P1 – P6
Q – The dr called anesthesiologist for a kidney stone
removal by open approach, After examining the pt,
anesthesiologist says the pt is healthy and he
performed the anesthesia. What is the correct CPT code
for anesthesiologists!

Q – The dr schedules a right hip surgery and
anesthesiologist was appointed, After the examination
anesthesiologist approves te anesthesia for a healthy
pt. Give the appropriate CPT code for anesthesiologist
service
01210 – P1
Systemic disease is a disease which affects the entire
body or multiple organs eg – High blood pressure,
Obesity, Diabetes
P2 - Mild systemic disease
P3 - Severe systemic disease
P4 – Severe systemic disease with constant threat to
life
P5 – The pt will not survive without operation
P6 – A brain dead person whose organs are to be used

instructed his CRNA to perform the anesthesia service.
Bill the appropriate anesthesia procedure code

When the anesthesiologist is not available the CRNA
will work independently - QZ
Eg – The Dr. scheduled a open fracture repair on
forearm for a 36-year-old pt, The pt was complicated
due to hypothermia and hypotension, because of no
availability of anesthesiologist the CRNA performed the
anesthesia service independently. Bill the appropriate
anesthesia procedure code

Anesthesiologist supervises 2 to 4 CRNA at the same
time, Anesthesiologist – QK and CRNA will use mod QX
For more than 4 to 6 CRNA are supervised CRNA’s will
bill with QX and Anaesthesiologist will use Mod. AD
