Dear customer, thank you for buying this PTM product.
We advise you to read this manual carefully in order to use the product at best.
SAFETY AND MAINTAINANCE INFORMATION FOR PTM SCALES
Never open the protection box of the scale.
Should the scale be damaged, or should liquids have soave in, have the scale checked by a service
point.
Never pull the cables in order to disconnect the scale, but unscrew the connectors in the right way.
Do not lay the device cables (e.g. load cell cables, data transmission cables, cables to control relay
boards, etc.) near supply cables of other electric or electronic devices.
Supply the device with tensions consistent with the technical features of the product.
Have installation and maintenance work carried out by qualified staff.
Do not lay the cables which are connected to the scale near moving mechanical parts.
It is possible to clean the scale outside by using a soft and damp cloth, avoiding solvent or abrasive
substances.
Do not expose the scale to temperatures higher than the limits indicated in the technical features.
In order to reach a longer duration, do not expose the scale directly to atmospheric events, such as
rain, snow, frost, etc.
Never unscrew the grounding clamp which can be found on the protection box of the scale.
Do not use sharp or cutting tools to press the keys.
In case of installation, maintenance and reparation of the scale or the load cells, carry out a weight
check / calibration before making the weighing system operating.
Should the scale be equipped with data saving through USB Pen Drive or Memory Card, insert the
saving device in the correct way.
Before carrying out installation, maintenance and reparation works on the scale or the load cells,
disconnect all the machines which could be connected to the weighing system.
Should the scale be equipped with relay boards, never connect the board directly yo electric
engines, devices with a higher tension than 110V, etc.
During the charge of the machine battery, disconnect the power supply cable from the scale.
Before carrying out weldings on the machine, disconnect all the cables from the scale.
In case of weldings on the machine, place the grounding clip near the welding point, in order to
prevent electric current from passing through the load cells.
All responsibility for installation, maintenance and reparation works falls on the person who carried
them out.
ATTENTION!
Do not use high-pressure devices to clean the weighing scale and the load cells.
PTM S.r.l. reserves the right to make changes at any time without previous information, in order to
improve the quality of the product.

SYSTEM SWITCHING ON AND OFF
Press : after a system presentation you will find yourself in function “Total weight”, and it
permits to see the real weight from the load cells. Two screens compose this menu. This is the
first screen:

SYSTEM ZERO SETTING (TARE)
Keep the key pressed for a while to set the system to zero.
“PARTIAL WEIGHT” FUNCTION
Press the key to enter in the function “Partial weight” from the menu “Total weight”.
The display shows the value 0 and from now onwards every weight variation – either positive
or negative – is displayed. You can set the display to zero again by pressing the key .
Press the key to enter in function “Total weight” again.

“UNLOAD” FUNCTION
Press key in order to start an unload : the weighing system records as initial weight the
visualized weight. During unload the weight will decrease . At unloads end the weighing
system records as final weight the visualized weight. For difference it is calculated the quantity
memorized with the date and the unloading time. The weighing system memorizes the last 100
effected unloads. The user can block by hand the unloading operation by pressing . In
this case the recorded weight as the final weight will be the visualized weight when unload is
blocked. During the unload you can use only key “stop” :
At unloads end the unloaded quantity will be printed in an automatic way. On the display will
appear the message “print in progress.…”.
“TIME” MENU
In order to enter in the “Time” menu press from the “Total weight”
menu.
It allows to select the right date and time. You have to press in order to move to
a selection from another. To change the selected option press ▲ and ▼. If you press ,
you return to the “Total weight” menu.

“SETTINGS” MENU
In order to enter in the “setting” function press key from “Total weight”.
It allows to set the conversion ratio (Kg/l or l/Kg), the conversion ratio between kg and lt and
the unit of measurement. To select the option to be changed, use the keys .
The parameter “Conversion Ratio” allows to select the unit of measurement of the conversion
parameter. The parameter “Conversion ratio” allows to select the unit od measurement of the
parameter of conversion volume. In case of “Kg/l” you need to specify the parameter “milk
weight”, that is the weight expressed in kg for one litre of milk. If you select “l/Kg” you need
to specify how many litres of milk correspond to the weight of one kg(milk volume).
If the parameter “Conversion Ratio” is set on kg/l, to enter the menu press the key , if
the parameter is set on l/Kg press the key .
The parameter “Unit of measurement” is needed to set which unity of measurement between
kg and l you want to use.
To change the selected option, use the keys ▲ and ▼. If you are changing the conversion
ratio, press to pass from one value to another. Press to return to the
“Total Weight” menu.
“ DATA VISUALIZING” MENU
In order to enter in “Data visualizing” press from the menu “Total weight” menu.
This function visualizes unloads operations, which you have executed. Data visualized are:
unloads date and time, the unloaded quantity. The weighing indicator memorizes the last 100
unloads operations . To pass from a record to another use . By pressing key
you can print a visualized record. If you want to print a records interval, you can reach
“interval print” with . If you press it returns in “Total weight” menu.

