Architectural plans required by the National Building
Code of the Philippines (NBCP) include the following:
1. Vicinity Map/Location Plan
In building plans, a vicinity map and a location map serve distinct but
related purposes. A location map shows the precise location of a specific
site within a larger area, like a city or region. It focuses on the site's exact
position relative to major landmarks and infrastructure, like roads and
waterways. According to architectural resources, a vicinity map, on the
other hand, provides a broader overview of the area surrounding the site,
including nearby buildings, streets, and other points of interest that might
be relevant to the project. Essentially, a location map tells you where the
site is, while a vicinity map shows you what's around the site.
