AICUF – All India Catholic University Federation
AICUF – All India Catholic University Federation is a movement of University students with
a vision for a new and just Society. It is the student’s movement which spreads awareness on
social issues. AICUF cultivates leadership qualities. It encourages religious harmony and
equality among the students and fights for the rights of the poor, Dalit, Tribal and Women.
(Marginalised people in the society) .Mass is conducted on all first Friday of the month for
the catholic students and faculty members for spiritual growth.
The membership of AICUF is open to university students who share the ideals of the
movement as enshrined in its constitution. However, every member state has the autonomy to
decide on its own policy regarding membership. Every member is entitled to participate in all
the decision - making activities of the unit. However, a member can be selected as an office-
bearer only on completion of one year in the AICUF, except in the case of newly formed
units.
VISION :
“We are born in an “Unjust Society” and we are determined not leave it as we have found
it!”. The AICUF’s vision is “to sensitize students towards those at the margins and involve
ourselves in the struggle for their basic rights by equipping ourselves physically,
intellectually and spiritually while networking with NGOs and peoples’ movements.”
MISION :
AICUF aims at making student sensitized about several social issues and injustices done to
the marginalized sectors.

Members:
The membership of AICUF are open to university students who share the ideals of the
movement as enshrined in its constitution. However, every member state has the autonomy to
decide on its own policy regarding membership.

Structure:
AICUF's structure is geared to ensure its mass students movement character. The AICUF
functions at the national, state, regional and unit levels. The state is the primary decision
making body in AICUF. The various states are linked at the national level as members of a
federation.
Aims & Objectives
To help students evolve spirituality rooted in God, this integrates contemplation and
action and promotes humanization through praxis: involvement-reflection-evaluation-
action.
To enable students to develop a critical awareness and analysis of the Indian and
world situation, to cultivate a deep and genuine concern for the oppressed and
marginalized and to effectively commit themselves to the task of building a new and
just society.
To help students evolve spirituality that has humanization as its core through
involvement and reflection.
To motivate students to become involved in studies, research and activates linked to
broader social issues and struggles with a view to becoming a creative and critical
force within the university.
AICUF is committed to social justice and encourages it through action on every
possible platform.
To enable Christian students to play a prophetic role in their communities through a
critical understanding of their faith, drawing inspiration from the Gospels, the
Eucharist and their prayer life.

Mr. Ranjith, AICUF Coordinator,
05.08.2024 AICUF MEMBER introduced the program by
SELECTION PROGRAMME explaining AICUF's history,
founded in 1924 by Fr. Carty. The
organization's primary goal is to
empower Dalit refugees and
Adivasi women. AICUF
membership is based on students'
willingness to participate.

05.09.2024 explained AICUF's importance, the
Indian Constitution, and decided
on monthly themes, with
September being "Black Month".
Students were encouraged to attend
Grama Sabha meetings to
understand village issues and
contribute to improvement.
Comrade Ranjith visited our
college to promote street play and
rural arts. He introduced the
AICUF MEETING FOR
11-10-2024 – October theme, "Green Month",
MOTIVATING STUDENTS
13.10.2024 and discussed tree planting. Over
the next two days, students learned
rural arts, including drumming as
individuals and groups. On the
final day, he explained AICUF's
history and ideology, highlighting
the importance of rural arts.
The program began at 10am, with

EMPOWERING OG WOMEN presiding. He explained AICUF's
history and various student
movements, including SFI and
DRAW. He also discussed Article
21 of the Indian Constitution,
highlighting the fundamental right
to life, liberty, dignity, livelihood,
and a healthy environment.
