Symptom
This document explains how to use configtool in console mode. This tool can be used to configure these settings.
Configuring Template and Instance Properties
Configuring JVM Parameters
Modifying Service, Manager, or Application Properties
Configuring Shared Table
Limitations:
The secure store settings (e.g. DB connection) are not available in the console version, only in the GUI version.

Environment
SAP NetWeaver Java all versions

Resolution
1. Navigate to <SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool.
2. Double-click on consoleconfig script(Windows) or run ./consoleconfig.sh, The below screen will be displayed. Enter the
corresponding key for Template/Instance as per the configuration that would like to be done (For Template Level enter
6; For Instance Level enter 7).

3. For example, selecting Template by entering the key 6, will display the options below. Next based on the desired
configuration, the corresponding key can be entered.

5. For example, to increase the thread count at the template level, when reaching the above screen enter 12 to select Managers
, then enter 14; Edit Manager info.

6. Enter 'N' until the desired property is reached. In this example we are editing InitialThreadCount. When the desired
property is reached, enter 'E'

7. Console configtool will ask to enter custom value for the property , in this example it is initialThreadCount. Enter the
custom value. Here we enter 50.
8. To check if the new value is saved, go back to the main menu by entering 'S'
9. To get Manager Info, enter 13 and you will new the new value under Custom Properties
