A EXCAVATION AND EARTH WORK
Notes:
1. Rate for excavation shall include dewatering by
deploying required number of pumps for the duration of the
excavation work and keeping it dry during excavation and
construction.
2. All earthwork shall be carried out as per
Architect's/Consultants' instructions and safety norms as
per relevant IS code. The rate shall include all scaffolding
and measures for cordoning off areas, providing sign
boards etc.

3. The contractor will have to employ at their cost an


experienced surveying agency as approved by the
Architect/ Project Management Consultant for demarcation
of areas, grid marking taking initial ground levels and final
levels. For excavation related approvals shall be taken by
the contractor at his own cost.

4. The contractor will have to quote the rate of excavation


including disposal of the excavated material ; outside the
building premises, at approved location from the local
authority as per their rules / norms.

5. The contractor will have to submit 10 year Unconditional


Gurantee for the Pre Construction Anti Termite Treatment
as per the Form of Gurantee as given in the Volume 1 of
Articles of Agreement. The contractor's rate shall be
inclusive of the Submission of the ATT Gurantee.

1.1 Excavation and backfilling (on completion of works) in all Cum 3500 0
kinds of soil, wet or dry ( such as yellow murrum, hard
murrum / gravel or mixture of any kind, etc. ), in loose and
slushy condition, including soft rock upto 1.5m below the
existing ground level for foundations, trenches, pits, rafts of
walls, pile caps, plinth, leveling area, etc to all depth from
existing ground level depth including disposing off
excavated material; outside the building premises, at
approved location from the local authority as per their rules
/ norms, bailing / pumping out water to keep the site dry at
all times until completion of refilling; making temporary
stepping/ sloping, shoring with planking, strutting,
sectioning, trimming, dressing of sides, leveling or grading,
cleaning, removing and excavating loose pockets and
consolidating them by backfilling as directed by the Project
Management Consultant and all complete to the
satisfaction of the Project Management Consultant.

size ) by chiseling hammering or by mechanical drilling to
required level for foundation, trenches, rafts, plinths,
leveling area etc. upto 1.5 M depth including disposing off
excavated material; at approved location from the local
authority as per their rules / norms; if required bailing /
pumping out of water to keep site dry at all times until
completion of backfilling, shoring, strutting, stepping,
dressing, grading, cleaning, removing and excavating loose
pockets and consolidating them by backfilling as directed
by the Project Management Consultant etc. all complete as
detailed in specification and conforming to safety rules of
authority from time to time.
Note :- 40 % voids shall be deducted from stack
measurement.

1.4 Filling and banking approved good quality earth in plinth, 0


area developing etc. in layers not exceeding 200 mm in
depth, breaking clods, watering, rolling each layer with
vibratory compactor and at inaccessible places with
wooden / steel rammers to achieve 95 % proctor density at
optimum moisture content; dressing up embankments; if
required, bailing / pumping out of water to keep site dry
while back filling, costs includes conveyance of all
materials, labours, machinery etc. complete as per
direction of the Project Management Consultant to his
entire satisfaction.

1.5 Carting away surplus material / debris outside the plot and Cum 1000 0
disposing it off, including required spreading, compacting
etc. as per the local authority rules and paying fees all
complete to the approval of Project Management
Consultant. Please note that the rate for the item for
excavation viz. item no. 1.2,1.3 and 1.4 for soil, soft rock
and hard rock espectively, at all depths, are inclusive of
disposal of material from the building premises.

Note :- 70 % of full measurement of earth in truck shall be 0


paid.
1.6 Providing and laying in compact manner 230 mm thick dry Sqm 1300 0
rubble soling including hand setting vertically in regular
lines and the interstices being filled with 40 to 65 mm stone
chips of approved quality, well watered and consolidated
complete as specified and directed to the entire satisfaction
of the Project Management Consultant.
1.7 Providing and injecting chemical anti termite treatment that Sqm 4200 0
shall create a chemical barrier under and around the
foundation pits, basement below plinth, along external
perimeter of building, surroundings of pipes, conduits etc;
all completed and confirming to specification and as per
approved manufacturer’s instructions and
recommendation, and installed by manufacturer’s approved
agency with a guarantee of 10 years , all to the satisfaction
of the Project Management Consultant. The agency for Anti
termite treatment to be Pest Control (India) or equivalent
approved.(Plinth area in plan at ground level shall be
measured. )

B CONCRETE WORK
Notes:
1. The rate also includes cost of providing offsets,
construction joints, making holes in or cutting formwork for
taking out dowel bars, hacking the exposed surfaces to
receive plaster as necessary.

2. The rate shall also include co-ordination with specified


agency, if any, erection of platform and other allied works.

3. Admixtures, where required, will be approved by


Architects/Structural Consultant/Project Management
consultant and provided by the Contractor at no extra cost.

4. The Contractor is entirely responsible for the design of


concrete mixes. The design is however, to be approved by
the Structural Consultant.
5. Rate shall be inclusive of providing cover blocks. Cover
blocks shall be made of the same grade of concrete of
structural member in which the blocks are to be used.

