The ideal and accurate method of

Calculating dose of children
(depending on the child’s weight)
For example,

We want to calculate the dose of Flagyl for a one-

year-old child

⁃ the dose of Flagyl is 30mg/kg/d per child per day

⁃ a one-year-old child weighs approximately 10

kilograms.

With this equation, we can calculate weight

without a scale by age
(age x 2)+ 8 = the weight

* 30 multiplied by 10 equals 300 mg per day.

⁃ The concentration of the syrup is 125 mg per 5 ml

You have 5 ml, including 125 mg, and you need to

take 300 mg per day (scissors method).

5ml 125 mg

??? 300 mg
Quantity required per day = 12 ml daily

Dividing the result by the number of times a day

means, for example, if twice (then he will take 6 ml
every 12 hours
