Proficiency Training of Nurses in M&HS, DSP
Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Company,
invites applications from interested and eligible qualified nurses to undertake the “Proficiency Training’ in
600 bedded multi-specialty DSP hospital under M&HS department.
I. No. of Proficiency Trainees: 53

UPPER AGE LIMIT [VALID AS ON 30-06-2025 i.e. CLOSING DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION] :
II. General/ EWS : 30 years
OBC-NCL : 33 years
SC/ST : 35 years
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION [valid as on 30-06-2025 i.e. closing date of receipt of application]:

a) B.Sc. (Nursing)/ Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery with Minimum 60% of marks in
aggregate considering all semesters/years for General, EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and
Minimum 50% for SC/ST candidates.
b) Percentage of aggregate marks to be calculated as total marks obtained divided by the
total aggregate marks considering all semesters/years
c) Candidates having both the qualifications (B.Sc. and Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery),
the higher marks obtained in either of the examination will be considered for determining
eligibility
d) Certificate of Registration
Relaxation in educational qualification and in upper age limit will be extended only to the
candidates having valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL certificate on the closing date of receipt of application
i.e. 30-06-2025.
IV. DEPARTMENTS/ DISCIPLINES:
ICU/NICU/BICU, Medicine, Surgery, Obs. & Gyn, Paediatrics, Casualty, Orthopaedics, Chest & other allied areas.

V. DURATION :
18 (eighteen) months from the date of engagement.
VI. DAILY WORKING HOURS:
8 hours (as per shift) - One day off per week.
VII. STIPEND :
Stipend per month Rs.10000/-plus
Knowledge Enhancement Allowance per month (Maximum upto Rs.7020/- linked to attendance as under)

VIII. ACCOMMODATION:

For self at DSP Hospital only during training.

X. LEAVE:
15 days Special Leave (Maximum 10 days of leave may be granted in one spell) during the tenure.

XI. PROCEDURE:
(a) Eligible & interested candidates will be required to send scanned copy of the filled-in & duly signed
application in the prescribed format available in the advertisement (Annexure-A) along with
undertaking (Annexure -B) and self-attested scanned copies of all relevant certificates/testimonials
including photo identity card (Aadhar/PAN/EPIC) in support of their eligibility (in a single pdf file-
size limited to 10MB) through email to the e-mail ID [email protected] on or before
30-06-2025. No application received after the stipulated date (30-06-2025) will be entertained
for consideration for interview.

(b) Subject heading of the email should be “Application for PTN-2025 for DSP – ‘Name of the
candidate”.
(c) Documents to be sent through email in the pdf file are to be arranged in the following order:
i) Self-attested copy of Aadhar Card
ii) Application form (Annexure-A)
iii) Undertaking (Annexure-B)
iv) Self-attested copy in support of proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation / Secondary / Class X Pass
certificate)
v) Self-attested copy of caste/category certificate for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS candidates (valid &
issued by the Competent Authority). For OBC-NCL & EWS category, certificate must be issued in
the Financial Year 2025-26 i.e. on or after 01-04-2025
vi) Self-attested Pass Certificate(s) & Marksheets (all years / semesters) for professional qualification
[only B.Sc. (Nursing) or Diploma in GNM – as applicable]
vii) Self-attested State Nursing Council Registration certificate

(d) Enclosures as mentioned at Annexure-A i.e. Application Format, are to be submitted at the time of
reporting for engagement subject to the selection of the candidate. While applying through mail,
the pdf file must contain the documents as mentioned at Point- XI(c) only.
(e) If multiple applications are received from a single candidate, only the first submission will be
considered for processing. All subsequent emails related to the applicant will be summarily rejected.
Further incomplete application in any respect will summarily be rejected, Hence, candidates are
advised in their own interest to ensure that his/her application is complete in all respect before
sending the same through email.
(f) DSP will not be responsible for any transit delay and/or transaction failure of mails.
(g) Candidate are advised to send his/her application well in advance and not to wait for the last date of
submission of application.
Only applications that are complete in all respect as per the eligibility for the post and submitted with

