5. Work instruction
5.1 Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety goggles, gloves,
hard hats, and steel-toed boots.
Work Area: Ensure the work area is clear of obstructions and hazards.
Avoid Loose Clothing: Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that may get
caught in moving parts.
5.2 Pre-Operation Checks
Inspect the Mixer: Check for any visible damages or wear on the mixer drum
and components.
Check Power Supply: Ensure the electrical supply is safe and properly
connected (for electric mixers).
Check Fuel Levels: For gas-powered mixers, ensure there is enough fuel and
check for leaks.
5.3 Starting the Mixer
Turn on the Power: Switch the power button to the "ON" position (for electric
mixers).
Start the Engine: For gas-powered mixers, follow the manufacturer’s instructions
for starting the engine.
Adjust Settings: Set the mixer to the appropriate speed, if applicable.
5.4 Mixing Concrete
Add Ingredients:
Pour the required amount of water into the mixer first.
Add the dry ingredients (cement, sand, gravel) gradually while the mixer is
running.
Mixing Duration: Allow the mixer to run for the recommended mixing time
(usually 3 to 5 minutes) to achieve uniform consistency.
Check Consistency: Stop the mixer and check the consistency of the concrete.
Add more water or dry materials as needed.
5.5 Discharging Concrete
Position the Mixer: Tilt the mixer drum towards the pouring area.
Discharge the Mixture: Open the discharge chute and allow the concrete to flow
out.
Use a Shovel or Trowel: Assist in directing the concrete as it is poured.
5.6 Maintenance Instructions
Daily Checks: Inspect the mixer for any visible damage or wear after each use.
Clean After Use: Ensure the mixer is cleaned thoroughly after each use to prevent
concrete buildup.
Lubricate Moving Parts: Regularly lubricate bearings and any moving parts as per
the manufacturer’s recommendations.
5.7 Emergency Procedures
In Case of Fire: Evacuate the area and use a fire extinguisher if safe to do so.
In Case of Malfunction: Immediately turn off the mixer and report any issues to
the responsible body.
