Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is one among 13 Public Sector Universities of Health
Sciences in the Country, which is making a niche in the Medical Education over last few years. It has
164 affiliated colleges of various health sciences education and about 35000 students are on roll with
the University. In addition to the various courses pertaining to the health sciences, the University has
unique distinction of running skill development courses in as many as 60 streams which is helpful to
develop human resources which is a great need of the society. These skill development Courses are in
line with the thoughts of Hon'ble Prime Minister. The University is committed for transparency,
accessibility and problem solving approach for the students and maintaining standards as per
statutory bodies like NMC, PMC, PDC, DCI & INC. The University and its affiliated colleges are putting
best efforts to enhance the facilities, so that ambience of better learning is created.
To add to it, it is worth mentioning here that the GGSMC, Faridkot is running super specialty
services in Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Pediatric Surgery, Neonatology as well as Plastic
Surgery. In all these departments, the services are provided by the specialist doctors in their respective
fields.
University dedicates the effort to provide Competency Based Education and Training with
uniform curriculum to touch upon the fields of education, Medical Education Technologies (MET) and
R&D.

Note-2: Sports Category Candidates will submit printed/hard copy of online submitted form personally (by
hand) in the University along with Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab
and other supporting self-attested copies of certificates/documents to enable this office to send the
same to the Director Sports, Punjab for preparation of Sports Merit List as per their
Policy/Notification.
Note-3: Candidate should fulfill the eligibility criteria as prescribed in the Notification to be issued by the Govt.
of Punjab from time to time.
Note-4: Candidate shall mandatorily upload the requisite documents i.e. Birth Certificate, 10+1 & 10+2 in
Medical Stream, Permanent Resident certificate etc. on University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in by
logging into his/her account on University website.
Note-5: The Provisional selection/allotment of seat in the counseling will be subject to verification of the
original documents/checking of eligibility by the Principal of the concerned college. It shall be the sole
responsibility of the Principal to authenticate the eligibility (as per Punjab Govt.
Notification/Prospectus/MCC guidelines) of the allocated candidate before admitting the candidate to
allotted course.
Note-6: Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age
on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission. The candidates must be born on or before
31.12.2008.
Note-7: The candidates who are not eligible for State Quota seats in MBBS Course as per Pb. Govt. Notification
will be considered during subsequent Rounds of Counseling for BDS Course only after exhausting
Punjab State candidates.
Note-8: Candidates who will apply for reserved/micro reserved (except J&K migrants) category will have to
produce their respective category certificates issued by the Competent Authority of State of Punjab
only.
Note-9: Candidates who are Permanent resident of Punjab shall produce their Certificate as per as per clause
11 (d) of Punjab Govt. Notification duly issued by the concerned Competent Authority as per
prescribed format.
Note-10: The NMC vide letter No. U-11021/343/23931/2024-UGMEB dated 11.08.2024 in compliance
of the orders dated 20.09.2024 passed by Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana in the
matter of Vasu Sirohi Vs State of Punjab & ors. In CWP No. 29483 of 2022 & CWP No. 29374
of 2022 titled Himanshu Verma & ors. Vs SOP & Ors. respectively has resolved to create one
supernumerary seat for Smt. Vasu Sirohi (Petitioner) at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar State Institute of
Medical Sciences, (AIMS) Sahibjada, Ajit Singh Nagar which will be further adjusted for the
annual intake for the academic year 2025-26.Thus the annual intake of MBBS students for
academic year 2024-25 was increased by one seat i.e. from 100 to 101 at DBRSIMS (AIMS),
Mohali and annual intake of MBBS students for academic year 2025-26 shall be decreased by
one seat i.e. from 100 to 99.
Accordingly, one seat at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIMS)
Sahibjada, Ajit Singh Nagar is decreased from the intake of session 2025-26 i.e. from 100 to
99.