all required documents within the closing date (30-06-2025) will be considered for interview.
Incomplete applications or those missing mandatory information/documents are liable to be rejected
without any further notice.
(i) Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the Interview schedule (date, time and link/User id and
password) through their registered e-mail id / via SMS. The candidates will be required to report for
online document verification and interview as per their allotted scheduled time-slot through the
shared link. Document Verification will be done online on the day of Interview. Original Filled-in
Application, Undertaking and relevant original certificates/testimonials in support of their
eligibility including Photo Identity Proofs (Aadhar, PAN, EPIC) required to be shown during
online document verification. After successful verification of documents, the candidates shall be
kept in waiting queue and subsequently to be allowed for online interview. During this process the
candidates must ensure the following for smooth execution of the process:
• Proper visibility and connectivity
• Original documents are available and to be produced on demand
• Candidate must ensure a stable internet connection, a functional webcam, and a
clear audio setup (microphone and speakers/headphones) prior to the interview.
Interview cannot be rescheduled due to technical issues on the candidate's side.
(j) Candidates will have to attend the online Interview at their own cost. Company will not be
responsible for issues relating to connectivity, non-availability of the candidate at the allotted
scheduled time etc.
(k) Candidates will be advised to attend the interview from a quiet & private place from where
he/she can focus without interruption and maintain the confidentiality of the discussion.
Presence of any other person in the candidate’s place of interview during the Interview
process is strictly prohibited.
(l) All certificate/ documents w.r.t. the eligibility specified in the advertisement will be verified with the
original documents during online document verification & on the day of engagement and if any
candidate fails to produce the same, he/she will not be allowed to appear for online
interview/engagement and their candidature will be cancelled. Therefore, candidates are advised to
ensure their eligibility before applying and appearing for the online interview & engagement.
(m) Selection of ‘Proficiency Trainee Nurses’ will be done by assessing their performance in the
interview only. In case of tie in final cut off score, candidate(s) with higher percentage of marks in
aggregate of qualifying qualification (B.Sc.-Nursing / Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery) shall be
selected.
(n) In case of non-possession of the “Certificate of Registration” at the time of engagement, the
selected trainees will have to deposit their “Certificate of Registration’ issued by State Nursing
Council within three months from the date of their engagement as Proficiency Trainee Nurses. Till
such time, the engagement of the proficiency trainee nurses will be Provisional.

 (o) ‘Proficiency Training of Nurses’ will start immediately after the selection of the candidate is
completed and are given offer of engagement as “Proficiency Trainee Nurse”.
(p) On completion of training in DSP for 18 months, a ‘Certificate of Proficiency’ will be issued by M&HS
department to the successful candidates based on their satisfactory performance. The certificate will
not be issued
- in case of provisional engagement as mentioned above
- in case of failure to complete entire duration of the training

(q) The list of selected candidates will be uploaded on the SAIL website. The offer of engagement will
be sent to their registered e-mail ID mentioning the date, time and venue for reporting for
engagement. The candidates reporting for engagement will be required to bring the Original filled-in
& duly signed Application form, Undertaking, and all relevant certificates/testimonials in support of
his/her eligibility including photo Identity proof with 01 set of self-attested copies of all relevant
certificates/testimonials in support of their eligibility including photo Identity proof.
(r) Candidates are advised to send their application through their dedicated email ID as further
communication will be done through that e-mail only. They are also advised to check their
email frequently and make necessary arrangements ready prior to the schedule date and
time of online interview.
XII. HOW TO APPLY:
Eligible & interested candidates are required to comply with the procedure as mentioned at point (XI)
[(a) to (g)] to appear for online interview as per the allotted schedule.
XIII GENERAL CONDITIONS:
(a) Candidate must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from an Institute
recognized by State Govt. / Central Govt.
(b) The minimum age of engagement as “Proficiency Trainee Nurse” is 18 years.
(c) All certificates in respect of eligibility criteria viz. requisite educational & professional qualification,
caste/category, proof of date of birth etc. are to be valid on the closing date of receipt of
application i.e 30-06-2025. OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate and Income & Asset
certificate for EWS category in the format for appointment to the posts under government of India/
Central government / Public Sector Undertakings issued by the competent authority during the
current financial year 2025-26 (i.e. issued on or after 01-04-2025)
(d) Presidential Directive/ Govt. guidelines, as applicable, on reservation would be followed.
(e) The engagement is purely for the purpose of “Proficiency Training’ and will not entitle the trainee to
stake any claim for appointment in Durgapur Steel Plant in any manner whatsoever.
(f) During the training period of 18 months, the trainees will be paid monthly stipend of Rs.10,000/-
and applicable Knowledge Enhancement Allowance linked to monthly attendance from the date of
their engagement as detailed in point VII.
(g) DSP reserves the sole authority/ prerogative in the matter of engagement of “Proficiency Training”
of nurses as per its rules and decision of DSP in this regard shall be firm & binding.
(h) DSP reserves the right to reject OR cancel the candidature OR the entire process including
interview or engage less than the no. of Proficiency Trainees indicated above, without assigning
any reason thereof and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
(i) Bringing influence at any stage of the selection process will disqualify the candidature.
(j) Candidature of an applicant is liable to be rejected/terminated at any stage of the selection process
or after selection or engagement if,
any information provided by the candidate is found to be false
OR
found not in conformity with requisite eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement
OR
Impersonation during selection process including interview.
This may also invite legal action as deemed fit.
(k) The advertised numbers of Proficiency Trainee to be taken is tentative. Durgapur Steel Plant
reserves the right to engage or not to engage all or any of the Proficiency Trainee without assigning
any reason whatsoever. Durgapur Steel Plant is not liable to compensate the applicant for the
consequential damages, if any, arising out of the aforesaid.

