Tamango Project Report Rev2

The Tamango Project is set to be the first 12-story hybrid building in Coyhaique, Aysen, and in Latin America, emphasizing rapid construction with engineered wood for reduced carbon footprint. The project includes detailed structural analysis and design considerations for seismic stability, as well as evaluations of fire safety and long-term deformation. An engineering team is in place to oversee the development and address any questions regarding the project.

Evaluation of some variation in the concrete core

The architect team aims to:

• Eliminate some shear wall in Y direction

• Allow us to increase the thickness of the remained walls up to 300 [mm]

Evaluation of TCC slab

Design criteria

• TCC = 170 [mm] CLT + 100 [mm] H.A (vibration is controlling the desing)
• The long term limit deflection at the cantilever elements should be L/300
= 4[ ]
= 2[ ]

= 100

Evaluation of TCC slab: Case # 3 L = 1.5 [m]

• According to NCh1537 Of 2009 section 7, the railing of a balcony should include a point load of 0.9 [kN] at the less favourable
point. Moreover, a linear load of 0.5 [kN/m] must be applied in the vertical/horizontal direction.
