Read the Text:

"The Great Rainstorm"

Last year, a terrible storm hit a small village in the north. The sky turned dark, and clouds covered
the sun. Suddenly, there was lightning and loud thunder. The wind blew strongly, and the rain
didn’t stop for two days.

The people in the village were afraid and had to leave their homes because of the flood. Water
filled the streets and damaged many buildings. Firefighters helped people escape using ladders and
boats. Some people carried buckets to take the water out of their homes.

A girl named Lili became a hero. She helped her little brother climb to the roof and stayed calm
until help came. Later, a firefighter gave her a blanket and told her she was very brave.

After the storm, volunteers came to clean the mud and fix the houses. People gathered in the
school, which was on a hill, because it was safe and dry. They brought food and water, and
everyone helped each other.

Now, the village looks different. Many houses are new, and people feel stronger because they
worked together. The sky is blue again, and the fields are green. As a result of the hard times, the
community became closer than ever.
