Minecraft Bee

Finished Size Colors

6” long • A: Yellow for body
5” wide (not including wings) • B: Black for body, feet,
5” tall antennae, stinger
• C: Blue for eyes
Supplies • D: White for wings

• 165 yards of aran weight yarn

o 60 yards yellow (A)
Swatch
o 90 yards black (B) 14 sc by 14 rows = 4” square
o 15 yards white (D)
o Small amount of blue for eyes (C) Key (US terms)
• 4.5mm crochet hook ch: Chain
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle sc: Single Crochet
• Stuffing cc: Color Change
• Fabric stiffening spray (optional but
recommended) st: Stitch

Notes
- There are two versions of the wings at two different difficulty levels. Version 1 is more accurate
to the bee in the game, but harder to make. If you’re not as confident in your skills, version 2 is
much easier and still looks good.
- I change color by finishing the previous stitch in the new color and doing the next stitches of the
new color over the starting tail to keep it secured.
- I recommend weaving the tails in as you go. I try to only stitch over the yarn tail in the same
color though, to avoid it peeking through. Once your ends are secure, if they will be inside with
the stuffing, you can just leave them as is. All other tails should be weaved in completely and
cut.

Pattern
This pattern is made in 10-21 pieces (depending on chosen wing style and optional pieces), then sewn
together.

Make 2

There are two options for the wings. Version 1 is more accurate to the bee from the game, but more
difficult to complete. Version 2 is an easier alternative.

Minecraft Bee
Assembly
Block all pieces, if desired. Using a fabric stiffener is recommended for the wings, antennae, feet, and
stinger to keep them in their desired shapes.

Sew the top and bottom pieces to the top and bottom of the head, making sure to connect yellow to
yellow. Next, sew the sides onto the head, matching up the small black patches with the eyes. It should
look like the image below.

Next, sew the small part of the antennae onto the inner vertical sides of the black spots on the face.
They should face perpendicular to the face and stick straight out when the piece so far is laid flat.

Sew the feet similarly (also perpendicular) to the bottom piece, in the positions marked in the diagram
below.

Minecraft Bee
Sew the stinger perpendicularly onto the butt into the position marked below.

Sew the black squares of the wings onto the top piece as shown below.

Sew together the sides of the bee. Next, sew on three sides of the butt, leaving the fourth side open.
Use that opening to stuff the bee, then sew closed.
