2. Identify the characteristics and common uses of simple colloids;
3. Compose simple, informative sentences or a short paragraph about colloids using appropriate vocabulary and
sentence structure.

Ask:
What is a mixture?
Have you heard of the word “colloid”?
Show pictures: Milk, fog, gelatin. Ask: What do these have in common?
📌 Connect: “These are examples of colloids. Today, we’ll learn how to describe them in English.”
B. Motivation / Engagement Activity
“Mystery Mixture” Guessing Game:
Show a photo of a white liquid (milk) and ask:
o Is this a solution, or something else? Why?
Let students observe and describe in simple words.
C. Presentation / Discussion
1. Define Colloid
“A colloid is a type of mixture where tiny particles are spread out (dispersed) but do not settle at the bottom.”
2. Characteristics of Colloids
Cloudy appearance
