 रृदो योगः रृद्रोगः


The disease pertaining to heart

 रृदमे फाधाां रृद्रोगां तां प्रचऺते


(Su.Ut 43)

 रृदमे फाधाां कुर्वन्तत तां रृद्रोगां प्रचऺते (Dalhana)


That which causes Badha to Hridaya or any condition that causes
Vyadhi to Hridaya is called as Hridroga

 Hridaya is the Chethana Sthana

 It is also the Moola of Dhamanis

 Prana, Ojas also have seat in Hridaya

 Therefore Hridaya has to be well protected

 It is an important Marma hence interlinked in many


physiology and pathology

 Thus Hridroga holds an utmost importance in patient


care as it causes a danger to life

VATAJA HRIDROGA

 When a person experiences Shoka, Upavasa,
excessive Vyayama, intakes Ruksha, Shushka & Alpa
Bhojana
 Vata aggravates and reaches Hridaya and causes
Hridroga
Lakshanas are 15

 Ruja - Pain
 Vepathu - Tremors
 Veshtana - Cramps
 Sthambha - Stiffness
 Moha - Unconsciousness
 Feeling of shoonyata/emptyness
 Severe pain after digestion of food
PITTAJA HRIDROGA 16

उष्णाम्ररर्णऺायकटुकाजीणवबोजनैः|
भर्दमक्रोधातऩैश्चार्ु रृदद वऩत्तां प्रकुप्मतत||३२||
रृर्ददाहन्ततक्तता र्क्रे ततक्ताम्रोर्दचगयणां क्रभः|
तष्ृ णा भूर्चछाव भ्रभः तर्ेदः वऩत्तरृद्रोगरऺणभ ्||३३||

Excessive intake of Ushna, Amla, Lavana, Kshara, Katu &


Ajeerna Bhojana, Madya, Krodha and excess Atapa Sevana
leads to Pitta Dushti and causes Pittaja Hridroga
Lakshanas are 17

Daha in chest
Tikta rasa in mouth -
Tikta amla udgara - Bitter & Sour Belching
Klama - Exhaustion
Thrishna - Thirst
Murcha - Fainting
Bhrama - Gidiness
Sweda – Excess sweating

KAPHAJA HRIDROGA

अत्मादानां गरुु न्तनग्धभचचततनभचेष्टनभ ्|


तनद्रासुखां चाभ्मचधकां कपरृद्रोगकायणभ ्||३४||
रृदमां कपरृद्रोगे सप्ु तां न्ततभभतबारयकभ ्|
ततद्रारुचचऩयीततम बर्त्मश्भार्त ृ ां मथा||३५||

Consumption of excess food, intake of Guru & Snigdha Ahara,


Achinthana & Acheshtana (less mental & physical activities),
excessive sleeping will cause Kapha Prakopa and will result in
Kapha Hridroga

 Supti - Numbness
 Sthimitha Bharikam - Stifness & Heaviness in heart
 Tandra - Drowsiness
 Aruchi - Anorexia

SANNIPATAJA HRIDROGA

हे तर ु ऺणसांसगावदर्चु मते सान्तनऩाततकः|


(रृद्रोगः कष्टदः कष्टसाध्म उक्तो भहवषवभबः)
त्रत्रदोषजे तु रृद्रोगे मो दयु ात्भा तनषेर्ते||३६||
(Cha.Su.17/36)

Involvement of all the doshas. Lakshanas of all the


doshas will be present. More painful and difficult to cure

KRIMIJA HRIDROGA

ततरऺीयगड ु ादीतन ग्रन्तथतततमोऩजामते|


भभैकदे र्े सङ्कक्रेदां यसश्चातमोऩगर्चछतत||३७||
सङ्कक्रेदात ् क्रक्रभमश्चातम बर्तत्मुऩहतात्भनः|
भभैकदे र्े ते जाताः सऩवततो बऺमन्तत च||३८||
तुर्दमभानां स रृदमां सूचीभबरयर् भतमते|
तछर्दमभानां मथा र्तत्रैजावतकर्णडूां भहारुजभ ्||३९||
रृद्रोगां क्रक्रभभजां त्र्ेतैभरवङ्कगैफुर्द
व ध्र्ा सुदारुणभ ्|

 Tridosha involvment

 Excessive intake of Tila, Ksheera, Guda etc causes


formation of Granthi (nodules) in Hridaya. Rasa is more
Kleda in this part of Hridaya

 This Kledatva leads to formation of Krimi in Hridaya

 Krimi crawls all over Hridaya and eats away the structures

 Patient feels Toda as if pierced by a needle

 Also Kandu and Ruja will be present

 Sudaruna and it is very acute

 Thus treatment should not be delayed

क्रभः सादो भ्रभः र्ोषो ऻेमाततेषाभऩ ु द्रर्ाः |


क्रक्रभभजे क्रक्रभभजातीनाां श्रैन्ष्भकाणाां च मे भताः ||८||
