ODYSSEY : FLAIR HUNT 2025-26 : Where Talent Whispers, and the World Listens Intently

A talent hunt is more than just a competition - it is a celebration of imagination, voice, and originality. At
Unison International School, we believe that recognizing and nurturing the hidden talents of our students
lays the foundation for their self-confidence and future success.
With this vision, we are proud to present ODYSSEY : FLAIR HUNT 2025-26, Season 4, scheduled on 19th July
2025 (Saturday) during school hours, for students of Grades II to XI. This vibrant talent fest is designed to
provide a platform where students can explore, express, and elevate their inner creativity through a wide
variety of events.
It is mandatory for every student to participate in at least one event. A student may participate in a
maximum of two events.
Parents, who play a vital role in identifying and nurturing their child’s potential, are encouraged to actively
support and guide them throughout this journey.
In this garden of learning, it is only when we water the seeds of talent that success blooms with brilliance.
We invite every student to discover their flair and showcase it with pride.
Let your child choose and prepare to participate in any one (or two) of the following events:
EVENT 1 : UNLEASH THE POWER OF MELODY : GRADE III TO XI :

COMPETITION : Singing (Indian/Western Vocal)

GENRE : • Bhajan: Devotional songs.


• Prayer: Songs of worship.
• Ragas: Melodic compositions.
• Sufi Songs: Mystic melodies.
• Patriotic Songs: Nationalistic tunes.
• Ghazals: Poetic melodies.
• Inspirational / Motivational songs
• Peace / Harmony

RULES TO FOLLOW : • Song Selection: The chosen song


must be appropriate and sensible.
• Karaoke Arrangement: Participants
are responsible for arranging their
own karaoke, if needed.
• Music Submission: The approved
music should be shared in a well-
labeled pen drive, in Mp3 format,
with the relevant teacher.

EVENT 2 : SHAKE, RATTLE, AND ROLL! : GRADE II TO XI :

EVENT 5 : ECHOES OF WISDOM: DOHAS AND SHLOKAS : GRADE II TO XI

RULES TO FOLLOW: • Participants must present original


or traditional Dohas (couplets)
and Shlokas (verses) from Indian
literature.
• 2 – 3 Shlokas with explanation

EVENT 6 : ELOQUENT SPEAKER, VOICE THAT INSPIRES: GRADES VI TO XI :
COMPETITION : Extempore

GENRE : Topics will be given on the spot

JUDGMENT CRITERIA : Voice quality, Rhythm, Articulation,


Dynamics, Confidence, Expression

RULES TO FOLLOW : • Speaking Duration: Participants must


deliver a speech in English on the
given topic for 2 minutes. A warning
bell will ring at 1 minute 30 seconds.
• Material Prohibited: Participants are
not permitted to have any paper or
materials with them during the
speech.
• 15 to 20 minutes will be given to
prepare a content of the topic given
on the spot

EVENT 7 : OUR TIME TO SPEAK : GRADE VIII TO XI


COMPETITION : Debate

GENRE : Topics to be given on the spot.

RULES TO FOLLOW : • Topics will be disclosed 30 minutes
prior to the competition at the

• During the presentation, judges
may challenge the participant to
speak from the opposite stance.
• No paper reading is allowed—the
speech must be memorized and
spoken freely.
• Mode of presentation is English
only; other languages are not
permitted.

EVENT 8 : TRANSFORMING TRASH TO TREASURE: GRADES III TO XI :

COMPETITION : Best Out of Waste

• Rejection of Non-Waste Items:
Entries will be disqualified if the item
used is not a waste product or second-
hand item.
• Prohibition of Pre-Made Models:
Participants are not allowed to submit
pre-made or semi-finished models or
materials for the competition.

the school on the spot.

disqualification from the catwalk
event, such as failure to adhere to
rules, misconduct, or unprofessional
behavior.
• Students will be disqualified if their
catwalk presentation fails to adhere to
the assigned theme.

word; the team must sing a relevant
song starting with or including that

or after receiving a word prompt.
• The judge’s decision is final.

EVENT 25 : WORD WARRIORS : GRADE VII TO XI

COMPETITION : Scrabble Word Play

GENRE : To strengthen vocabulary and improve


literacy skills of young minds

JUDGMENT CRITERIA : • No points will be awarded for


invalid or incorrect words.
• The sum of unused tiles will be
deducted from the player’s final
score.
• If a player uses all their tiles, the
sum of the opponent’s unplayed
tiles will be added to their score.
• A 50-point bonus will be awarded
for using all tiles in a single turn.

RULES TO FOLLOW: • This is a solo competition.


• Each player/team is given 30
minutes in total.
• 2 minutes per turn are allowed for
each player.
• A maximum of 2 passes is allowed;
the game will end after the second
pass.
• Players may exchange tiles only
twice, and doing so will result in
losing that turn.
• Once 6 tiles remain in the bag, tile
exchange is no longer allowed.
• The same word cannot be played
more than once.
• Plurals are only allowed on the first
play of a word.
• Prefixes, suffixes, and prepositions
are not allowed as standalone
words.
• If a word is deemed unacceptable,
the tiles must be taken back, and
the player loses the turn.

• The Oxford Dictionary is the


official reference for word validity.

EVENT 26 : CLAY MOULDING CARNIVAL : GRADE II :

permitted).
• Participants must bring their own
modelling clay and tools.
• Use of natural or decorative add-
ons (like pebbles, grass, shells) is
allowed to enhance the model, but
clay should remain the primary
medium.

EVENT 27 : NUMQUEST : Grade III TO XI

RULES TO FOLLOW: • Preliminary rounds will be held 2


days prior to the final
competition.
• Participants shortlisted in the
preliminary round will move
forward to the final round.
• Students will be grouped into
three categories:
• Grade III – V, Grade VI – VIII
• Grade IX – XI
• Each team will consist of 3
participants.
• The quiz will include mental

• Depth of Subject Understanding

RULES TO FOLLOW : • Preliminary rounds will be


conducted 2 days prior to the final
competition.
• Participants shortlisted in the
preliminary round will proceed to
the final round.
• Students will be grouped into four
categories:
• Grade IV – V, Grade VI – VII
• Grade VIII – IX, Grade X – XI
• Each team will consist of 2
participants.
• The quiz will be conducted in
progressive rounds with increasing
levels of difficulty.
• Study material for preparation will
be shared by 30th May.
• Evaluation will be based on team
performance and scores.
