Siprotec front port communication procedure:

For communication of siprotec the Digsi software required.

Click ‘DIGSI”

Click Ópen New folder’

Type the folder Name and it saved.

In right side part of the Window click right button.

Select Digsi--> Device option.

Then select the” SIPROTEC 4”(where 4 is the Version)

Click “Direct “ and Check the bits:8 and parity Even)

Now setting will download from relay.

The setting sending option is simple change the setting and click “Digsi Device”. Then
it will ask password Enter 6 no’s zero(000000).

 For detail procedure see last three page for communication

SIPROTEC RELAY TESTING PROCEDURE

1.Reach checking:

a). In this relay the parallel compensation is calculated from Externally so you must
check the setting I4 connection : neutral current of the protected line. Suppose the
parallel compensation is available means ensure it is shorted.

b). For reach checking just make the RIO file from setting using DIGSI software. Go to
setting group-A General protection menu and click graph save it some location.

c).In Omicron distance or Advance distance do the test as per same procedure of Micom
P442 relay.
Note: whenever you are testing the relay you must always Import the relay setting from
relay and converted to RIO file otherwise the operation of relay will be differ.

2.Power Swing Block:

The best way for checking the PSB in this relay Ramping OK. The standard ramping file
I attached here it will be useful for testing the PSB.

SOTF check:

Energise the manual closing Binary Input from T N C switch. The same time
create the fault using Quick CMC .For testing purpose rise the Manual closure seal in
time -2 sec.
I set Current : 2.5A

b).SOTF check

Setting - Submenu:

The submenu of setting detail as shown below. From that we can select the Masking
I/O configuration, setting group-A, Power system data , Device Setting, Oscillographic
records.

In device setting itself we can make it function Enable or Disable (i.e Micom
P442 –Configuration Menu).

Input Configuration:

Location: Setting/Masking I/O (Configuration Matrix).

For configuration of Input depending upon NC and NO just right click of function and
input number select the option H (High) or L(low). The input selection of function should
be SP.

SP- Signal point.


BI-Binary Input

Output Contact Configuration:

Location: Setting/ Masking I/O (Configuration Matrix)

For output contact configuration one example as shown below.


BO-Binary output.
L-latched
U-Unlatched
For A phase trip configured output number 12 (Unlatched). The signal selection should
be OUT.

Location: Setting/Masking I/O (Configuration)

For Example the LED-2 is configured for Pickup-A phase with Latch selection. For
selection right click and select the L-Latch ,U-Unlatched.

Power System Data 1:
Here all the general data of lines to be updated.(i.e. CT ratio, PT ratio ,Neutral
specification)

Setting Group-A Submenu:

In this Submenu we can select the function and can change the setting.
After change the setting in this window itself click Apply then Click Digsi Device. It
will ask Password type the Password (6 no’s of 0 ) six times of zero.

Communication Example:

Setting Selection:(Primary or Secondary)

From the display we can easily to see the how to select the secondary value or
Primary value . Simple just look the symbol it is transformer symbol. For selection of
secondary value select the secondary side dark blue and for selection of Primary the
symbol Primary side is dark blue. Always before enter the setting ensure it should be
secondary (normal practice).

Additional comments:

For Single pole Autoreclose 1 pole permissive trip opto should be select. The AR
switch 1pole position to be assigned.
