1. Purpose
The main purpose of this method statement is to describe the steps and outlines the safe working methods
and procedure for Installation of Architectural Lightings in compliance with all the required project
specifications, standards, and proper construction procedures for Sindalah Assets Clusters 3.
2. Scope of Works
The scope of this methodology covers but is not limited to supply and installation of Architectural Lightings in
accordance with approved Material Submittal, approved shop drawings, applicable codes, and Project
Specifications.
3. Objectives
The objective of this document is to:
1. To execute the work in the best quality and to achieve the intent of design.
2. To ensure maximum safety is established during activity.
3. To ensure that works are done in compliance with all NEOM’s requirements.
4. To establish coordination between all trades accordingly during execution.

6. Responsibilities
6.1 Project Manager
The Project Manager is the overall responsible for all project activities. He shall ensure that all
activities are time bound, quality bound, safety bound and are in line with the contract
requirements.

6.2 QA/QC Manager
The QA/QC Manager shall oversee the project with respect to all quality requirements. Ensuring
the consistency of quality compliance, products and services with reference to all applicable codes
and standards.
6.3 Construction Manager
The Construction Manager shall be responsible for implementation of this method statement &
oversee all construction work activities as required in the approved technical documents.
He shall ensure that all permits and coordination have been done prior to initiating the work.
He shall ensure that all works are done as per approved drawings, materials and qualified
personnel.
6.4 QA/QC Engineer
He shall be responsible for performing inspections /checking of materials, workmanship, required
documentation, evaluation and witnessing field related tests in-site and off-site as per approved
drawing and project requirements.
He shall be responsible for determining non-conformances and ensuring it’s closed on time and
properly.
He shall conduct all required inspections and tests are specified in the approved ITP.
6.5 Site Engineer
He shall be responsible for supervision activities and implementation of this method statement,
approved shop drawing and other technical requirements including the quality aspects of materials,
and good workmanship.
6.6 Land Surveyor
He shall be responsible for all survey works before during and after the activities.
He shall ensure to raise relevant survey WIRs as required as site.
6.7 Approved Third-Party Laboratory
He shall ensure that all testing activities are in full compliance with the testing standards.
He shall carryout all duties and responsibilities with respect to the approved project quality
requirements.
6.8 Foreman/ Charge-hand
Responsible for carrying out the works as per instructions of the Project Engineer/ Construction

Manager and provide proper documentation to his workers so they can proceed with tasks. Examine
the work location for any unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards prior to permit the
workers to start task and ensure adequate control measures are in place and conduct STARRT
briefing.
6.9 Scaffold Supervisor/Foreman
The Scaffold Supervisor/Foreman will implement, monitor, and enforce compliance tot the approved
Temporary Works Design and Method Statement/Risk Assessment daily. The scaffold supervisors will
also be Third party trained to ensure their competency levels are satisfactory.
6.10 Scaffold Inspector
Responsible for monitoring the design, certification of all scaffolding structure on site according to all
relevant specifications and standards. Inspect all scaffolds erected & after changes / alterations have
been made within Project to ensure they are suitable for safe use and comply with the relevant
industrial standards and maintain a record.
6.11 Scaffold Erector
Carryout the work as advised by the scaffold supervisor and follows all lawful employer safety and
health rules and regulations, and wear or use required protective equipment while working. Maintaining
fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds.
6.12 Workers
Carryout the work as advised by the Foreman/ Charge-hands and follow all lawful employer safety and
health rules and regulations, and wear or use required protective equipment while working. Report
hazardous conditions to the employer
7. Health, Safety and Environment Measures
7.1 General Safety Precautions
Monitor and ensure that all safety precautions are being followed by the respective engineers,
supervisory staff,
Ensure that the supervisory staff have checked that all personnel have undergone any necessary
induction trainings and that all personnel are equipped with (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment.
Ensure that all works have undergone the necessary pre-commencement STARRT talk provided
by the works supervisor.
Periodically inspect all works ensuring adequate signage and permits are in place.
Conduct inspections as and where necessary to ensure plant equipment is in full compliance with
the project’s requirements.
Where deemed appropriate issue corrective action notices and or observation reports in line with
procedures.

7.2 PPE/RPE Requirements
All workers engaged in the job site shall wear mandatory P.P.E. accordance to the NEOM requirement
but not limited to the following:
Safety Helmet
Safety Shoes and Clothes Cover.
Safety Glasses EN 166 (Dark Safety Glasses in case of unloading materials outside the building
and clear or half-clear safety glasses when the material installation process.)
High Visibility Luminous Vest
Cut Resistant Gloves (EN 420) – where necessary.
Hand Gloves (DIN EN 374) - where necessary
Face Mask – complying with EN 149 FFP2 (where necessary)
In case of inadequate ventilation, use of a NIOSH-approved respirator for dust (e.g., N95 or N100)
– where necessary.
Hearing protection (when required)
Safety harnesses (for workers on elevated platforms)
First Aid Kits
Fire fighters and emergency responders should wear positive pressure demand self-contained
breathing apparatus.

