Preface
Keeping a strictly spiritual explanation of a
vision can be an obstacle to sharing it with skeptics
and the difficulty increases when shared with non-
believers. In order to escape the tasteless narration
of a vision, I followed Saint Paul's arguments found
in 1 Corinthians 14, where he defended the gift of
prophecy as preferable in comparison to the gift of
tongues in that the former can be validated when
the prophecy is fulfilled while the latter is of no use
if it cannot be understood. To do that, mixing it
with a secular historical validation of the vision
gives it more credence. Thus, historical events are
chosen and analyzed for their significance as
references to a time referred to in the Bible.
Introduction
The turn of world events from a political
difference to a theological one between nations
asks the question where we are headed. The Middle
East conflict is now worse than when the cold war
was still on. The new independent former Soviet
republics now wants to join the North Atlantic
Treaty Organization (NATO) or the European
Union (EU), or both. Europe is now faced with
threats from Arab refugees fleeing the fighting in
Syria and Iraq which has drawn in official state
participation from countries like: the U.S., Russia,
the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, Turkey,
Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, not to mention
mujahideens from Islamic countries like Chechnya
and others; keeping us wondering whether the
“day of the Lord” is again upon us in the scale of
the desolation of the nations when Jerusalem fell.
When U.S. President George Bush, Sr. had asked
France' President Jacques Chirac for support in the
1991 Persian Gulf War, his vision of Gog and Magog
had prompted the latter to consult the foremost
theological professor of the University of France in
Lausanne. Without a definitive timeline and a total
perspective of end time prophecy, a scanty

understanding of Gog and Magog based only on
Ezekiel’s prophecy can be misleading.
Furthermore, the timeline must be reconciled with
secular calendars. In order to place a vision on firm
foundation in a secular environment it needs to be
reconciled prophetically and historically in the
secular sense.

Why Not a
Purist America
(For Now)
A purist view of America is also not
obtainable, and it may itself come under the helm
of a Roman Catholic who will espouse a vison of a
revived Holy Roman empire - the European Union,
and advance the agenda of the devil. Or spiritually,
as when the Republicans, icon of the religious
righteousness of America1 comes under the
influence of the devil himself leaving nothing
sacred atop its moral heights. Apostasy sets in. A
study of how the majority Protestant parties of
Germany had set the steps for Hitler's Nazis to rise
in power also showed that because of the sentiment
that the war reparations under the Treaty of
Versailles after Germany lost the First World War
was unjust, Protestants rallied behind Hitler's
nationalist vision to put Germany back to its
rightful place in Europe. In fact, it was the
minority Roman Catholics in Parliament who held
their votes against Hitler's party from gaining the
numbers for Hitler to rule as a dictator but

succumbed in the end. A moral and righteouss goal
was set aside for an economic and nationalistic one.
In this sense, a purist view of the high places that
institutions like the Religious Right and even the
church may not be obtainable because we know the
devil must take all the high places as he had done
before. Politics will be instrumental in attaining
this and false prophets and anti-Christs will deceive
many.
Looking at how these confluence of
events could rise, one notes in the case of America
that it was not only the physical taking over of the
high place of the American presidency that the
devil can wreck havoc but spiritually, as well.
Overwhelming debt of America to China, a Russian
ally contributed to this. China had amassed a large
fortune because it had not been engaged in
expensive wars, unlike America or Russia. The
resulting compromise to prevent the Chinese from
dumping US Treasury notes it held as security for
the loans allowed the Chinese to promote its
business interests in the US including
telecommunications which to date the US and
China are at a deadlock over espionage charges. 23
Several large Chinese businesses have infiltrated

the US market and emerged on top.45 Chinese
copies of branded consumer items sold cheaper
than their counterparts have become a favorite
alternative despite accusations of piracy. China has
also shown the world that it is technologically at
par with the US in the space race with an
international space station of its own and
expeditions to both the Moon and Mars, despite
accusations from the US of hacking. Taking
advantage of this, Russia pressed this onslaught on
America by leveraging the US presidency by
providing for an undiclosed amount to support the
campaign of then Republican presidential candidate
Donald Trump beset by an America now
beleaguered by economic woes, e.g. unemployment
and lack of investment.6 These put to doubt the
capability of President Donald Trump and the
Republicans to protect America's security which
was seen in the Capitol Riots instigated by him
where chaos reigned for a while as Vice President
Michael Pence became the object of the rioters. 7
Vice President Pence was seen with his aide and
several Senators hastily leaving Congress to escape
the rioters who have now entered the building.
Pence aide is seen holding the launch codes for
America's missile defense in case of a nuclear

attack in a briefcase and back pack. This was not
the first time that President Trump may have
compromised the security of America. In several
meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin,
Trump conversed with Putin alone without this
conversations recorded nor anyone knowing what
they had talked about contrary to protocol.8 While
the Republicans have often been viewed as the icon
for protecting the interests of America and the
Christian values that America stands for, the dire
economic situation that America found itself in,
points at the inadequacy of the visions of the
Religious Right and its successors. Its views are
often viewed as nothing more than a speculative
date setting for Armageddon which has become its
excuse for waging the very expensive wars abroad
to the satisfaction of its military-industrial
complex, more than any entity. “Ezekiel 38 and 39
and the Book of Revelation...”, which is often
quoted to describe Armageddon, “were mines of
useful imagery and Wycliffe was by no means the
first or last to recognise the 'great polemical use,'
the propagandistic value of prophetical Scriptures.” 9
However, without a timeline the date for
Armageddon cannot be determined. By the late 80s
President Ronald Reagan, the Religious Right and

