peter defended the disciples and explained that they were not drunk.

 Peter preached to the multitude about ministry of Jesus

 The people asked peter what they could do about the message

 Peter told them to repent and be baptized

 Three thousand people repented and we're baptized.

 The gift of wisdom

 The gift of speaking in tongues

 The gift of knowledge

 The gift of faith

 The gift of healing

c)Outline the role of the holy spirit in the church today.(5mks)

 He reminds/ convinces people on righteousness

 He guides christians

 He comforts the christians

 He is an advocate, counselor,helper and comforter to christians

 He interprets the deeper meanings of the message of Jesus Christ

 He reveals what is wrong and right to christians

 He gives christians courage to face prosecution on account of following Jesus

 Paul describes the believers as the body of Christ.

 Christ is the head of the church

 The believers form part of the body.

 The body has different organs,the same way the church has different members.

 They all need to work together for the wellbeing of the church.

 Every part of the body is needed to make it whole/all parts are interdependent/one cannot be
without the other.
 The different church members are given different spiritual gifts by the holy spirit to carryout
God's work.

 There should be no division in the church since all the believers are members of the body of
Christ.

 Believers are united through baptism.

 Misinterpretation of the scripture
