Charity and Generosity
Learning Competency
Demonstrate charity/generosity as values derived from
Sūraĥ Al-Layl and Sūraĥ Al-Fajr by sharing with siblings and
friends.
REMC Makatao, Column IV #3, p.50
Background Information for Learners
There is a saying, “It is better to give than to receive.” Allāh
Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala teaches His people to be generous at all times.
Charity and generosity is the voluntary giving of help, typically
in the form of money to those in need.
Based on Sūraĥ Al-Layl, “He who spends his wealth for increase in
self-purification, and have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a
reward is expected in return, except only the desire to seek the
appearance of his Lord, the Most High; He surely will be pleased when
he will enter paradise”.
As a child like you, how will you apply generosity in its simplest
form?