evangelicals reduced the credibility they had
strongly gained earlier at the start of the decade
with the growing skepticism at their prophetic
ability to foretell the exact date of the end of time. 10
Then the evangelicals backing the party lost
ground after espousing an outlandish foreign policy
and more so after charges of sexual immorality
were brought against Jim Bakker and Jimmy
Swaggert.11 What it also makes is a good
theological study on eschatology when the devil is
able to take all the moral high ground, and the
consequence is apostasy. The minority Roman
Catholics on the other hand who were just as
ambivalent as the evalengicals, partly supporting
Reagan and the Republican's views, were generally
viewed as pacifists against nuclear aggression that
hardline Republicans espoused, which at best was
called “peace through strength.”12 Reagan had
earlier in the decade been religiously convicted that
America's possession and use of nuclear weapons
viz Russia, the Gog and Magog in Ezekiel, gave it
the primary role to play against the Russian evil
empire at the end of time. 13 Republicans lose
ground when they are seen to lose the spiritual
battle as a consequence of the inadequacy of their
religious vision particularly those pertaining to

eschatology. It is for this reason that Roman
Catholics with a vision like the Nazis of Hitler may
come to hold power because in a two-party system,
when the Republicans lose public opinion, only the
Democrats are the other option. Democrats are
also known for their liberalism besting Abraham
Lincoln's (R) Abolition with John F. Kennedy's (D)
Civil Rights and as the party first to field a black
president, Barack Obama (D) who authored the
Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) for
Iran. As a result, President Donald Trump (R) lost
the moral suasion that followed the presidency of
Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr. He
could not offset what was viewed as a an
accomodating and moderate stand on Islam by the
Democrats during Presidents Bill Clinton and
Barack Obama's terms who gained adherents in
black movements like Black Lives Matter. The
Democrats have often tempered hardline
Republican aggressiveness with peacefull efforts
resulting in a much more viable and stable politics
for Israel. The 1978 Camp David Accords through
the efforts of President Jimmy Carter (D) resulted in
the signing of the Peace Agreement between Israel
and Egypt and the Oslo Accords by President Bill
Clinton (D) resulted in the recognition of a two-

state Israel creating the West Bank and Gaza for the
Palestinians as a possible solution.1415 This was
followed by the partially implemented Road Map to
Peace of President George Bush, Sr. (R). 16 Then
came the (JCPOA) by President Barack Obama.
Todate, President Joe Biden (D) is looking at its re-
instatement after former president Trump
unilaterally terminated it together with the
Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF).
Nevertheless, the devil taking the high moral
ground of a Republican presidency, is offset by a
new pope who, then president Barack Obama called
America's pope. When Pope Benedict XVI, Joseph
Alosius Ratzinger resigned over accusations of his
incompetence to deal with the scandals that rocked
the Roman Catholic church it became a boon for
the Roman Catholic church as the new pope, Pope
Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) cleansed its ranks and
compensated for the damages the clergy caused in
the cases against paedophilia.17 The Vatican
cooperated in the money laundering cases filed
against the cardinals, clergy and layworkers who
administered over the finances of the church18. The
pope also renewed the 1939 decree of Pope Pius XI
to excommunicate membership in a communist
party.19 Same sex marriages, money laundering,

membership in the comunist party ordination of
nuns as priests and other immoral practices were
also sanctioned by the church.
It is when everything will just look
alright when they're not because the icons which
represent righteousness like the trusted institutions
and the personalities they endorse to lead turn into
their opposites and as a consequence, the very
thing that we expect does not come out but that
which we loathe to happen happens. The
institutions and the laws that are created to ensure
that a resurgence of such ill-fated events will not
happen, would surely come under the assault of
dark forces such that at the end apostasy sets in. It
beckons us to be prepared for this eventuality and a
well thought out plan is to do the Lord's will
without compromising the virtues that are at the
core of a Christian's spirit.
The reign of the Democrats, viewed as
liberals and pacifists, not only becomes a bane but
a boon. It is the consequence of their collective act
during the term of a Democrat president that will
determine if their policy was for the good of Israel
or not. Revelation 17:12 speaks of the authority

given the beasts to make war against the Lamb.
When France voted against the UN Security
Council Resolution for a Second Persian Gulf War
because it did not only believe that weapons of
mass destruction would be found in Iraq, given the
inadequate time for the inspection teams to
conduct an investigation, it gave rise to the
question of what the correct interpretation of Gog
and Magog is.20 The consequence was that it
prevented the UN from giving authority for the
Second Persian Gulf war which is now believe to be
the root cause of the destabilization in the Middle
East.21 The same also prompted Israel's PM
Benjamin Netanyahu to go to war against Iran in
order to neutralize it from possessing the means to
manufacture nuclear weapons. It is this asymmetric
confluence of events that Christians need to watch
out for.