INTRODUCTION
BRIEF HISTORY:
The University was established at Faridkot under an Act of Punjab State Legislature (Punjab
Act No. 18 of 1998) in the name of great Sufi Saint Sheikh Farid Ganj-E-Shakar, (1173 1265 A.D.) in
1998 for purposes of affiliating, teaching and ensuring proper and systematic instruction, training and
research in Modern Systems of Medicine and Indian Systems of Medicine. It is not only affiliating and
examining body but also a teaching and research centre in health sciences. It is expected to play a
vital role in improving the standards of medical and health education in the state and in conducting
relevant research in all aspects of health sciences, basic as well as applied, which ultimately will
ameliorate the health standards of the people of Punjab. II is believed that the university will be a
trend setter in developing appropriate modes and models of health care to ensure quality health care
to the people. The University has been recognized by MCI vide letter no. V/11015/3/2000-ME (UG)
dated 9th June, 2000. The UGC has also included the University in the list of recognized universities
maintained by the University Grants Commission, under section 2(1) of the UGC Act. 1956 vide letter
no. F.9-3/97 (CPP-I) dated 4 July. 2002. The Regional Director. World Health Organization, Regional
Office for South-East Asia, World Health House, New Delhi has also forwarded the name of the
University for inclusion in the World Directory of Medical Schools vide letter No. M12/6212 dated 6
May 2002. The University is also included in the list of Commonwealth Universities and their
yearbook 2001 at page No. 692 (Vol. l). Established with a mission to create an intellectual, academic
and physical environment conducive to free flow of ideas and exchange of information between
various faculties of the university, between this university and other universities of health sciences in
the country and abroad, thereby opening a window to the world for the health professionals, health
planners, health managers, biomedical and social scientists and educationalists in health sciences of
the country. Efforts are on to establish contact with various institutions towards achieving this goal.
UNIVERSITY'S PRESENT STATUS: New buildings of the University and its constituent college, GGS
Medical College & Hospital were completed in the year 2011. The university was shifted to its new
building situated at Sadiq Road, Faridkot in July 2011. Hon'ble Chief Minister, Punjab inaugurated two
new University buildings (Senate Block and Academic Block) on 22-09-2011. Hon'ble Deputy Chief
Minister inaugurated the Radiotherapy Unit, and other buildings of GGS Medical College & Hospital,
on 23-09-2011. The GGS Medical College & Hospital, a constituent college of the University is also
shifted to its new building. The University Campus comprises of GGS Medical College along with
Auditorium of 800 capacity, Senate Block, Academic Block, University College of Nursing, University
College of Physiotherapy, University Institute of Para-Medical Sciences, University Institute of
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dept. of Nuclear Medicine, Telemedicine, Edusat and a well equipped state-
of-the-art 1200 bedded hospital, Drug De-addiction & Treatment Centre at Faridkot. The State

Institute of Nursing and Para-Medical Sciences, Village – Badal (Muktsar), Institute of Nursing
(University Regional Centre) at Shri Goindwal Sahib and Advanced Cancer Diagnostic Treatment &
Research Centre and Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centre at Bathinda are also run by University.
Coveted projects to set up Trauma Centre, Regional Cancer Centre are in process. The University has
added to its academic convoy University Library & Informatics Division, Department of Health
Sciences Library & Information System, University Centre of Excellence in Research, Rose Garden and
Herbal Garden. The university has started number of employment-oriented diploma courses and
certificate programs in health sciences and allied services.

At present the University is having 164 affiliated colleges (09 Medical, 14 Dental, 124 Nursing,

care delivery and medical education and research in the State. Admissions to various undergraduate
and post graduate courses in the affiliated institutions of this University in the State of Punjab are
made on merit basis through the conduct of Entrance Tests. The PPMET-2025 is being accordingly
conducted to enroll suitable candidates in the Nursing Colleges of the State for the session 2025. The

PART-A
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ IN DETAIL)
1. This prospectus is divided into 3 parts:
Part-A Pertains to the general procedure for applying to admission, submission of admission
application/counseling form, deposition of fee, important instructions, joining, etc and
demonstration of steps for applying online application form and filling online
choices/preference of course/college/quota during online counseling.
Part-B Pertains to Punjab Govt. Notifications/corrigendum issued from time to time for
admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
2. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions laid out in the Prospectus and University website.
Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be disqualified.
3. This prospectus is subject to alteration(s) / modification(s) at any time without notice. Please visit
University website from time to time. Admissions including Eligibility to MBBS/BDS Courses shall
be governed and regulated as per the rules and regulations etc., as per Punjab Govt. notifications.
4. Instructions in this prospectus are liable to change based on decision(s) taken by the Punjab
Government/University/Govt. of India/MCC from time to time. There is no equity or any rights
that are/or deemed to be arising in favour of candidate.
5. The candidate should read the eligibility condition carefully. Mere submission of application for
admission/counseling does not entitle him/her for admission. Eligibility conditions for admissions
are given in the Notification. The eligibility shall be determined by the Admission
Committee/Principal of concerned college at the time of counseling/admission. Those who are
not eligible as per Punjab Govt. notification will not be considered for admission. Eligibility is also
subject to medical fitness and such criteria as may be prescribed by the Punjab Government/
University/Medical institutions/ National Medical Commission/Dental Council of India.
6. Candidate’s eligibility is purely provisional & subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as per
Punjab Government Notification incorporated in this prospectus.
7. Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated information shall not be considered and
candidates shall be further debarred from participating in any future counseling to be conducted
by BFUHS, Faridkot.
8. Any attempt by a candidate to influence directly or indirectly any person concerned with the
admission process will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
9. Distribution of seats will be as per Punjab Govt. Notification, the list of eligible colleges/seats may
increase/decrease, subject to the orders of Hon'ble Courts/NMC/DCI/Govt. The final position of
seats will be displayed at the time of counselling.
10. Seat matrix process shall be available on the university website at the time of filling
options/preferences of College/Quota/Category for online counseling.
11. The admission for MBBS/BDS courses shall be made only to those institutions which have
permission from all of the concerned authorities.
12. Allocation of seat is provisional subject to verification of original documents/checking of eligibility
by the Principal of concerned Medical/Dental Colleges. It is sole responsibility of the Principal to
authenticate the eligibility of the provisionally allocated candidates before their
joining/admission.
13. The fee structure for the Government/Privately managed colleges is as per Punjab Government
notification(s) for MBBS/BDS courses. If Punjab Government issues any subsequent
amendment/corrigendum for change in fee structure, the same will be applicable in letter and
spirit.
14. In case of any discrepancy or contradiction between the Government notification/s and the
University instructions contained in this Prospectus, the letter and spirit of the notification(s) shall
be prevailing, however in academic matters the University shall be the final Authority.

