About Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University)
Kristu Jayanti, Bengaluru, established in 1999 and managed by the Bodhi Niketan Trust of the Carmelites of
Mary Immaculate (CMI), is a premier institution dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development.
In recognition of its consistent pursuit of quality and innovation, Kristu Jayanti has been conferred the status
of Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by the Government of India on July 8, 2025.
With this milestone, the institution gains greater autonomy in curriculum design, interdisciplinary
research, and societal engagement. It was reaccredited with an grade by NAAC in 2021, ranked 60th in NIRF
2024, and holds international accreditation from ACBSP (USA). The institution is also a DBT Star College and
recipient of the National Clean and Smart Campus Award. In the India Today–MDRA Best Colleges Survey
2025, Kristu Jayanti was named the Best Emerging College of the Century in Commerce, Science, Arts, and
Social Work. Nationally, it ranks 4th in BCA, 11th in MSW, 18th in BBA, 19th in Commerce and Arts, 23rd in
Mass Communication, and 26th in Science. In Bengaluru, it holds top ranks including 2nd in BCA and MSW,
3rd in Commerce, and 4th in Arts, Science, and Mass Communication. The college also ranks 8th in Commerce
and 7th in BBA for placement, 5th in South India regionally, and 3rd in Mass Communication for best value for
money-highlighting its academic strength, industry relevance, and student success.

Department of Commerce
The Department of Commerce of the college has striven tirelessly in pursuit of excellence in commerce
education and inculcates research culture among the students. The M.Com and M.Com (FA) Programme of
the department was started in the year 2008 and 2015 respectively. The main objectives of the department
are to prepare the students in teaching, undertake quality researches and to meet the challenges in industry.
The department not only concentrates on the academic excellence of its students but also nurtures their
co- curricular activities. The faculty members are committed to nurturing an environment for proper growth
of intellectual insight on business aspects. The need of the current business for acquiring skills and
competence is thoroughly stressed upon in the formation of the syllabus. The department also lays emphasis
on the moral, social and patriotic growth of students. The impact that the Department creates is felt in the
greater altitudes that the alumni have achieved both nationally and internationally.

Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology, at Kristu Jayanti College established in 2002, is committed to nurturing
future professionals through a dynamic and practice-oriented curriculum. The programme offers in-depth
training in clinical assessments, counselling techniques, and human resource evaluations, ensuring students
acquire the skills necessary for a wide range of psychological services. A strong emphasis is placed on practical
learning, with students gaining hands-on experience in psychotherapeutics, alternative healing methods,
and supervised fieldwork across diverse settings such as old age homes, hospitals, and special schools. These
immersive experiences foster holistic development and prepare students to promote individual and
community well-being.

The department was recently honoured with the InSPA Educational Excellence Award for its significant
contributions to school counselling and its outstanding impact in the field. Enriching the academic journey
further, the department maintains prestigious affiliations with several national and international professional
organizations, enhancing both learning and career opportunities for its students.
About the Faculty Development Programme
In an era marked by economic volatility and psychological uncertainty, the intersection of financial literacy
and mental resilience is more vital than ever. This interdisciplinary Faculty Development Programme is
designed to equip educators with insights into financial decision- making, behavioral economics, and
psychological strategies that foster both personal well- being and institutional strength. The programme will
explore how psychological factors influence financial choices, how financial stress affects mental health, and
how these insights can be effectively integrated into pedagogy and research. Through expert-led sessions,
participants will delve into topics such as cognitive biases in economic behavior, emotional intelligence,
psychological well-being amidst market fluctuations, and strategic financial planning for long-term stability.
Open to faculty from diverse disciplines, this FDP offers a transformative learning experience that bridges
mind and market, empowering participants to navigate uncertainty with clarity and confidence.
