DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH – GRADE 3

Quarter 1 – Week 2 Day 3( June 25,2025)


Theme: Places in the Community
Time: 60 minutes
Learning Area: English

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a. Read consonant clusters (CCVC words: bl, br, ch, cr, dr, fl, fr, gl, gr)
fluently and correctly.
b. Read words based on identified CCVC word patterns.
c. Write CCVC words accurately.
d. Use vocabulary related to places in the community.
e. Recognize and read Grade 3 level sight words accurately.
f. Identify the subject (who/what) and action (what are they doing) in simple
interrogative sentences.
g. Arrange words in a logical sequence to form meaningful interrogative
sentences.
h. Use capitalization and punctuation marks (question marks) accurately.
i. Share personal experiences related to regional themes (places in the
community).

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Reading and Writing CCVC Words; Interrogative Sentences; Places in
the Community
Materials: Flashcards, pictures of community places, word cards, sentence
strips, writing sheets, PowerPoint (if available)
Reference: MELC, English CG for Grade 3, Textbooks, Worksheets

III. PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Greetings and Prayer
2. Review of Previous Lesson: Sight words and short vowel sounds
3. Motivation/Drill:
"What place in the community do you often visit?"
Show pictures: market, school, hospital, park, church
Use word-picture matching for engagement.

B. PRESENTATION
1. Vocabulary Development (CCVC Words & Places)
 Introduce consonant blends using flashcards:
o bl – black, block
o cr – crab, crib
o dr – drum, drop
o gr – grass, grab
 Learners read the CCVC words aloud.
 Match CCVC words with appropriate images.
2. Word Pattern Recognition
 Identify word patterns in bl, br, ch, dr blends.
 Activity: Word Sorting (group words by blends)
3. Reading Practice
 Learners read short sentences using CCVC words and sight words (e.g.,
"The drum is big.")
 Group reading and partner reading

Paksa: Mga Salitang Madalas Gamitin (High Frequency Words) at Salitang Naglalarawan
Aralin: Paglalarawan sa Sarili at sa Bansa

I. LAYUNIN:

Sa pagtatapos ng aralin, ang mga mag-aaral ay inaasahang:

1. Nagagamit ang mga salitang madalas gamitin (high frequency words) tungkol sa sarili
at bansa;
2. Natutukoy ang kahulugan ng mga salitang naglalarawan sa ngalan ng tao, bagay,
hayop, lugar, at pangyayari;
3. Nababasa nang wasto ang mga natutuhang salita;
4. Naisusulat nang maayos at wasto ang mga natutuhang salita; at
5. Nakabubuo ng maikling talatang naglalarawan ng karanasan tungkol sa sarili at
bansa.

II. NILALAMAN

Paksa: Paggamit ng mga high frequency words at salitang naglalarawan


Mga Kagamitan:

 Manila paper
 Larawan ng Pilipinas, pamilyar na mga lugar at tao
 Flashcards ng high frequency words (ako, kami, ikaw, maganda, masaya, Pilipinas,
bayani, bahay, paaralan, pamilya, atbp.)

III. PAMAMARAAN

A. Panimula:

1. Pagbati at Panalangin
2. Balik-aral:
o Tanungin: “Ano ang ibig sabihin ng salitang ‘karanasan’?”
o Pagbasa ng simpleng pangungusap tungkol sa sarili:
 “Ako ay masayahing bata.”
 “Mahal ko ang aking pamilya.”
 “Ang Pilipinas ay isang magandang bansa.”

B. Paglalahad ng Aralin:

1. Ipakita ang mga larawan ng sarili, pamilya, at bansa.


2. Ipakilala ang mga high frequency words na may kaugnayan sa mga ito.
o Halimbawa: ako, ikaw, tayo, Pilipinas, bayani, bahay, pamilya, paaralan
3. Ipaliwanag ang kahulugan ng mga salitang nagbibigay-larawan (maganda, masaya,
tahimik, makabayan).
4. Pagbasa ng mga simpleng pangungusap gamit ang mga ito.

C. Pagtalakay/Pagtutulungan:

1. Magkatambal: Ipagmatch ang larawan sa tamang salitang naglalarawan.


2. Pag-usapan: “Paano mo ilalarawan ang iyong sarili?” “Paano mo ilalarawan ang
Pilipinas?”
3. Magbigay ng halimbawa ng maikling talata na naglalarawan sa sarili at sa bansa.
D. Paglilinang ng Kasanayan:
Gawain 1: Pagbasa ng mga pangungusap gamit ang flashcards
Gawain 2: Pagsulat ng 3-5 pangungusap tungkol sa sarili at sa bansang Pilipinas gamit ang high
frequency words
Gawain 3: Pagbasa nang wasto ng sariling isinulat na pangungusap
Gawain 4: Pagsagot sa worksheet na may:

 Multiple choice (piliin ang tamang salitang naglalarawan)


 Pagsulat ng kulang na salita sa pangungusap

E. Paglalahat:

 Ano ang mga natutuhan natin ngayon tungkol sa paggamit ng mga salita tungkol sa sarili
at sa bansa?
 Ano ang ibig sabihin ng salitang naglalarawan?

F. Paglalapat:

 Magpabasa ng ilang mag-aaral ng kanilang ginawang talata.


 Ipaipinta o iguhit ang sarili kasama ang mga bagay o simbolo ng bansa (bandila, tarsier,
bundok, simbahan, atbp.)

IV. PAGTATAYA

Panuto: Sagutin sa sagutang papel.

1. Pumili ng tamang salitang naglalarawan:


o Ang aking nanay ay (masipag, malamig, mataas).
2. Isulat ang nawawalang salita:
o Ako ay isang ______ na bata.
o Ang Pilipinas ay isang ______ bansa.
3. Sumulat ng maikling talatang (3-5 pangungusap) tungkol sa iyong sarili at sa bansang
Pilipinas.

V. TAKDANG ARALIN

1. Gumuhit ng larawan ng sarili at ng Pilipinas.


2. Sa likod ng guhit, isulat ang 3 pangungusap na naglalarawan sa bawat isa gamit ang mga
salitang natutuhan.
