We like playing volleyball, so we join a volleyball team.
The function of “so” in the sentence.
In your sentence:
I like dancing, so I decide to join the club.
The word “so” is a coordinating conjunction used to show a result or consequence.
“I like dancing” → cause / reason
“I decided to join the club” → effect / result
“so” connects the two ideas and shows that the second one happens because of the first.
🟰 It means: “therefore” / “as a result”

Advanced knowledge: Past continuous

Quá khứ tiếp diễn (Past continuous) thường được sử dụng để diễn tả, nhấn
mạnh quá trình của sự việc hoặc hành động.
Structure:
Khẳng định: S + was/were + V-ing
Example:

At 9 am yesterday, I was calling my mom.

In 2020, we were learning at Rose Primary School.

Phủ định: S + wasn’t/ weren’t + V-ing

Example:

They weren’t playing football when they were young.

I was not playing video game at 9 P.M. last week

Nghi vấn: Was/ Were + S + V-ing?

- No, S + wasn’t/ weren’t.
Example:

Was she going to the market at 6 pm yesterday?
