Rhythm

Definition: A pattern of movement or sound in time.

Importance: Guides timing and coordination.

Example: Marching to a drumbeat, clapping to the beat.

Change Step

Used to shift weight from one foot to another.

Example: Step right, close left beside right, step right again.

Close Step

Bringing one foot close to the other.

Purpose: To transition smoothly.

Example: Step left to side, close right beside.

Creative Rhythm

Freestyle movements that match the music.

Importance: Encourages expression.

Example: Improvised steps or claps.

Social and Ballroom Dance

Social Dance: For recreation and socialization (e.g., Cha-cha, Swing).


Ballroom Dance: Formal partner dances (e.g., Waltz, Tango).

Folk Dance

Definition: Traditional dances reflecting community life and culture.
