GENERAL POLICIES & PLAYING CONDITIONS

1) Player Eligibility

Player must be born on or after these dates to play in each age group.

• Teams are encouraged to check players IDS before the game in the presence of the main
umpire. Valid IDS are Passport, PR Card, Health Card. A picture or PDF is acceptable but an
original may be requested in some cases by the league management to ensure authenticity of
the player ID.

• Players need to play minimum of 3 league games in each age category to be eligible for
playoffs stage of that age group.

• Players are allowed to play for only 1 team taking part in that age group, there will be no player
transfers after their teams first game of the season.

• Teams fielding an ineligible player will forfeit all points from that match and face disciplinary
actions or fines of CAD $300 by the league.

• An ineligible player will face suspension and/or fine of CAD $200 by the league.

General Guidelines:

• During Powerplay 1 – only 2 fielders outside the circle.


• During Powerplay 2 – only 4 fielders outside the circle.
• During Powerplay 3 – only 5 fielders outside the circle.
• Minimum 7 players required for Toss.
• Minimum 8 players required for Match to start.
• Approximately 4 Minutes/Over.
• 30 Overs – Around 2 Hrs/Innings.
• 40 Overs – Arounds 3 Hrs/Innings.
• Regular ICC Cricket rules to be followed otherwise.
• Umpires responsible to ensure smooth operations.
• Umpires will decide and adjust number of overs and target in case of rain delays.
• Umpires will decide if ground conditions are suitable for play after heavy rain.
• League will try their best to reschedule washed out matches.

3) Clothing & Equipment Guidelines

• All players must wear their team uniforms.

• All players should at least have the same team shirt.

• Players without team shirts will not be allowed to participate in the match.

• Batters have to wear all appropriate safety gear when playing.

• Batters have to wear colored pads, no white pads allowed.

• Wicketkeepers have to wear helmet at all times, unless team coach allow them to keep
without it for pacers. When keeping up to stumps, helmets must be worn by Wicket
Keepers, no exceptions.

• No saliva or other materials should be used to alter the condition of the match ball at
any stage of the game. If a player is caught for doing this by umpire, 15 penalty runs will
be awarded to the other team.

4) Match Sheet & Scoring

• TDCA match sheet needs to be printed and filled out by both team captains before the
game. Umpire is responsible for completing the match sheet after the game and giving it
back to the winning team captain.

• Live scoring will take place on TDCA’s Cricclubs platform, it is the coaches
responsibility to ensure efficient data entry. Each team is responsible for scoring their
own batting innings.

• All teams should have a manual score book in case of technological failures.

5) Points & Playoff Format

• Match Winning Team – 6 Points.

• Tied Match – 4 Points Each Team.

• No Result – 3 Points Each Team (Points Shared).

• If game abandoned less than 8 overs in the 2nd innings, No Result.

• No Super Over during league stages.

• Teams will be ranked by the greatest number of points to determine their position.

• If teams are at tied points, net run rate will determine their position.

• If NRR is tied, then head-to-head result will be looked at.

• Top 2 teams in league stage will advance to Final directly in all age categories.

• If Final is tied, teams will keep playing a Super Over until a winner is determined.

6) Spirit of the Game

• Players, coaches and all stakeholders must act in the best interests of the game.

• Umpires decision will always be final.

• Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy this league.