 (l) A caste/category-wise panel will be formed in order of merit (in the ratio of 1:1 i.e. no. of post
advertised: no. of candidates in panel) which will be operated in case of non-joining of candidates
against initial offer of engagement. The panel will be valid for a period of six months from the date
of approval of the merit list.
(m) No TA/DA will be paid for attending online interview / selection process.
(n) Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Durgapur, West Bengal.

XIV Schedule of interview:

Interview date, time and link for online document verification and Interview
will be intimated to the candidate’s registered email id / via SMS and/or by
uploading the list in SAIL website in due course.

Note: Candidates are advised to check their email id on regular basis for any updates about the schedule of
Interview. DSP will not be responsible for any transit delay and/or transaction failure of mails.

In response to the advt. No. DSP/PERS-NW/RECTT/PTN/2025/1410(DETL) dated 21-06-2025. I, Ms./Mr.

do hereby submit my application for ‘Proficiency Training of Nurse’ in Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) Hospital,
M&HS department.
1. I do hereby undertake that -
a. I am willing to pursue the ‘Proficiency Training’ programme in M&HS department, DSP for which the
selection will be done on the basis of my performance in the online interview. The duration of the
training is 18 months.
b. I agree to accept payment of stipend amount of Rs.10000/- and admissible allowances at the
stipulated rates mentioned in the advertisement, which shall be made from the date of my
engagement as ‘Proficiency Trainee’.
c. I shall submit the “Certificate of Registration’ issued by the State Nursing Council within three
months from the date of my engagement as ‘Proficiency Trainee’. Till such time, my engagement
will be on provisional basis.
d. I shall have no claim for issuance of “Certificate of Proficiency” if I am engaged on ‘Provisional’
basis & I fail to submit my “Certificate of Registration” issued by the State Nursing Council and also
in case of failure to complete entire duration of the training.
e. My selection for the ‘Proficiency Training’ does not entitle me to any claim for employment in DSP in
any post, whatsoever.
f. I shall attend the online interview at scheduled date & time at my own cost.

2. In respect of all matters for which no specific provision has been made herein, the decision of the DSP
authority in respect of the concerned matter will be final and binding.
3. Any violation of rules and discipline or any activity causing disruption to the hospital/department working
or bringing disrepute to the hospital/department shall be punishable or shall result in termination of my
training.
4. DSP reserves the sole authority to accept OR reject my application for ‘Proficiency Training’ in DSP
Hospital and the decision of DSP in this regard is final and binding.
5. Candidature of an applicant is liable to be rejected/terminated at any stage of the selection process or
after selection or engagement on the following grounds:
i. if any information provided by the candidate is found to be false OR
ii. if information not in conformity with requisite eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement OR
iii. found impersonation during selection process including interview.
This may also invite legal action as deemed fit.

6. I fulfill all the eligibility criteria, as specified in the advertisement and I agree to produce all requisite
