Microsoft Windows 8 Professional or Windows XP Professional+SP3.
In Windows XP Professional operating system, set power applying plan in Control Panel as
"Always on", and set "turn off the monitor", "shut down the hard drive" and "system standby" as
"Never". In Windows 7 Professional operating system, choose Control Panel > System and
Security > Power Options, and set "Turn off the display" and "Put the computer to sleep" as

Use the following Internet browsers which have been verified to be compatible with the software:
Internet Explorer 6.0
Internet Explorer 7.0
Internet Explorer 8.0
Internet Explorer 9.0
Internet Explorer 10
Firefox
Chrome
NOTE:
All the service and maintenance work should be performed by the service engineers of
the manufacturer or trained personnel.
1.2 Hard Disk Partition
The hard disk should be partitioned during or after the installation of the operating system. Please
divide the hard disk into at least three partitions. For example, divide the hard disk into four
partitions: (C :), (D :), (E :), and (F :). Partition C with a size of 100 GB is the system partition for
the OS and the MFM-CNS program. Partition E with a size of at least 100 GB is the backup
partition for backing up the data of the OS. If another way of backup is adopted, it is not
necessary to have this partition. Partition D with a size of at least 100 GB is for data storage. You
can distribute the memory portion to Partition D based on the total volume of your hard disk.
Sufficient capacity of this partition is recommended.
NOTE:
All the images in this guide book are based on Windows 7/8 system. Hard disk drives
may vary according to different OS.

1.3 Hardware Driver
To ensure that the MFM-CNS runs properly, you should install a network adapter, video adapter,
audio adapter as well as their respective drivers on your computer prior to the installation of the
software; otherwise, some functional failures may occur.
If the driver for the network adapter is not installed, the system cannot be connected to the
bedside monitors; thereby, the system cannot play the part of monitoring.
If the driver for the video adapter is not installed, the system display will be abnormal and
some delay may be caused when refreshing data.
If the driver for the audio adapter is not installed, the system cannot play the alarm sound and
thus fails to indicate an alarm by sound.
1.4 Installing a Printer
To perform the printing function of the MFM-CNS software, you need to install a printer prior to
using it. Printers of the HP LaserJet series are recommended.
1.5 Dual Displays
Two displays companied with dual video adapters (or a video adapter supporting double displays)
are required if you need to show monitoring data with two screens. Also, please make sure the
two displays are with the same brand, the same type and set with the same resolution. You may
refer to the user manual for more information about the display.
After the video adapter is equipped, please install a driver for it and select the desktop mode as
"Extend these displays" mode, as shown in the following figure. Besides, you need to set the
"Orientation" to "Landscape".

software is installed. For example, if the IP address of the server computer is 192.168.4.19, you
have to set the server IP address on the monitor to 192.168.4.19 accordingly.
NOTE:
1 Please make sure that the network adapter as well as the required driver has been
installed in the computer prior to network setup, or you may not go on with the setup.
2 If multiple monitors are simultaneously connected to the same MFM-CNS system,
please make sure all these monitors share the same server IP address but not the
same bed No., or some monitors cannot be connected to the MFM-CNS system.
