Addiction
Awareness
“Recognise the Signs. Reclaim Your Life”

Addiction doesn’t always start loudly. It can creep in quietly—through habits that become harmful over time.
Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, prescription meds, or other substances, the earlier we identify the signs, the
sooner we can act.

Early Signs of Addiction: Effects of Addiction:

• Increased tolerance (needing more to feel the same effect) • Decline in physical and mental health
• Withdrawal symptoms when not using • Strained relationships
• Loss of control over use • Poor academic performance
• Neglecting responsibilities (academic, social, personal) • Legal and financial problems
• Hiding or lying about use • Loss of interest in hobbies and goals
• Using to cope with stress or emotions • Feelings of guilt, shame, or hopelessness
