Course Objectives: This course (EE201) will enable students to:
CO1 understand elementary graph theory as applied to electrical networks.

CO2 understand the network theorems and analysis of magnetically coupled circuits.

CO3 analysis of two port network and transient response

CO4 understand the concept of network synthesis.

Topics Covered as per Syllabus:

UNIT-1 (NETWORK TOPOLOGY)

Definitions: branch, node, tree, Co-tree, planar, non-planar graph, graph of a network: incidence matrix, basic
tie set matrix, basic cut set matrix and formation of loop and node equations, Duality and dual of a network.

UNIT-2 (NETWORK THEOREMS FOR AC CIRCUITS)


Superposition Theorem, Thevenin‘s and Norton‘s Theorems, Maximum Power Transfer Theorem, Reciprocity
Theorem, Millman‘s Theorem, Compensation Theorem, Tellegen‘s Theorem.

UNIT-3 (DC TRANSIENTS)
Teaching Science- Qualities of an effective Teacher, Duties of Teacher- Who is a competent Teacher,
In-Service Teacher Education, and Remedial Teaching in Sciences: For the Exceptional and the
retarded Children. (RBT: 1, and 2)
UNIT-4 (STEADY STATE ANALYSIS OF AC CIRCUITS)
Response to sinusoidal excitation - pure resistance, pure inductance, pure capacitance, impedance concept, phase
angle, Complex impedance and phasor notations-series and parallel R-L, R-C, R-L-C circuits and problem
solving using mesh and nodal analysis. (RBT: 1, and 2)

UNIT-5 (RESONANCE AND FILTERS)
