Section A (1 mark each)

(Short Answer Questions - 1 mark each, 10 questions, 10 marks total)


1. Find the ratio of 2.5 kg to 500 grams.
2. If 35% of a number is 280, find the number.
3. Solve for x: 3x + 5 = 17.
4. Find the area of a square whose side is 8 cm.
5. Express the ratio 5:8 in percentage form.
6. Convert 0.125 into a percentage.
7. The sum of three consecutive integers is 60. Find the smallest
number.
8. A circle has a radius of 7 cm. Find its circumference.
9. Find the height of a triangle with base 10 cm and area 30 cm².
10. Find the perimeter of a square whose diagonal is 10 cm.

Section B (2 marks each)

(Short Answer Questions - 2 marks each, 10 questions, 20 marks total)


11. A certain sum of money amounts to ₹660 after 3 years and ₹726
after 4 years at simple interest. Find the principal amount.
12. If 2× - 5 = 3x + 7, find the value of x.
13. If the circumference of a circle is 44 cm, find its radius. (Take \pi =
\frac{22}{7})
14. The perimeter of a triangle is 30 cm. If two of its sides are 10 cm and
8 cm, find the third side.
15. A number when increased by 25% becomes 125. Find the original
number.
16. If a: b = 2:3 and b: c = 4:5, find a: c.
17. Find the missing value: 40% of __ = 80.
18. The length and breadth of a rectangle are in the ratio 3:2. If its
perimeter is 40 cm, find its length and breadth.
19. Find the area of a triangle whose base is 12 cm and height is 9 cm.
20. If the side of a square is increased by 20%, find the percentage
increase in its area.

21. Two numbers are in the ratio 5:7. Their sum is 144. Find the numbers.
22. A shopkeeper marks an item at ₹1200 and gives a discount of 25%.
Find the selling price.
23. Solve: 2(x - 3) + 4 = 3x - 2.
24. The area of a square is equal to the area of a circle of radius 7 cm.
Find the side of the square.
25. A sum of ₹5000 is divided between two people in the ratio 3:2. Find
each share.
26. The perimeter of a rectangle is 60 cm, and its length is 20 cm. Find
its area.
27. Find the height of a cylinder with radius 7 cm and volume 1540 cm³.
(Take \pi = \frac{22}{7})
28. A wire of length 88 cm is bent into the shape of a square. Find the
area of the square.
29. A sum of ₹6000 is borrowed at 10% per annum simple interest. Find
the amount to be paid after 5 years.
30. The base angles of an isosceles triangle are each 40°. Find the third
angle.

Section D (4 marks each)

(Long Answer Questions - 4 marks each, 5 questions, 20 marks total)


31. The sum of ages of a father and his son is 50 years. Ten years ago,
the father’s age was four times the son’s age. Find their present ages.
32. A park is in the form of a rectangle of length 60 m and breadth 40 m.
A circular fountain of radius 7 m is built inside the park. Find the remaining
area of the park.
33. The difference between 60% and 40% of a number is 40. Find the
number.
34. The ratio of the ages of two sisters is 3:5. After 6 years, their ages
will be in the ratio 4:6. Find their present ages.
35. A right-angled triangle has sides 6 cm and 8 cm. Find its hypotenuse
and area.
