This collection is perfect for morning work or literacy
centers! Students quickly become able to finish independently.

1. Trace and read each word in the scrambled sentence.

2. Arrange the words to create a sentence that makes sense.
3. Print the sentence neatly using proper formation.
4. Use the checklist to edit the sentence.
5. A student partner edits the sentence (and signs his/her name.)
6. Read the sentence aloud to a partner.
7. Illustrate to show comprehension.

*NOTE: Sentence Builder Kits 2 and 3 cover more complex

sentence writing tasks, such as quotation marks, contractions,
and part of speech. Sentence Builder Kits 4, 5 and 6 focus on
digraphs, blends, trigraphs and compound words.

PART 1: Four & Five Word Sentences

All of the sentences in the first set have

four or five words and all have an dog in the top
right corner (for organization).

The four word sentences are listed first

and the sentences increase in difficulty.

The repetition of words, sentences structure

and tense are intended to offer manageable
vocabulary for emergent readers so the
tasks can be completed with independence.
Sentences also practice
approximately 50 sight
words, color words and
number words!
