be completed before you can enroll in first-year courses.

* Applicants missing the required ELP (English Language Proficiency) score such as TOEFL/IELTS/EmSAT Achieve-English cannot
book for English placement tests until the required score reports are submitted. However, applicants can book for the Math and
Physics placements tests as required by their majors.
** Applicants with Undeclared majors are required to complete the Placement Tests relevant to their intended majors.

About Placement Tests
The Testing Center is currently offering Home Placement Tests which are accessed from your own computer at home
using iLearn. To be admitted to a test, you must present your original, valid and signed passport or your UAE National ID. If your
passport or UAE National ID will not be available on the day of the exam for unavoidable reasons, please contact
[email protected] at least three working days prior to the scheduled test date.
If you have any difficulties taking the test from home, please send [email protected] an email to arrange for onsite testing.
General Test Rules:
• The duration of each placement test is 90 minutes and the test will automatically end when 90 minutes have elapsed.
• Major placement tests can be taken only once.
Calculator Policy:
• Physical calculators are not allowed.
• Math: A calculator is not required for this test. If you wish to use it, use the Respondus Built-in calculator.
• Physics & Math: You are allowed to use a Built-in Scientific Calculator.
Your Guide to Placement Tests
Before the Test:
• Please go to banner.aus.edu and log in to Web Enabled Interface for Students using your AUS email username and
password to book for your placement tests. For more information refer to www.aus.edu/testing-center/aus-placement-
tests
• The AUS Major Placement Tests must be taken on your personal computer at home using the AUS Learning System
(https://ilearn.aus.edu/); with the Respondus Lockdown Browser. Additionally, you are required to open the Zoom
application on your smartphone for proctoring purposes.
• Download and install Respondus Lockdown Browser on your computer in advance, as the test cannot be taken using a
common web browser.
• Download and install the Zoom application on your smartphone.
• Ensure you have a stable internet connection throughout the test.
During the Test:
• Use your computer to view the test instructions and access the test link.
• For proctoring purposes, use your mobile phone to launch the Zoom application and sign into the Zoom meeting using
the information mentioned in your test instructions email.
• An email containing test instructions and a Zoom link will be sent to your AUS email address prior to the test date.
• Position your smartphone in a stable location beside you, ensuring that both your face and workspace are clearly visible.
• Log in to the Zoom meeting and the iLearn platform at least 15 minutes before the test to verify system readiness.
• Ensure that both your laptop and mobile phone are fully charged or connected to power throughout the test.
• You must sit alone in a private room during the test.
After the Test:
• The Math and Physics placement test scores will be displayed on the iLearn screen immediately after the test.
• Log in to Web Enabled Interface for Students on banner.aus.edu using the AUS email username and password to view:
o The English placement test score three to five days after the test date.
o Math and Physics placement test scores two days after the test date.