2.1 Providing, machine mixing and laying plain cement Cum 700 0
concrete (PCC) in foundations for columns footing, bases
of walls, plinths, rafts, plinth beams, floor slabs pits to make
up level etc; compacting, curing required shuttering and its
removal, dewatering, cleaning, preparing surfaces,
junctions etc: complete at all heights, and depths as per
the drawing and to the satisfaction of the Project
Management Consultant. Size of aggregate to be 20 mm or
as directed by the Project Management Consultant for

2.2 Providing, machine mixing and laying reinforced cement


concrete (Ready Mix Concrete or concrete produced at
site as per the instructions of the Project Management
Consultant) of grade M-30 from any recognized company
like Ultra Tech, Lafarge or equivalent approved design
mix, using approved admixtures; vibrating, curing,
scaffolding as required, dewatering by pumping / bailing
out water, cleaning, preparing surfaces , etc., including
shuttering/ deshuttering, rendering , hacking of R.C.C.
surface, curing etc. complete but excluding reinforcement;
all complete to the satisfaction of the Project Management
Consultant.

the surfaces, laying in strips/ grids to required levels,

(Fosroc/Sika/equivalent) with consumption 4.5-5
kg/m^2 & surface hardness 8 to 9 (Moh's scale) of
approved make as per dosage specified by the

C REINFORCEMENT / STRUCTURAL STEEL WORK
Notes:
1. Overweight of the steel shall not be considered for
calculating consumption and payment purpose, I.S.
constant for weight of different dia. of bars shall be
considered for payment as well as consumption purpose.

2. Column reinforcement bars are required to be lapped in


the middle portion of columns as per the details provided in
the Structural drawings. Proper arrangement shall be
made to support reinforcement projecting above floor level.
The overhanging bars should be properly supported. The
cost of these works is deemed to have been included in the
rate.

3. As there is no space available at site for storage of


structural/ reinforcement steel and for the rebar yard /
fabrication yard all the cutting/ bending work for
reinforcement steel will have to be carried out outside the
premises. No additional expenses shall be considered for
the above.

3.1 Providing, straightening, cutting, bending and binding in


position of reinforcement bar mild or Tor to correct shape
and size as per detailed drawings, specifications and
approved bar bending schedules, in footings, walls,
columns, slabs, beams, suspended floors, etc, with correct
size PVC cover blocks or approved concrete cover blocks
of grade of concrete and binding wire of 18 gauge etc.
complete to the satisfaction of the Project Management
Consultant.

Tor steel with yield stress not less than 500 N / mm2. M.T. 1350 0
3.2 Providing, supplying, straightening, cutting, fabricating, M.T. 50 0
welding, bolting, erecting, grouting in pockets, etc structural
steel members in built up or single section of any standard
M.S. Structural inserts, structural members as required
etc. as per details and drawings including providing 3 coats
of approved make and shade Synthetic Enamel paint on
one coat of red oxide primer, including providing/ erecting
scaffolding etc. complete to the entire satisfaction of the
Project Management Consultant. (For M.S. staircase, Rung
ladders for water tanks/lift machine room,Bridge etc.)
3.3 Providing and Fixing in Position approved Mechanical
Couplers in lieu of laps for H.Y.S.D reinforcement bars
designed to develop full strength including threading as
specified, as per manufacturer’s specification and as
directed by Clients Representative at all levels and at all
locations. Threading of bars at both ends, junction
comprising two separate bars of requisite forging (if
required) and threading shall be treated as one number for
payment). The rates quoted against the item of mechanical
couplers shall include qualification of the system, cutting
and cleaning of reinforcement bars, supply of couplers and
swaging of the rods including testing as per the
Specifications, providing jig for splicing and necessary tools
and plant for swaged splices and labour etc. complete to
the satisfactory completion of the job. For threaded splices
rates quoted shall include qualification of the system,
cutting and cleaning of reinforcement bars, supply of
coupler, cold forging of bars, threading of bars and
connection of the bars as per the manufacturer’s
Specifications.
The rates shall also include providing jig for couplers and
necessary tools and plant including testing as per
specifications, labour transportation, Handling, unloading,
shifting to all locations & heights, fixing etc. complete to the
satisfaction of the Clients Representative.

Non Shrink grout of Fosroc/ SIKA or other approved make
in the proportion recommended by the manufacturer andas
per the procedure laid down by them. The rate to include
for carrying out Pull out test on one sample of
reinforcement steel. The rate to include for all the required
tools and tackles, machinary, labour, scaffolding,
reinforcement Steel/ grouting material etc. required for
carrying out the work to the entire satisfaction of the
Engineer In Charge etc. complete.

3.6 Providing and fixing chemical anchor fasteners in position


to proper line & level of HILTI or any approved vendor
including rilling of holes, cleaning, carrying out pull out test,
erection and dismantling of necessary staging/ scaffolding
for the works, all kinds labour, tools & tackle, lead & lift,
wastages, consumables as directed by Client's
representative.