15. Deposition of fee does not confirm the admission of the candidate, whether it is challenged in the
Hon'ble Court.
16. Changes, if any, in the Schedule / Counseling etc. shall be notified only through website of the
University i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in
17. The allotment of College to the applicants for admission, shall be made as per merit determined
on the basis of NEET-UG-2025 and the choice of the station opted by the candidate at the time of
online counseling.
18. Ragging is prohibited in all forms. This is for the information of all candidates that as per Hon’ble
Supreme Court of India, if any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the
concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if explanation is not found satisfactory,
action will be taken as per rules.
19. HSLIBNET FEE:-University has started Health Sciences Library Network (HSLIBNET) to provide access to e-
resources to the students of all colleges affiliated with the University for which one time fee as mentioned
below or as amended from time to time will be charged from all students who got admission in MBBS/BDS
courses. HSLIBNET fee will be collected alongwith tuition fee at the time of admission: -:-
The Post Matric Scholarship will be as per guidelines of Govt. of Punjab and amended
from time to time.

23. Candidates applying under any of the reserve category are directed to fill the right category
code mentioned in this prospectus for claiming reservation under a category and also
upload/bring/attach all relevant documents/proof of respective category with online admission
application form and photocopies and original documents at the time of counseling/admission.
24. Instructions for NRI Candidates only:- Candidates who wants to apply under NRI quota seats,
have to obtain provisional Eligibility/equivalency certificate from BFUHS, Faridkot and will have to
qualify NEET-UG-2025 and candidates will apply on prescribed proforma available on university
website along with prescribed fee for seats under NRI Quota.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:
1. The admission to MBBS/BDS Courses shall be open to candidates who have qualified NEET-UG-
2025 and eligible as per Punjab Govt. notifications and subsequent
amendment(s)/corrigendum(s).
2. Merely applying for admission to MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of NEET-UG-2025 will not
entitle the Candidates eligibility. A Merit of a candidate for admission will be determined by the
Admission Committee strictly as per rules and regulations laid down in the Punjab Govt.
Notification(s) as published in this prospectus and all other such documents as are required with
the ADMISSION APPLICATION FORM.
3. Counseling/Admissions shall be conducted by the Admission Committee constituted by the
Punjab Government for this purpose.

1. Candidates should read the Punjab Govt. notification and instructions as contained in the
Prospectus carefully on University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in.
2. Only NEET-UG-2025 qualified candidates are eligible to apply for admission to MBBS/BDS
Courses.
3. Candidates are required to register themselves for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses
through online portal by due date and time.
4. Candidates are advised to fill the online admission application form well in advance to avoid
the network congestion in the last days. BFUHS will not be responsible for network
congestion/problems. No request for accepting the forms after cut-off date will be
entertained.
5. Following documents are required to be uploaded for the online registration:
i. Soft copy of Photograph of the candidate (Maximum size 30 KB).
ii. Soft copy of the signatures of the candidate (Maximum Size 30 KB).
Specifications for Photograph:–
I. A colour photograph of minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face &
head of the candidate.
II. A caption indicating name of candidate and date of taking photograph should be
there at the bottom of photo.
I. Photograph should be taken in a white /very light colored background.
II. Photograph should not have cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if being used
regularly. POLAROID and COMPUTER generated photos are not acceptable.
V. The photograph needs to display full front view of the face. Please look directly into
the camera with a neutral expression.
VI. Please avoid photograph with reflection or shadow on the face.
VII. The photograph needs to be printed on a high quality paper with at least 600 dpi
resolutions.
VIII. The colours must possess the natural appearance and skin tone.
IX. The photograph must not have kinks, scratches and stains.
Note: Applications not complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to
be rejected.
6. Candidate will have to submit the correct account details as required at the time of
submission of online application form and will upload the cancelled cheque of same
account in support of verification of account number for fee refund (as applicable).
7. After completion of filling online admission application form, University will issue a unique
Registration ID (i.e. Login ID) and password to the candidate at his/her registered Mobile
number through SMS/ email
8. Merely submission of online application form & fee does not confer any right to the
candidate secure a seat for MBBS/BDS course.
9. No request for submitting online Admission Application Form after due date/time will be
entertained on any ground.
10. Candidate shall submit online ADMISSION APPLICATION FORM only once. Applications
submitted more than once are liable to be rejected.
11. Candidates are required to fill online Admission Application Form very carefully and should
not leave any column blank.
12. After filling of successful online Admission Application Form, candidate has to deposit the fee
through online payment gateway of University.
13. Admission Application forms applied without fee will not be accepted.
14. After the last date for applying online application form, it will get locked automatically.
Thereafter no change(regarding any particulars) can be made and no request/application
will be considered/accepted, in this regard.
Step-II Deposition of Fee:- Candidates will have to deposit the fee through online payment gateway
of University.

13. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions printed in the Prospectus and University
website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be disqualified.
14. Fill category carefully in the online Admission Application Form. Category once claimed will not
be changed in any case after submitting the form.
Those candidates, who do not fill/claim any category code as per prospectus or fill a wrong
category code other than mentioned in prospectus, will be treated in Open merit. The
candidate may select a category code from the codes given below and fill the category
accordingly. More than one category may be filled by a candidate if it is considered applicable
in the candidate's particular case. Category codes are exclusively for the purpose of
facilitating the candidates to know and understand his/her respective merit placement at the
time of counseling in various reserved categories as have been filled by him/her. Reserve
category selection on the part of the candidate shall not in any case be construed to give
him/her any legitimacy or right or claim on the benefits for reserved seats during admission.
Claims to admissions against reserved seats in MBBS/BDS courses will be on the basis of
appropriate claims made in the Admission Application Form subject to rules and regulations
contained in the Punjab Government Notifications printed in the Part-B of this prospectus
and as per the decisions of the Selection Committee constituted for this purpose by the
Punjab Government.
Note:- No benefit of reservation whatsoever shall be given if the claim is not made in
Admission Application Form. Change in category or any other particular is allowed
before the last date for submission of application form and thereafter no change will
be allowed under any circumstances.
15. After successful registration of the applicant, a unique Registration ID (i.e. Login ID) and
password will be allotted to the candidate at his/her registered mobile no. or email through
SMS or by email. Registration ID and password shall be required from time to time
throughout the process of admission, the candidates are therefore advised not to disclose it
to any unknown person and to keep it confidential.

6. In case any candidate wants to quit the course/seat, he/she will have to submit application
to the respective college regarding his/her surrender of seat with free exit/forfeiture of
fee within stipulated period (date and time) as per notice published on the University
website. In case of surrender with forfeiture, the penalty will be imposed as per Gazette
Notification No. MCI-34(41)/2018-Med./109835 dated 18/05/2018 (available at page no.
69 to 71).
7. It is pertinent to mention here that the candidates can fill the choices of colleges/quota
which are not reflecting in the vacancy position of seats as few seats may arise due to
shifting of candidates from one college/quota/category to another college during
subsequent round of counseling as per instructions of MCC, Govt. of India. In this regard, it

in Medical and Dental Institutes in the state of Punjab for the session 2024 onwards. The Govt. of
Punjab vide Corrigendum notification No. (e723871)MER-HTH305C/9/2024-5HB3/I/1125449/2025
dated 1306.2025 revised the fee structure for session 2025 for admission to MBBS courses in Private
Health Sciences Educational Institutions as under :
The Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court has passed the following interim Orders
(operative part) dated 07.07.2025 in CWP NO. 18210-2025 (O&M) titled Adesh University and
Other Vs State of Punjab and others:
“ in the meantime, directions issued by the Co-ordinate Bench of the Court vide order dated
18.09.2020 (Annexure P-17) (in paragraphs 10 and 11 in CWP No. 14902 of 2020) shall also be
applicable to the Petitioners qua 2025-2026 in this case
The Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court vide interim order dated 18th September, 2020 in
CWP no. 14902-2020 titled Adesh University of Health Sciences, Bathinda and another Vs State of
Punjab and another has ordered to collect the fee prescribed for the Management Quota even in
respect of 50% Government Quota seats from the candidates admitted in Adesh Institute of
Medical Sciences & Research, Bathinda. The differential fees, if any payable by the students would
be subject to the final outcome in CWP no. 14902-2020.
Therefore, in compliance to the above orders the following fee is to be charged for admission
to MBBS course, Session 2025-26 at Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Bathinda:
