Why this course?
In therapy, couples don’t just communicate — they learn
to truly hear and heal together.
Couple therapy is both rewarding and complex; it invites us to
hold space for conflict, repair, and love. It can often feel
complex and emotionally charged - even for seasoned
therapists.
This course is designed to equip mental health professionals
with a clear, structured, and evidence-based roadmap to
confidently navigate relational work.
This training will help you:
✔️ Learn research-backed techniques with the Gottman
Method.
✔️ Identify the key predictors of relational breakdown and
repair & intervene with precision.
✔️ Gain practical conflict management tools to support
couples in navigating emotionally charged conversations,
regrets, and recurring arguments.
✔️ Help couples explore deeper meaning within their conflict.
✔️ Understand how to navigate challenging couple therapy
sessions without getting too overwhelmed.
If you’re a psychologist who is just beginning to work with
couples, curious about how couples work looks like, or want to
strengthen your current therapeutic skills and confidence
navigating complex relational dynamics, this course is for you.
Your takeaways
Gottman Method is the most trusted, research-backed
framework for couples therapy. This course introduces
the Gottman Method through an experiential lens -
helping psychologists not only learn the tools but also
understand how to apply them in therapy sessions.
What makes this training unique is its rootedness in
Indian cultural contexts. We will explore couple
dynamics through Bollywood vignettes, roleplays, case
discussions, and common relational themes seen in our
practice. You will walk away with clarity on Gottman
concepts like the Four Horsemen, Love Maps, repair
attempts, emotionally attuned dialogue, etc.
In Ashima’s words:
“My intention is for participants to gain practical
confidence, deepen their relational lens, and begin
applying Gottman-informed strategies with couples in
ways that feel authentic, structured & compassionate.
I want you to walk away feeling a little less daunted by
couples work, and a lot more equipped to sit with
conflict, love, and everything in between.
I hope that this course becomes a turning point - not
just in how you work with couples, but in how you
understand relationships as a whole.
We’ll make space for both skill-building and self-
reflection, so you’re not just learning how to support
your clients - but also evolving in the way you show up
in the therapy room.”
