A Birthday Surprise
One day, Peter and his mum saw a model train in the window of a
toy shop. Peter really wanted to get it, but he needed to wait until his
birthday. Peter’s birthday was on Wednesday, February 3rd. On Tuesday,
he and his mum came to the toy shop, but the train wasn’t there. Peter was
really sad.
At school, Ms Tracy - his teacher, said “Happy birthday, Peter!”
but his friends said nothing and didn’t play with him in the playground during
breaktime. After school, Peter walked home slowly. When he opened the
door, he was really surprised. All of his family and friends were in his house.
Peter’s mum brought a beautiful birthday cake and then Peter saw a big box
