"Web it Up! Code, Create and Conquer" Hackathon
Event Overview
Event Name: Web it Up! Code, Create and Conquer
Organized by: The Victors Club, Dronacharya College of
Engineering
Target Audience: Third-year students
Purpose:
The Hackathon aims to challenge participants to create a web-based
project integrated with a strong business model. This initiative is
designed to foster innovation, enhance technical skills, and
cultivate entrepreneurial thinking among participants. Through this
event, students will have the opportunity to apply their classroom
learning to practical challenges and demonstrate their potential as
future industry leaders.

Detailed Flow of Event Execution
1. Registration and Idea Submission Round (October 10 - October 14,
2024)
Process:
The Hackathon begins with the opening of registrations and
PowerPoint presentation (PPT) submissions on October 10.
Students will form teams (maximum of four members) and submit a
PPT outlining their project idea, focusing on both technical
development and business viability.
This stage serves as an introduction for participants to showcase
their initial ideas and concepts. The PowerPoint should include:
o Problem statement
o Proposed solution
o Technical framework
o Business model
Objective: Encourage students to think not just as developers but as
problem solvers with a keen understanding of the market potential
for their solution.
Evaluation:
The ideas will be evaluated on the basis of creativity, feasibility,
and the robustness of their business model.
2. Project Submission Round (October 22, 2024)

Process:
In this round, teams will submit their fully developed web-based
projects. The projects should align with the chosen Hackathon
theme (detailed below) and must demonstrate both the technical
implementation and the business model in a real-world scenario.
Online Mentorship Sessions: Throughout this phase, expert
mentors will be available to guide the teams through technical and
business-related queries. This ensures that participants receive the
support needed to deliver a polished, well-rounded project.
Judging Criteria:
The submissions will be judged based on several criteria:
o Innovation: Uniqueness and creativity of the solution
o Functionality: Working prototype, UI/UX, and scalability
o User Experience: Ease of use, responsiveness, and
practicality
o Business Viability: Market potential, cost-efficiency, and
revenue model
3. Result Announcement (October 24, 2024)
Process:
On October 24, the results of the Project Submission Round will
be announced. Teams that performed best in terms of innovation,
execution, and business model strength will proceed to the final
offline pitching round.
4. Offline Final Round (October 25, 2024)
Venue: On-campus venue (to be decided)
Process:
The final round will take place on campus, where the selected
teams will present their web-based projects in front of a live panel

of judges, including two industry experts and an esteemed alumnus
of the college.
Teams will be given 10-12 minutes to pitch their project, followed by
a Q&A session with the judges. This allows participants to not only
showcase their technical expertise but also their ability to
communicate their vision and justify the business potential of their
project.
Judging Panel:
Two Judges will evaluate the presentations based on:
o Technical sophistication
o Business model viability
o Presentation and pitching skills
The final round will also provide participants with valuable feedback
from the judges, offering insights into real-world challenges and
opportunities.
Prize Distribution:
The closing ceremony will feature a prize distribution, recognizing
the top three teams for their hard work and innovative solutions:
o First Prize: ₹5000
o Second Prize: ₹3000
o Third Prize: ₹1000
Themes for the Hackathon
Participants will work on projects that align with one of the following critical
industry areas:
1. Healthcare:
Solutions aimed at improving patient care, enhancing access to
medical resources, or revolutionizing healthcare management
systems.
2. Ecommerce:
Innovations designed to optimize online shopping experiences,

streamline supply chain management, or integrate novel payment
solutions.
3. Business:
Applications that focus on improving business efficiency, customer
relationship management (CRM), or developing new business
strategies and models.
4. Education:
Projects that offer new approaches to e-learning, enhance the
educational process, or provide support for both students and
educators in a digital environment.
5. Finance:
Financial applications designed to simplify budgeting, manage
investments, or improve financial literacy for users.
6. SocialMedia:
Platforms and tools that foster better user engagement, strengthen
digital communities, or introduce unique features to enhance social
interactions.
7. Security:
Cybersecurity solutions that protect user data, secure online
transactions, or mitigate the risks associated with digital threats.
Expected Impact
The "Web it Up! Code, Create and Conquer" Hackathon is anticipated
to have a significant impact on third-year students, providing them with an
invaluable platform to develop and showcase their practical skills in web
development and business model design. Through both online
collaboration during the submission rounds and offline presentations,
participants will gain a holistic learning experience that transcends
traditional classroom teaching.
