NOTIFICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF GRADUATE APPRENTICES UNDER
APPRENTICES ACT,1961
Baira Siul Power Station, a unit of NHPC Limited (A Mini Ratna Category-1 Government of
India Enterprise) invites applications from eligible Graduate Engineers for undergoing Apprenticeship
Training under Apprentice Act,1961 in the following disciplines :

1. Eligibility:
(a) Educational Qualifications: The applicant should have passed the 04 Year Engineering Degree
examination in respective disciplines from any institution recognized by AICTE through regular
mode.
(b) Age limit: 18-30 years(Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL will be as per the Government Directives).
(c) The Applicant who have already completed 3 years, after having passed the qualifying Degree as
on 01.01.2022 are not eligible to apply under this notification.
(d) Who have acquired prior training/experience for more than one year as on 01.01.2022 are also
not eligible to apply.
(e) Candidate who have already Completed their apprenticeship training or terminated their
apprenticeship training mid-way or pursuing apprenticeship in any other organization or any
other units of NHPC are not eligible.
2. Stipend: A monthly stipend of Rs. 9000/- shall be given to the Graduate Apprentice
Trainees during their one year Apprenticeship at Baira Siul Power Station as per norms of
Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and guidelines of Ministry of Skill as per Apprentice Act and/or
Notification of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India, New
Delhi, as amended from time to time.
3. Reservation: Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) and EWS as per the provision of
Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and guidelines issued by Government in this regard.
4. Preference shall be given as under:
(a) The first priority shall be given to the applicants from Tehsil: Salooni & Churah of

District Chamba, being adjoining areas of Baira Siul Power Station on the basis of their
proof of residence.
(b) The second preference shall be given to the applicants of District Chamba other than
Tehsil: Salooni & Churah.
5. Candidate should be eligible with respect of age criteria and education qualification as on
close date advertisement. Candidate whose results are awaited are not eligible, hence, need not
apply.
06. The selection for the Apprenticeship Trainee will not create/confer and/or confirm any
right whatsoever for appointment in NHPC Limited.
7. The selected candidates will not be provided with any accommodation(or any other facility).
They will have to make their own arrangements for their stay during the training period.
08. How to apply:-
a) The Candidate must go through the terms & conditions as mentioned in the notification.
b) The candidate must have a valid mobile number & E-Mail ID before applying for apprenticeship.
The eligible candidates should register themselves on Apprenticeship portal at
www.mhrdnats.gov.in and apply through the portal. The Registration number, generated in
the portal should be mentioned in the relevant column of Apprenticeship Application form of
Baira Siul Power Station.
c) The candidate has to take print out of Apprenticeship Application form and send along with
Passport size photograph, all the self-attested certificates of Educational qualification, B.Tech.
marksheet & certificate, Domicile certificate, Caste Certificate, copy of Adhaar card, PAN card etc.
to the below mentioned address by Speed Post/Registered Post/ by Hand till 07.12.2021.

09. Selection procedure:
a) The eligible and shortlisted candidates will be issued call letter through mail for
interview intimating date/time and venue. Selection of candidates will be made on the
basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the
respective trade, performance in the Personal Interview and successful verification of their
documents.
(b) The weightage to Educational Qualification, Technical Qualification and Personal
Interview shall be 20%,40% and 40% respectively for final selection.
(c) The selected candidates are required to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by
District Civil Surgeon or equivalent authority before engagement as Apprentice Trainee, as
per the Apprentice Act, 1961.
(d) No TA/DA shall be paid for Personal Interview/verification of documents.

(Please note: candidate registration, if not successful on Apprenticeship portal their candidature
cannot be considered for Apprenticeship Training.)
10. Baira Siul Power Station (NHPC Limited) reserves the right to increase/ decrease /cancel
the number of vacancies against trades of apprentice or add or deleted any trades in order to
fulfil the minimum requirement of power Station to engage Graduate Apprentices or even
cancel this Advertisement /Notification without assigning any reason thereof.