8. Quality Control during Activities
The Contractor shall perform at different stages of the work, all the responsibilities and duties that shall
meet fully the quality control requirements of Site mobilization works as described in this document, by
verifying, inspecting and testing through as per the attached ITP and dedicated quality control system.
The overall Quality Objective is to meet the requirements of the Client, achieve high level of customer
satisfaction and to deliver high quality services on time, in accordance with the stipulated time schedule
and within the allowed budget.
For meeting the Quality Objectives, the Project Quality Plan shall ensure the Project Team is performing
its task:
In accordance with the contract scope of work;
In a professional manner using suitably qualified personnel;
In accordance with regulatory requirements and codes of practice; and specific project procedure or

9. Control of Overlapping Activities and Work Interface with other contractors
In any case if there is an overlapping of works with other contractor or subcontractor’s activities,
an immediate coordination shall be initiated between the contractors concerned or involved in the
area of the activates.
Work interface areas for each of the contractors shall be highlighted in the concerned drawing and
shall be identified or marked at site for exact location and easy references.
In case of major overlapping dispute which cannot be solved between the contractors or
subcontractors, the issue shall be officially communicated to the client /consultant for final
resolution.

11. Materials

12. Delivery, Storage and Handling
The Material will be delivered once the site is ready for installation.
The storage location must be free from dampness.
Check the truck for any particles is there that may damage the material and if all are kept properly.
Keep the polyurethane sheet protection all around the sides.
For storing Architectural Lightings, they should be protected from rain and sun, preferably in a
ventilated building. Stack the material properly.
Arcitectural Lights for internal installation should also be protected from exposure to excessive
moisture and splashing by corrosive or staining materials.
Any materials not complying with the project documents shall not be consumed and shall be removed
from the project premises.
13. Work Sequence and Methodology
13.1 Preparation

All final finishes such as ceiling, walls, and floor must be completed and approved prior to install/
Place Architectural Lightings.
The location of Lightings should be verified as per the approved shop drawings.
Proper Coordination with all disciplines to ensure that there is no abortive and defective works
during the execution lightings.
Make sure all related activities are carried out prior to install / place any lightings.
Access to the work area should be restricted until completion of work, if required.
MEP Clearance / no objection to be obtained prior to install thirdfix
13.2 Methodology for Installation of Architectural Lightings
Ensure material inspection is approved before starting installation
Prior to start installation, Site Engineer should ensure that approved shop drawings related to the
installation area are referred and that required materials are available at site as per approved material
submittals and Project Specifications.
Mark the location for cutouts according to the approved shop drawing.
Use a hole saw or suitable cutting tool to make holes in the ceiling at the marked locations.
Ensure cutouts are same size and spaced as per manufactures recommendation and approved shop
drawing.
Complete with all wiring, connections, fittings and accessories for fixture to provide a complete,safe,
fully operational assembly.
Install surface mounted fixtures tight to the ceiling without showing a space or light leak between the
frame and the ceiling.
Support suspended fixtures on mild steel threaded rod as per approved shop drawing and
manufacture recommendation.
Partially uncoil the springs on the fittings and push into through cut-out, the fitting should pull itself up
into the cut out as per maniufactures recommendation.
For wall mounted reading lamp secure the mounting brackets/ fixtures into the wall joists using
appropriate screws and anchors and install the lights into the fixtures as per approved drawing and
manufactures recommendation.
For led lights make sure surface is cleaned, check for correct length and heights and LED strips are
installed as per approved shop drawing and manufactures recommendation.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for wiring connections, ensuring correct polarity and secure
connections.
The Architectural lightings & components will be provided completely in all areas as per the approved
shop drawing.
Adjust the angle and direction of the lights as needed to achieve the desired lighting effect
Ensure the minimum space requirements around the fixtures to allow for proper cooling.
All lighting fixtures to be leveled, aligned and tightened properly.
Ensure all accessories are properly earthed (By MEP Contractor)
Make sure that all cables and connections are securely connected before switching on the power.
Upon completion of installation, Testing and Commisioning raise inspection for approval.
13.3 Protection and cleaning

Working areas will be kept clean by disposing the waste materials at the designated areas. At the end
of days’ work, installation supervisor will ensure that the debris is disposed of.
Immediately after completion of the installation of Lighting Fixtures, clean the surfaces to remove stains
and debris.
Any damaged components will be replaced with new ones.
