香港教育大学-Master of Arts in STEM Education
面经一
1. 自我介绍
Tell me a little bit about yourself?
Hi everyone, my name is Ke Anqi, and I’m from Quanzhou, Fujian. I studied Applied
Chemistry at Minnan Normal University, and I just graduated recently.
In college, I took a lot of chemistry and math-related courses, but I also became really
interested in education. So in my free time, I started learning more about things like
educational psychology and how to design lessons. I even got my teaching certificate
because I realized I wanted to go deeper into this field.
I found out about the STEM Education program at EdUHK, and I was really drawn to
it — it combines subject knowledge with real classroom practice, which is exactly what
I’m looking for. I want to learn how to teach science and other STEM subjects in a
more engaging, creative way.
Outside of class, I joined some student groups too. For example, I helped organize a fun
science experiment show with the student union, and I was a mentor for first-year
students to help them settle in. I also joined the“Yangfan Program”during my breaks,
where I interned at a chemical testing company and did rural teaching twice. I even
designed STEM-themed interactive lessons and joined a science outreach competition
— those were really meaningful experiences that made me love teaching even more.
If I get the chance to study here, I’d like to start building up my skills in programming
and engineering basics, and I’ll also look for more chances to get classroom experience.
In the future, I hope to become a STEM teacher who can inspire students and help them
enjoy exploring science.
Thanks a lot!
2. 如何理解 STEM 这个专业
How do you understand the STEM education major?
well first of all, it stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics” .
Simply put, in a STEM class, students might:
1: Use science to understand a problem (like climate change)
2: Apply technology to gather or present data
3: Use engineering to design a solution (like a new water filter)
4: And apply math to calculate and test how effective their solution is.
To me, STEM education is more than just teaching science, technology, engineering, and
math as separate subjects — it’s about connecting them to help students solve
real-world problems in creative and practical ways.
3. 为什么要选择 STEM
why choose the STEM?
well the reason is very obvious.
cuz STEM encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and hands-on learning, which I
believe are essential skills in the 21st century. Instead of just memorizing facts or
formulas, students learn how to apply what they know to design solutions, test ideas,
and even fail and try again — just like real scientists or engineers.
Therefore, this program at EdUHK is a great fit for me because it not only builds
teaching skills, but also encourages innovation and critical thinking, which are key to
my future goals.
4. 未来的职业规划
What are your future career plans?
After completing the Master of Arts in STEM Education, I hope to work as a STEM
educator, either in a secondary school or an education centre. My goal is to design more
engaging, hands-on lessons that help students see the real-life value of science,
technology, engineering, and math.
In the long run, I’d like to take on a leadership role, maybe as a curriculum developer
or education consultant, where I can help schools build stronger STEM programmes. I’
m also interested in promoting STEM learning in under-resourced areas, to give more
students equal access to future opportunities.

面经二
1. 自我介绍
2. 有没有申请其他学校,为什么会选择 STEM?
Have you applied to other universities? Why did you choose STEM?
Yes, I have considered other universities, but EdUHK is my top choice because of its
strong focus on education and its reputation in Asia. I was particularly drawn to the
Master of Arts in STEM Education because it combines both theory and practice —
which I believe is important for developing real teaching skills.
I chose STEM because I believe it’s the future of education. It encourages creativity,
collaboration, and problem-solving, which are skills students need not just in school, but
in life. I want to be part of this movement and help bring more innovative, hands-on
learning experiences into classrooms.
So even though I explored other options, I feel this programme best matches my values
and long-term goals.
如果你真的只申请了香港教育大学,也可以这样说:
Actually, I’ve only applied to EdUHK. I wanted to focus on one programme that I truly
believe in, rather than apply to many. The STEM Education programme here is very
unique, and I feel it fits my passion and career plan perfectly.
3. STEM 代表什么?
4. 有无 STEM 相关教学经验?为什么要结合四个领域来教学?
Q1: Do you have any STEM-related teaching experience?
A:Yes, a little.
I’ve helped out in some science and tech-related activities before — like simple
experiments or beginner coding tasks with students.
It wasn’t a full STEM course, but I really enjoyed seeing how students got excited when
they could do things with their hands and think for themselves. That made me more
interested in learning how to teach STEM properly in the future.
Q2: Why should we combine science, technology, engineering, and math in teaching?
A:
Because in real life, those things are always connected. Like, if you’re building
something — say, a small robot — you need to know a bit of physics, use math,
understand how the parts work (engineering), and maybe program it (technology).
Teaching them together helps students see the big picture. It’s also more fun and useful,
because they can solve problems in a more creative and practical way.
5. 以后想教数学还是科学?有什么区别?
Q: In the future, would you prefer to teach math or science? What’s the difference
between them?
A:
I think I’d prefer to teach [math / science], because I’ve always felt more confident and
interested in that subject.
Math is more about logic and problem-solving. It trains students to think step by step
and be precise. I enjoy showing students that math is not just numbers — it’s like a
puzzle that helps you understand the world.
Science, on the other hand, is more about exploring and understanding how things work
in real life. It’s more hands-on, and students can do experiments to see things happen in
front of them, which is super fun too.
Both are important, but I think [math / science] suits me more — and I’d love to make
it more fun and meaningful for students.

面经三
1. 自我介绍
2. 为什么选择我们学校这个专业?
3. 将来的职业规划,是否想当老师?
4. 作为科学老师应当如何教学?
Q: As a science teacher, how should you teach?
A:
I think a good science teacher should make learning fun, practical, and easy to
understand. Science isn’t just about memorizing facts — it’s about asking questions
and finding out how things work.
So I would use more hands-on experiments, real-life examples, and group discussions to
help students really get the ideas. For example, instead of just talking about electricity, I
might let students build a simple circuit by themselves. That way, they can see and feel
what they’re learning.
Also, I think it’s important to encourage curiosity. If a student asks a question, even if it’
s a bit off-topic, I’d try to explore it with them. That kind of thinking is what science is
really about.
5. 科技与工程的区别?
Q: What’s the difference between technology and engineering?
A:
Well, they’re closely related, but they’re not the same.
Technology is about using tools, machines, or software to make life easier or solve
problems. For example, using a computer or a smart phone — that’s technology. It’s
more about the products we use.
Engineering, on the other hand, is the process of designing and building those things.
Engineers use science and math to create something new — like bridges, robots, or
even apps.
So both are super important in STEM.

2. 你认为科技可以改变课堂吗?
Q: Do you think technology can change the classroom?
A:
Yes, definitely. I think technology has already changed the classroom a lot, and it will
keep changing it in the future.
With tools like smart boards, tablets, and online platforms, students can learn in more
fun and flexible ways. For example, teachers can show videos, do interactive quizzes, or
even use VR to take students on a virtual trip to space or inside the human body —
that makes learning more exciting and real.
Also, technology helps teachers personalize learning. If one student is slower, they can
review lessons online. If another student is fast, they can move ahead. So it’s more
student-centered.
Of course, we still need good teachers, but I think technology can really help make
teaching and learning better.

great environment for teaching.
If I get the chance to teach here, I’d love to bring what I’ve learned from this program
into the classroom — especially using STEM methods to help students learn in a fun
and practical way.
At the same time, I’m also open to working in other places, depending on the
opportunities. But for sure, I think Hong Kong would be a great place to start my
teaching career.
