A case of ulcerative colitis cured successfully with homoeopathy: A case report Prafull Kumar and
Prajakta Rahul Mane Abstract Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease which causes
inflammation and ulcers in the lining of colon and rectum which leads to the symptoms such as
abdominal pain, diarrhea and rectal bleeding. The exact cause behind ulcerative colitis is unknown
however the causes are thought to be combination of genetic, environmental and immune factors. This
disease causes a significant distress upon health related quality of life. The treatment of ulcerative colitis
is basically focuses on anti inflammatory medications and surgical removal of a part or whole of colon if
medication don’t work. In Homoeopathy the basic aim to treat a patient is to provide individualized
Homoeopathic treatment by considering all genetic, emotional, environmental and immunological
factors by complete case taking .Thus Homoeopathy provides holistic treatment which cures the patient.