“INTERVAL PRINT” MENU
In order to reach “Interval print” menu, you have to press from the menu “Data
visualizing”.
Use the keys to select the extreme of interval print to change. In order to
change the selected extreme, you have to use ▲ and ▼. To print the selected interval press
. If you press you return in “data visualizing”.
CONTRAST REGULATION
You can regulate the display contrast, as you like. Use button to increase the contrast,
and use button to decrease it. During this operation you can see a bar indicating the
contrast entity .
THE VOLTAGE IS TOO LOW
When the input voltage is not enough to allow the perfect system working, the display shows
this symbol . In this case check the supply system. When the system is working
in its normal condition, it is possible to visualize the actual input voltage by keeping the arrow-

DISPOSAL REGULATIONS
Disposal of electric and electronic products at the end of work cycle
Under Article 13 of Legislative Decree 25 July 2005, n.151 “Implentation of Directives 202/95/CE,
2002/96/CE and 2003/108/CE, regarding the reduction in the use of dangerous substances in electric
and electronic devices, and waste disposal".
The crossed garbage bin symbol, which is present on the device or on its packaging or on the
instruction manual, means that the product must be collected separately from other waste at the end of its useful life, as
sanctioned according to Legislative Decree 151/2005.
It is user's responsibility to dispose of this equipment in the points designated for the collection of used electric and
electronic devices. In order to learn the location of the collection points of such special waste, please contact City Hall,
public cleansing serving your own area, or the company where the device has been bought.

WARRANTY
PTM production represents the expression of the most advanced technology in the field of
dosing and weighing systems. Employed materials are of the highest qualitative level present
in the market. Each device, before leaving our laboratories, is submitted to foreseen checks
and control tests. Things being so we are able to guarantee the systems to be free from
defects in material and factory workmanship for a period of 24 months from purchase date.
However, during warranty period, PTM engages itself to freely repair or replace the faulty
spare-parts charging only the labour and carriage charges. Warranty has to be considered on
"Free PTM Visano headquarter" basis.
Conditions:
This warranty does not cover:
Damages caused during transport or movement of the goods, since products are
furnished on ex works loaded basis.
Costs and risks of transport related, directly or indirectly, to warranty of the product. It
is also referring to the carriage from assistance centre to customer and vice versa.
Periodical controls, handlings and reparations or replacements of spare parts, due to
normal wear and tear of time.
Accidental breakages, due to incorrect use or carelessness.
Costs born by PTM Assistance centres for modifications or necessary interventions said
to adapt the product to specific technical or security needs, or in order to adhere the
rules of the different Countries, as well as for all charges to be born to match products
with modified operatives conditions which occurred after relevant delivery.
Violation, cancellation, removal of identification label which is always stuck on our
products.
Damages to this product due to carelessness, falls, displacements, incorrect use and
because of following reasons:
Missing use of the product for its own normal purposes or in case of improper
use and handling of the products and so not in conformity with PTM instructions
at this matter.
Not observance of installation and use instructions or use in contrast with
security or technical rules in force in the Country where the product has to be
used.
Reparations made by people or assistance centres not duly authorised by PTM.
Accidents or consequences due to theft of vehicle transporting PTM product,
acts of vandalism, thunderbolts, fire, humidity, liquid infiltrations, inclemency of
the weather.
Addition or integration in device neither furnished nor recommended by PTM,
failing expressed written agreement.
Use for a different purpose than what the product is destined.
To get the warranty acknowledgement it is necessary to keep a document which is fiscally
valid and proving the date of purchase.
This warranty does not prejudice customer's rights duly reserved by the Law as well as the
national rules still into force, not even prejudice customer's rights towards the seller coming
from purchase and sale contract. In case of lack of a national law this warranty will be the
only and mere customer's protection and, neither PTM nor its distributor will be responsible
for any accidental or in direct damage, for the violation of any implicit or explicit warranty of
this product.
