oe) STUDY 766 HOLY POWER FOR HOLY SERVICE Acts 1:8 The Holy Spirit is a Personality. He is the third Person in the Godhead who was sent to the world after Christ ascended to heaven. As believers, we need the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the work of reaching out to the world. This power residing in the individual can bring great changes in life and ministry as it did in the early Church as well as in the Apostles. Same way, the Holy Spirit’s power in the life and ministry of the believers can make great accomplishments and extraordinary exploits noticeable in the campus community. It is instructive to note that greater works can be done and has been done through the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49). For souls to be saved, sinners to be rescued from the grip of satanic powers, for diverse miracles to take place, the power of the Holy Spirit cannot be jettisoned. Due to the prevalence of immorality and immoral relationships, examination misconduct, devilish acts and other sinful vices in the campus community, there is need for campus believers to possess the Holy power for service. The lives of some Christians on campus reveal that the power of the Holy Spirit is lacking as many cannot reach out effectively to the lost and rescue the perishing. The service of power-packed €vangelical outreach is waning and thus it is important that believers come to the altar of fire to be endued with holy power. 61 ee | The early Church experienced a greater outpouring (Acts 2:1-4), that led to the conversion of multitudes after the preaching of Apostle Peter (Acts 2:37,41), the healing of the lame man (Acts 3:1-8) and many more. They alj demonstrated power for service, which invariably can also reflect in our lives today. The Holy Spirit makes a difference in believers’ lives as a tool for witnessing as greater and positive results are seen. There is power and victory over temptations and sins and the ability to live to please Goq in all things is manifested. The power of the Holy Spirit is for all genuinely saved believers who have the sanctification experience, which is the removal of the root of sin, because the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in an unclean and unsanctified life. There must also be thirst for the experience (Matthew 5:6) and earnest and passionate prayer of faith (Matthew 5:8). Our service becomes more dynamic, fruitful, and result- oriented when we are indwelt and saturated with the power of the Holy Spirit. Plus, we can go ahead and accomplish greater works and the task ahead of us. Discussion: 1. What can’ you s; ay about the person and personality of the Holy Spirit? eR NO ENE ie 2.
